I can defiantly hear it and it would be perfect to hear little clips of his theme in different tracks in this game, giving the vibe of him always looming over your adventure!
There's definitely a connection there! The sky islands theme does descend where Ganondorf/Hyrule Castle theme goes back up on the third note but I for agree that that motif is being used!!! THATS A HUGE CATCH DUDE
Firstly: this is the first of a series of videos that will be releasing every Sunday this month of April!! Secondly: I want to acknowledge that, this theme isn’t Ganon’s verbatim, especially that 3rd note. But the tone of it drove me crazy with how similar it felt! Lastly: thank you so much for watching! In terms of views this early, it’s my best video in over 2 years! Glad you seemed to get as much enjoyment out of it, as I did when making it! Onward to this weekend’s upload! :D
It's definitely not the same. A lot of Zelda theorists think that similar instruments and just two notes being similar is evidence. The last third note is not even the same. In Ganons theme it is higher than the two preceding notes, whereas in totk it is lower than the preceding notes.
It quite literally sounds like OOT's Ganondorf theme to me personally, and it also sounds very reminicent of something in BOTW, I just can't place my finger on it
It's true that perhaps it would be Ganondorf's theme and if so it would be there to remind us that at the time we play Ganondorf is always somewhere and that he is a threat no matter where we are 🤔
Bro, you're actually spot-on. I SWEAR I recognized this immediately as "ganondorf" sounding. Looking back, it was thematically appropriate given that 2 minutes before this, home-chicken just rocked your sh*t and took 27 of your 30 hearts.
So being that twilight link is being rereleased with majoras link I think both of those games have some sort of characterization in the game with the overall theme, and game overall
it's been speculated that the Zonai people were in league with Ganon or worshipped him etc before defiling all boar statues in BOTW. Since the sky islands and TOTK are so heavily into the Zonai vibe, it wouldn't surprise me if the devs did use that musical motif of the first 3 notes to tie the two even closer together. Even if it's in a different key and time signature from OoT, TP, and WW's themes for Ganondorf and his tower. This also makes the sky islands a bit more ominous- what strange things happened here in the past, what atrocities did canon potentially commit 10k years ago that make these islands have these notes specifically in their OST?

It does sound a lot like Ganon’s theme and even if it’s not, the sky theme does sound very ominous and uneasy. Good vid
It sounded peaceful to me

Duddde it was buggin me for so long haha. It has such a familiar vibe

Woah you're totally right! Just further goes to show that the sky islands might not be as cheery as people think
my eyes popped out at 2:58
i hear a leitmotif of majora's mask clock town tbh
I think the third note is not quite the same, but I get it how it reminds you of Ganondorf's theme.
i also thought this was ganons theme as well, it's very spot on.
I could’ve sworn I heard it, I thought I was just crazy
Awesome intro and awesome theory! There definitely is a connection between the two soundracks
Thanks Bonk!
Yes, it sounds like it but on the other hand, semitones downwards are so commonly used in film and video game scores

No waaaaay haha! i still gota play the ending lol
Great upload. I think you're on to something very interesting video !!!
Thanks!
Thank god i thought that i was just making Things Up when i heard the music and thought about ganons theme.
So being that twilight link is being rereleased with majoras link I think both of those games have some sort of characterization in the game with the overall theme, and game overall
not me thinking it sounds like the underlying melody from the clock town theme :0
i liked how it gave an omnous feeling to the sky islands, it suggests that with each new island you discover, the closer you get to ganon
Oh, I heard it clearly alright, that sounded a lot like Ganon’s theme and it is fitting since the Demon King’s presence in the game is very well felt.
In the first trailer for totk (back when it was just called the sequel), you can hear ganon's theme as they show Ganon fall backwards.
Oh shit, really?!
I’m hearing marjora’s theme
Super Hype Even if it's not I'm just gonna believe it IS!
Another indicator this game is gonna be dark. Yay! 🙌🏻

Great insight Nicky
The first one I definitely heard the first time around and was gonna look up and see if anyone agreed loll I'm glad someone else heard it
Oot Ganons tower
That's creepy I heard it 😳
It sounds exactly the same. But the last note goes a little lower.
The essay was interesting, though the outro was dorky af.
Lmao I can't think of a better word than dorky
🤓
