The cruise control on the Monte Carlo rarely or never worked because it was dependent on a stainless steal ball bearing chain smaller than a green pea. Ran through a cheap plastic “harness” that easily cracked from engine heat…. At least that was my experience experience with my first vehicle an old school Chevy k5. Not a mechanic in anyway from my side, but that is how I described the parts I discovered as a teenager workin and detailing it with all my love.

I got rear-ended by a Tesla a couple weeks ago. It was just a minor fender bender. The driver got out and walked up to me and his first words were "Sorry I don't know what happened I guess you're truck is so tall that my sensors didn't pick you up." He told the officer that did the police report that he was distracted. Give me the steering wheel and pedals I'm not ready to let Jesus take the wheel yet!
Love my 6.2 Trail Boss. Did a lot of mods similar to yours and it looks great! Also, I’m originally from Ft. Worth now living in Omaha and this video sure makes me miss Texas! 🤘🏻 Thanks for the vids! BTW, I’m a Parts Manager at a Chevy dealer so if you ever need anything…😉
The biggest problem with all the Cameras are you have to have a trailer attached for them to work. Why can't they work all the time? I know of some aftermarket Cameras that come on with Turn Signals and Display press. COME ON GM, Fix this.
Don’t hate on the 2.7 HO Engine. I daily drive a ‘23 1500 2 wheel drive Crew Cab with one. It does everything I need it to do and more. Yeah they do t have the “truck sound” but they beat the 5.3 speed in towing.
Agree with the button for park it’s so weird. But like the shifter rather than a knob. Also funny how the boomers are with all the new tech. My dad thought my zr2 stalled on him because of the auto stop 😂 Love the videos with your dad. Core memories

From your neighborhood.... The 3.0 has a huge factory problem with the coolant flow control valve. Under warranty! Can't get the $380 part from GM over 4 months! Just at my dealer,11 waiting for it also! Stay away from GM. They support line doesn't care! Very very bad!!
If you did not know it, with those electronic shifters, as soon as you turn off the truck, it will go into park automatically. So as long as you turn off truck before exiting, there is no worry of it being in park or not.

The 2.7 pulled quicker than my 5.3 the 5.3 is the worst engine gm has which is sad 5.3 383 tq 2.7 430 is just pathetic gm needs to stop selling the 5.3 like they got rid of the 4.3
You shouldn't have to worry about the push button park because once you open the driver door if it's still in gear it should automatically switch into Park. My Lincoln MKZ has that option it's standard on All trim packages. Because the Lincoln MKZ has had push button transmission control since 2013.
I’ve been using supervise for over a year now and I love it. I use it in Los Angeles with heavy traffic without any issues it’s awesome. Last weekend I was coming back from the Palm Springs in heavy wind using super cruise no issues. Steady as can be. I’m a fan!
Man, I have a 2021 GMC AT4, and love what you're doing with this. It had some cool mods before I bought it, but plan on keeping it for a while and wanting to upgrade/customize it more. In Texas too!
I just bought a 24 high country I love almost everything about it although I didn't get the super cruise function I have everything else and the only thing I'm changing is the audio system cuz that Bose crap sucks... Worst speakers I've ever had in a brand new vehicle
I’ve dumped the bose system from every truck Ive owned with it. I don’t know why people think it’s so good? It’s such junk! I wish my truck had my Merc E550’s factory Harmon Kardon L7 system, probably one of the best factory stereos I’ve personally ever heard.

Seems just like the driver assist that my wife has in her volvo since mid 2010's and it's not a subscription and it doesn't require the road to be cataloged and it doesn't need to be updated with new data and more.
With the new shifter you can just turn off the truck and it automatically goes into park. You don't ever really need push the park button and it impossible for the truck to accidentally just roll away once the engine if off (unless intentionally put it into neutral, which is also a whole procedure). I never use the P button on my 22.5 LTZ.
Your comment about long road trips and being refreshed at the end, is 100% true. I have a 2024 Denali and have used supercruise for extended periods of time. On long road trips, I used to need a power nap at the end, but now I'm ready to go whenever I get to my destination. The only have two or three complaints about the system. 1. In stop and go traffic, if the car in front of you floors it, then your truck also floors it, but then the car in front gets on the brakes, the truck lags a second and then slams on it's brakes. It's a pretty jarring experience. I've learned to get behind semis in traffic for this reason, but then it takes longer to get through the traffic because of all the cars that cut off / get in front of semis. 2. When the autocruise flashes red to make you take control, 90% of the time, it starts hitting the brakes kind of hard even through I've already taken control. I've tried hitting the cancel button, hitting the gas pedal, and various other methods. It gets annoying pressing the gas trying to override the brakes because I've already taken control and it jolts the passengers. 3. When the truck slows down due to a slower car in front, if the car moves or you change lanes, 50% of the time, the truck just outright floors the accelerator trying to get back up to speed. I really wish they would make it adjustable so i could have it gradually speed back up and not feel like I'm trying to race someone.
Not sure what model BMW you have, but I had a 2008 and if you even thought about opening the door while in drive, it would violently slam it into park.
@@00sean00 it was an x1 awd and this was newer than 2008 it was like a 2015 and I was stopped thought I hit park opened the door and went inside and came outside to see it crashed into a guard rail. I have the pictures of it still.
