🥺😢😭🕊️ I’m sorry to hear this. Pets are sent from God. I’m sure of it. They become a permanent part of your life. For people to say “it was only a dog” really don’t understand the pain it can leave you.

We lost our horse, she was 32, and a rescue. But she knew who we were to her, and I can't stop thinking about that last look she gave me before she passed through to Rainbow Mountain. A pack of white cranes flew over us and made the shape of a bird. R.I.P Cocoa!!🐎🐎🐎

I am so sorry about your loss. I grew up owning horses, and I retired my last horse 15 years ago. She moved to a farm to spend her days in the pasture babysitting younger horses. But I do know the intense bond that one gets with their horse. I love dogs, but my bond with my horse was much more intense and deep. Cocoa lived such a long life, and I'm glad she connected with you before she passed on!

I didn't really get anything out of this video that is new to me or very helpful. About a year ago we adopted (or were adopted) by two feral kitties who we had been feeding in our yard for along time. One very small female ginger, and one BIG male american bobtail cat. After a brief sudden illness our Micky the bobtail passed last month. After having lived a long life an having many cats an dogs over the years our Micky was the most special gift from God we ever had. Besides being smarter than many dogs he had a special understanding of my wifes medical challenges an watched over her like hawk. One time when she lost her balance in the kitchen he bolted in there an threw himself in her path so that her head hit his big body instead of the floor. Micky played catch, fetch an return an all kinds of games over most pets intelligence. His running mate from the feral days has yet to stop looking for him. It will be a very very long time for us three to recover from the loss of our Micky....

The video is a minute long and I believe he touched on some very important things, I'm sorry you found no use for this video but some of us do. Reminding us that feeling hurt by the experience is ok, and to not seek comfort from people who just don't understand our love for our fur babies ( who say it's just an animal or pet), is extremely helpful. And seeking out friends and family to help us through it is also very important.

We usually have two dogs at a time. But, we lost our lab mix 18 months ago, leaving us with our Terrier. He died three weeks ago, and my husband and I experienced a dog free home for the first time in 36 years. It was like our home had lost it's soul. We put in an application for a rescue dog, and she is coming to live with us on Sunday!! (I am retired, and my husband will retire in a year.... and we thought about not having animals so we pick up and travel etc. That lasted for about half a day!) 🐕🐶

I found this channel some months ago when both of my cats, aged 16 and 18, were diagnosed with different forms of cancer. This channel gave me hope while I was going through this. Sadly, both my cats passed away a few weeks ago…..one on Tuesday and one on Friday. Their little beds are still in the same place, and each night I still say goodnight to them. Daytime, when I am busy, are not too bad, but sitting here alone each night without them climbing all over me, is horrible.

I lost my pitbull of 14 years last February and for the month or so after I genuinely could barely go on the only thing that really helped me through was adopting my current dog. I think so long as you are up to take care of another pet that is a great way to deal with it, at first it might feel like you could never replace them but you have to know that your new pet will be looking to you for that same love and care that your previous did. Found your channel today for tips to manage a folicle cyst till I can afford treatment if need be. You are a really good person and I will definitely bge sticking around to show my support!

We said goodbye to our beautiful, sweet Chloe today. We rescued her and our other dog, Buddy, the same day. They had never met, but became part of my pack. She was the best friend I’ve ever had. I found Dr. Jones while I was researching holistic ways to treat her lymphoma. We spent a lot of money on chemotherapy, trying to throw everything at the disease. I followed every treatment recommendation from Dr. Jones, but the cancer won. While nothing would cure the cancer, I believe that the treatments helped prolong her life. That’s what counts. Everyday with her was a blessing. We will always love our Chloe.

