    I have weak glutes. Gonna give these a try. I understood completely when you said going through the movement without feeling anything in the glutes area.

    Rarely comment on any videos. Retired from being a successful certified ACSM personal trainer for almost 20 years with a biology degree.
    Good for this guy, many other ways to exercise and move but his philosophy of finding variations that help target specific muscles/muscle groups is effective. Even better for many people, rather than having the potential to use a muscle category many exercises he demonstrates MAKE you target a specific muscle, well done!
    I've been around and observed many trainers through the years. For the general population the worst trainers do the same thing over and over, the best ones find variations not just every 4-6 weeks but every single session for their clients. Plus he is to the point, haven't seen any fake weights yet (Betting we won't unless it's in a comedic video), and there is the occasional funny joke or two.

    This is mindblowing. No wonder I didn't grow my glutes huge like the rest of my body. It all makes sense now. I never consciously use my glutes during any of my big lifts.

    Awesome, I can add this in my routine Glutes exercises. I want my Glutes to be much bigger at my age 70 along with my legs to be bigger too. Not easy when ur senior but I am better off than others.

    I do single legged hip thrusts with a resistance band spanned out between the bottom of my door and under my bed and then sit under the band and thrust up, it's such a great workout

    I have been watching Ryan's videos for some months now and honestly saying I don't know much about how today's fitness freaks achieve their gods like physic and I am quite sure that a normal person with a normal job can't achieve that kind of physic. But when I found this channel what impressed me most is how Ryan looks strong and in shape yet still (to me) he looks like a 100% natural guy and if I worked hard I might get a decent and healthy body without caring about all the supliments and Other things. In my opinion this type of physic should be more popular rather than a physic that looks enhanced with extremely low body fat % for which you have to be constantly worried about your sups, shakes and juices rather than your life and family. Thanks Ryan.

    Dude…the static abductor squat variation destroyed the outsides of my glutes. I didn’t think it did much even though I could feel it flex slightly, but the next day came the SORENESS! Thanks!

    I have extremely week glutes which has been giving me hip issues and lower back problem, not to mention tight hamstrings. After doing this for one day I could already see I was able to bend forward from the hips a few centimetres more than before. ❤

      Try nordic curls. Can be done anywhere as long as you can tuck your legs under some furniture and they suuuuuuuuck.

    I've had so much trouble getting a glute connection. Just now the comment on the sumo squat to use the glutes to push myself up, it worked!! I really felt a connection. Oh did it burn, love it.

    another side benefit is doing these glute exercises in public like at the park on a bench... I have found that social distancing is not a problem at all, people seem to stay a lot farther away than 6 feet, especially after doing the feet together hip thrusts and those squats moving my knees in and out. no one came anywhere near me after doing those.

    At 82 in July, I noticed my Glutes, were getting flabby. These are a bit much for me, but I’ll adapt them.
    Never thought I’d ever have a flabby butt, but I did. Nice to know, I can work on them.Thanks.
    PS, maybe adapt your method for us Seniors.

    Ryan, try your spin on the 5 basic plié positions in ballet.
    Ballet dancers have rock solid glutes and legs.
    I usually stick to 1-3.
    Maybe you can make the last two less awkward?

    Don't know why, but the first double hip press didn't quite hit it. Poor flexibility, don't know. But the single hip was great. Even though I couldn't keep the other leg completely elevated, I just used it to lightly keep me balanced. Happy to find this.

    Your a big bro, and very sharp looking. I run everyday for about a hour, and swim most days. I like long lean muscle for myself and find if I do weights my legs get really big fast. So I do a lot of stretching instead. Cheers for the videos...
