I’m a completionist. I would rather have one of everything over the best of anything. So a lot of my collection is mid-grade, with a fair amount of lower grade as well. I balance my desire to have a book in the collection with how much I’m willing to invest in a book just to check a particular box. Silver age key or book of significance I’m seriously interested in? Let’s pick up a nice one if we can. Random copper or modern book I’m buying just based off of nostalgia… mid-grade is fine. Pre-Code horror: is it in one piece? Let’s go!

For me it would have to be ASM121-131 for Bronze, TMNT 1-10 for Copper, or Walking Dead 1-10 if I wanted to do a modern series. But ASM121-131 would be my top pick.
Death of Gwen, Death of Green Goblin, EARLY Luke Cage appearance that is under appreciated, 1st Manwolf, Origin of Manwolf, 1st Punisher, 1st Jackal, 1st Spider-Car, and the Aunt May/Doc Oc wedding story. And Kangaroo and Vulture stories to fill in the gaps.

That is, one of the stories in Millie the Model issue 107 (cover-dated March 1962) has Jack Kirby as a character. Yes, that Jack Kirby. As drawn by Stan Goldberg. Assuming you can even find a copy, you can probably get it for $100 or less. I expect this one to appreciate in years to come, strictly due to novelty value and interest in Jack Kirby. Also, I wonder what Jack thought about it.

With the premiere of the show just a few weeks away, we are at or nearing the pre-show value swell books typically experience.
You didn't ask me, True Believer, but here are my choices for 10 tintinabullatin' classic Marvel comics from the swingin' '60s that you could maybe get for $100 total, if they were in awful condition -- Thor Annual 2 (the cover story is a wonderful one-shot comedy/adventure); Amazing Spider-Man 31-33 (arguably Steve Ditko's finest hour); Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos 18 (a hugely underrated tear-jerker, "Killed in Action"); Captain America 111 (arguably Jim Steranko's finest hour); Fantastic Four 57-60 (Doc Doom steals the Silver Surfer's powers). Yeah, okay, maybe you'd have to buy reprint editions of ASM 31-33 to keep it within the $100 budget. Regardless, face front!
Great list of books to get but I don't have a Spawn#1,I got something better a Spawn#1 Black and White CGC 8.0 which is the crown jewel of Spawn books besides Malibu Suns#13 which I will get one day. Can you do a video of your top 10 favorite comics and your top 10 most valuable comics cause I am sure you got some massive books and would love to hear your thoughts on why you picked those books.
@@CoMoComicBooks how about make a video of every key book you can get from $100 to $1.00 cause I have been buying every key I can get even if I already got a copy of it,I buy as many keys as I can find cause I know the keys will hold there value cause New Mutants#98 was a $1.00 boon for years and now you can't touch a copy of it less then $500.
I was going off of a loose average of eBay sold at the time leading up to recording. I did not include shipping, as I figured gas/travel cost would offset for brick and mortar shoppers.
It’s fun stuff, but what is most important is what do you think of it? If you like it and want to collect it, go for it! With the exception of UncX, there aren’t a lot of “investment” level books in those titles, but if you’re looking at them purely from a collecting standpoint, they are fine, especially if you enjoy them!
If you’re just starting out, I wouldn’t get too hung up on condition, unless that’s really important to you or you’re collecting as an investment and want maximum ROI on what you’re buying. If you’re collecting to enjoy the books, then I say give yourself some grace on condition. eBay is great if you’re looking for specific things and don’t want to wait to find it in the wild. If you’re not in a hurry or not targeting anything overly rare, I recommend hitting some smaller comic shows and LCSs in your area.

Start with a comic that you found that you liked. The probs with money and comics is their shouldn't be a link