I’m so sorry for your loss of Pippi, Dr. Jones. Yes, they are like family and it hurts deeply. Some people just cannot understand the grief because they haven’t experienced the deep love and connection with a dog. They truly are a man’s best friend and the most loyal companions who love you unconditionally and only want your love and care in return. We lost Mia, our Cocker in Aug 2021 and Polo, our Schnauzer in Nov 2022. They were both 16 yrs old. I loved them as my own kids and to this day I’m not over their loss. We have 2 more furry babes and give them lots of love and the best possible life we can but deeply dread the day that something happens to them.

When time time comes, all my dogs ashes will be scattered with mine. Losing a pet is as hard as losing a human, for some of us much worse. The grief is unbearable at times, grieve as long as you need. I had 7 dogs over the years and each room a piece of my heart when their time came. I'm planning on getting one more to help me heal.

It’s a specific kind of pain losing a pet.
My little family was hit hard with the loss of our grumpy old man dog, Lucky. He was my special baby. He was born unresponsive and had all the markers for poor double Merle breeding(deaf, vision impairment, sunburst pupils, excessive white fur). No one loved or protected our family more than him.
Our other (younger) dog took the loss just as us humans. When I let her smell his empty collar, it’s as if she knew he wasn’t coming back.
A month later, a 3.5 week puppy ended up on our laps. The bio mom rejected the litter and was in an unsafe environment so we took one. Whooeeie! What an exhausting experience. I wouldn’t change the decision but don’t recommend it. 😅💗

WRT #4: One ritual I've found very helpful in processing the loss of a beloved cat hearkens back to the time when families prepared their loved ones for burial (it's also still practiced by some religions). It may sound odd, but I prepare their body for cremation by bathing them and placing them in a decorated basket for transportation to the pet crematorium. It gives me - and the other cats - the chance to say goodbye while also doing the last thing I can for them before letting them go. In the case where my cat dies away from the home (ie, at the ER), I've found that bringing the body back into the house and letting the other cats see that their sibling has died helps them understand what has happened as they don't wander the house calling for the lost sibling in distress when I do this.

    Bye Buddy Bye
When the pain of seeing our friend, family member and companion was more than the decision of saying goodbye, it was time.
When the thought of being selfish, wanting him to stay was more than the compassion of letting him go, it was time.
When we could do no more, it was time. We made our decision with love.

    Thank you, Dr.
My guy is approaching 10 in June, has been slowing up the past year and I am already grieving his loss...he had a tough start; they found him running for his life on the streets of Compton, skinny and wild! He now eats much better than I do, has 2 lush walks a day...we go wherever he takes me....
Any advice for me? I'm a Dr. of Oriental Medicine; I KNOW BETTER; LIFE GOES ROUND AND ROUND.
I pray that we die in each other's arms...after some biscuts and a pot of tea. I welcome advice!😭!!

Good timing. I just lost my dog a couple weeks ago. Although he was a big dog and 9 years old and showing his age, the death itself was totally unexpected.
This is the first time I've been totally dogless in 50 years. It's been excruciating. Even though I still have 2 cats and a horse, it's just not quite the same as that unconditional devotion you get from a dog. Henry was my best friend. 😢

My dog is 13yo and I've had him since he was a month old. I know I don't have much time left with him and trying to prepare myself for when the day comes but I don't think I'll ever be ready for that day. Thankfully he is healthy other than having arthritis, bladder stones, narrow trachea, and a lipoma. No signs of cancer yet. Doing my best to treat the narrow trachea causing coughing and his arthritis. CBD oil and Throat Gold has been doing wonders for him. He's on a prescription diet dog food to help with weight loss so they can do surgery to remove the bladder stones and lipoma. Hard for him to lose weight as he isn't active and gains weight easily. I work 3rd shift and he sleeps at night and sleeps all day with me as I'm sleeping. Wish I could do more with him.

@@VeterinarySecrets Thank you so much. Your channel was the first one I found to explain laryngeal paralysis. He was not a candidate for surgery so we did all we could to help him. I had just started him on the turmeric tabs and honey. He was also taking anti-anxiety medicine and steroids. He was only 10 years old...10 days from his 11th birthday. Lucky Dog was a Stumpy Tail Australian Cattle Dog/American Eskimo mix. So beautiful and always so happy. I miss him so much.

