My first Ys game was VIII and I've been hooked since then! There is something about every entry that captivates the player. From the the different settings to all the soundtracks of each and every game, this series is just a masterpiece! Let's not forget Adol's character and the stories of all his adventures
Same! Picked the game up on PSP and just thought “huh what’s Ys? Lemme give it a go” and it got me hooked wanting to play the others, the others being super unique in their own gameplay but keeping that good hack-n-slash RPG with awesome music. Now I’m an advocate and try and tell many ppl about it as possible to get them hooked too haha
This is the only compilation of YS music that helps me focus on my work. As soon as I play it, everything around me just fades into the background as I start knocking things off my work list.
I have to say, back then, Ys dungeon and field themes really surpass what I usually expect for an RPG. As an example, when usual field themes sounds like a pleasant walk in the outskirts of town, Mother Earth Altago from Ys VII just blew me away with how diverse and upbeat a field the can be. Falcom Sound Team jdk always makes great hits and will always be my favorite composers
Ys and Falcom music in general is amazing, goes well with how great the games always are. glad to see a surge in popularity for both of them, the music will always live down as one of the best in gaming and media entirely
ys and especially 8 seriously all have the most disgustingly catchy soundtracks, like practically every song has the most delicious melody you can imagine and put it through so much buildup and like, awesome key changes and stuff, its absolutely absurd. What the fuck are they cooking over at Falcom Sound Team JDK.
Ys is by far one of the best game sagas I've ever played, and the music through all titles its just amazing. No wonder Falcom even had a Record Label for their game's OST
I just want to say thank you so much for having this complete you series extension soundtrack on UA-cam this has helped me get through my workouts so much easier and it's all thanks to you wonderful content creators much appreciated.
Thank you for this. I maintain, that in JRPG’s... no, gaming in general Ys series and Falcom Sound Team are absolute kind of the ost. My god. Well... them and my lad Uematsu. 😍
Ys V dearly needs a remake, so we could have nice new arrangements of its OST. I think the game has some amazing and catchy tunes, that are only limited by the SFC's sound chip. I really like the Ys V OST! It is so underappreciated, as is the game itself.
Thanks to this video, I'm officially hooked. This series is absolutely fantastic. I was a little reluctant to play at first because I am terrible at any game that's not turn-based or a platformer, but man, the gameplay in these games is just so fun. The stories are so captivating as well! I love these games so much.
"Samsara and Paramnesia" and "Scars Of The Divine Wing", I say Fucking YES! I really love the YS franchise music, Falcom JDK is a strong composers team. My very favorite soundtracks are Origin, VIII, VI, I-II, Oath Of Felghana. Of course IX, Celceta and Seven are awesome too.
@@Sintakhra Boat journeys are great! Its just that Adol doesn't have a good sense of seafaring skills by not being able to save his own sloop in the middle of a Stormwall. Not until he met Captain Laddock who's a real Buccaneer.

There's a few reasons Budget of games and delivery. We wait like 5 or 6 years between a Mainline FF title because they have insane money poured into them. IPs square has more of them in one business unit than falcom has in their entire catalog. More money, more fans. Square Is also a publisher, meaning they have fresh talent and products coming to THEM. Square has localization that isn't industry leading in how poor and slow it is. Ys games come out every 2 to 3 years, but you won't see a western release until at LEAST another year. With notable issues at all levels. More to games than incredible sound tracks. Ys is my favorite action game series, and the Tales and trials series are cool too, but they're objectively bare bones compared to the industry giants. Lastly, marketing. I want you to honestly answer when was the last time you saw an ad for a Ys game. Or any of their games for that matter.
