Maangchi you should have seen the shape of my first ever dumplings that I just prepared 🙈😂😂😂. The dough was delicious thanks for the recipe! Your dumplings look amazing!!!! I think i have to practice a LoTT! 😂
This is the same recipe that my grandmother used for her Southern chicken and dumplings. I used your improved method of kneading and resting the dough and they were the best ever! Thank you for everything. 💜
I made khinkali (Georgian dumplings) a few weeks ago and froze the rest of the wrappers I made. Turns out, this recipe is exactly the same! Water, salt, all purpose flour and a LOT of kneading to get it soft. So excited to make Maangchi’s king mandu with them!
You are the best food doctor maachi!! Because of you I learnt and made loads of tasty vegan kimchi. Kimchi is possibly the best food on earth along with all the delicious side dishes. Korean food is developed over 1000s of years with such a history, to both gut and heart content, gourmet in every bite. Thank you for sharing this rich food culture with us. And I am already sharing these with my family and friends, some who are in culinary too. Love
Thank you Maangchi! I'm one of those viewers who finds it super hard to get any Korean food products but I've always thought it would be nice to try making mandu. I'll have to bookmark this recipe and give it a try. I love how you always explain things so clearly in your recipes, it helps give the courage to just go for it :)
if anyone watching this is considering making these, go do it!! i just made some and shes totally right about how easy this is. the dough really forms together in only 2 minutes and as long as you let the dough rest between kneading, its super easy to handle! definitely the best dumpling wrapper recipe ive ever used, maangchi is such a genuis!
I think everybody has at least one item in their home that was given by a special person at some point in their life, and that makes you think of that person each time you use the item. For me it's an antic thimble, handed to me by a close friend of mine, which belonged to his late grandmother. I have never met the woman, but I think of her each time I sew something by hand. I love having it in my sewing kit. Very precious to me. Thank you Maangchi for always telling sweet stories while you're cooking.
Hands are everywhere you go! It is so true how we get used to machines to do hard work that really is good for you to do. I know your hands will thank you later for using them so much and making them stronger! Arms and upper body too! You are so great to watch! I learn something each time I watch you.

Made these for the first time. Just loves them. Was hoping to freeze some but hubby ate the whole batch after I cooked them. Will just have to make more. Practice is a good thing when it comes to cooking.
I can't wait Maangchi. I hope I will get to make this someday. And I hope you come to Dallas one day as well. I love Korean people and culture. I try to use as much of the Korean I know when I visit the bazaar near my house. The shop keeper love it too.
Excellent methods!! Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Very entertaining, and great attention to all the vital detail. Love your headwear and colour scheme 😄☺😆
I made my first dumpling today, and i think i failed. When i steamed it, the edge of dumpling skin still too hard (i've steamed it for half an hour) Do you use warm water or cold water? And how much gr the flour is? Thanks 😊
Check out the recipe on my website, please. It has all the information you need. I always put the link to recipe in the description box of my videos. Good luck with your Korean cooking!
This happens sometimes when there's too much flour or your dough dried out while you were wrapping. If you are using an instant pot to steam your dumplings, I get hard dumpling edges when I use the "quick release" feature. You want the steam to release naturally on its own - you let them out too early you get hard edges. Hope this helps!
That happens if you leave the already-wrapped dumplings too long before you steam it. The edge (which doesn't get moisture from ingredient) gets dry. My suggestion is to wet your hand when you are about to steam it. Rub the edge with your wet fingers and put it immediately to the steamer.
A rich tutorial, and thank you so much. I understand about treasured/honored kitchen tools. Thank you for including your tribute rolling stick. I make my own dumplings in a rural setting in Kentucky, My rolling pin is adapted from a basic wooden handle with screw top for several cleaning tools. My dumplings are requested around the area.
Thanks for your lovely videos. I love Korean foods. Please tell me how is the volume for one cup that you used in this video and other videos. I'm really confuse about the gram with the cups.
Yay! Yummy! Can't wait to try this out! Ohhhh Maangchi! Can you show us how to make Chinese Sesame Seed balls with the red bean paste inside?, I wanted to try to make it, but I was looking and it's said it's one of the most difficult recipes because you have to make sure the balls expand evenly! :O SO I'd so love a demonstration and any help from you! I love these so much, but since I live in a small town, we don't have any Chinese bakery's, just a Chinese Buffet, and I want to have them fresh you know! :3
You used all purpose flour or whole wheat flour
It's all purpose flour.

I bought one 2 weeks ago. I don't know why it took me so long to own one.
Thank you for sharing your knowlege! I love to watch you cook and my family and I love to eat your recipes!
I made my first dumpling today, and i think i failed. When i steamed it, the edge of dumpling skin still too hard (i've steamed it for half an hour)
Do you use warm water or cold water?
My measuring cup 1 cup is 240 ML. Happy cooking!
Maangchi thanks for your kind reply💚💚💚
I tried it today and it turned out AMAZING, it's super easy to do, u don't need a lot of ingredients. THANK YOU 🙏👌
What measurements are the cups?
My measuring cup 1 cup is 240 ML. Good luck!
Thank You for sharing. You have very kind and sweet energy. I enjoy watching your videos!
Yay! :3
You are so talented, I love to watch your cooking show just to get cheer up, thanks!