Hi Dr. Jones. I love watching your videos. My female cat has mammary gland tumor and it is spreading fast. I have lost another of my cat because she had the same cancer and I took her to the vet and they did surgery to remove the tumor but then another tumor grew on her other mammary gland and she had another surgery. We thought the cancer had finished but it spread fast and she died. So I am not going for the surgery option for my other cat. I started to give her fenbendazole like u suggested for 60 days but it didn't work. Is there anything else I can give her. Please please suggest something I don't want to lose her.

Hi I have a Question,,I took my 10 year old Boston to vet today..she has always been a little overweight but I also have quit giving her kibble and started cooking and gettin as close to fresh meat and veggies as she has haissues before in past and other Boston had passed dues to CHF..I just read that CHF is leading cause of death in Boston Terriers..well she had some swelling it lloked like in stomach..no where else and a month ago a little bled rectally not very much and since going off kibble have not seen..But was con\cerned as she only wanted to eat half her food..she still eats and drink and even play alittle but walking has gone down to just a block and she will not chase her ball..I took her in a walk in ( they had tons of dogs today) anyway did fecal test for worms parasites ..checked her eggs and full blood work..and xrays of stomach area..I was sad at the results every thing was good except Her blood was elevated in liver ezymes and she was a little anemic ect..but her exrays showed nothing lodged in tummy but worse her intestines were pushed futher back to side..she has an enlarged heart and a mass of some king do not know if cancer but that is what causing her belly to look big..No fluid in her belly thou..They gave her a steriod shot as she has a little yeastly thing in small place on back and a antibotic twice a day and a pill that suppose to help liver enzyes..once a day for 30 days but says according to size and age nothing else can do but let her have quality of life as long as not in any pain..I am a health nut and recently started giving a little hawthorn tea with dandillion and a little cbd at night as she tends to find hard to lay down in certain positions,,I used to add turmeric to food and may go back to that and maybe orengo..I am makeing sure she is getting a little tuna and salmon for omega 3..Is there anything you know of that help shrink and prolong this? I had heard that rubbing castor oil can help shrink tumors topically..that castor oil penatrates the skin to go deeper? Thank you for any suggestions and or help..Patricia

Hi Dr Andrews, would you mind explaining in a video if Dogs can use Berberine as sugar control alternative treatment? . I have a almost four years pocket beagle that one year ago suffered some few seizures episodes. Dr in Alberta prescribed Phenobarbital,( Dr said that my dog was suposed to needit for life term). I didn't follow this prescription, I bought your ultimate CBD to prevent any seizure episode happening again. After almost a year and three month, my dog only have two moments when the seizure started, immediately we gave him the CBD and seizure, not only stop but didn't repeat. I am asking about sugar control, because my dog was diagnose for the Vet at the same moment of the first seizure with diabetic symptoms ,after a blood test he did this day. So I notice that the two times the seizure has repeated, my dog has increase the frequency and quantity of his urine , which in humans is related with people with sugar problems. if possible I know you are not allow to be vet in Canada , despite this you may give an opinion as very knowledgeable specialist in alternative medicine for animals. Thanks for your advices, you really care on animals. ❤

Writing a letter to your pet about how much they meant to you looking at the video. While they are alive buying a birthday hat banner making a video with them discussing how you met, what you felt on that day. Buying Christmas hats holidays hays taking pictures. So when they pass you watch the video.

I use the Kirkland grain-free dry dog foods at Costco and sprinkle Dr. Andrews' canine vitamin powder on top and mix it up. Very good ingredients and not crazy expensive. Also, give them good water if you can. And research natural remedies for humans and pets. And avoid vaccines.

When people pass, I'm really not concerned. When one of my dogs go, I'm destroyed. I really have no attraction to humans in general. Animals are REAL and people for the most part are PLASTIC that is, except for Dr. Jones. He's the best.
