Words of wisdom....'wear gloves'
Doesn't have to, his god will save him...
God works in mysterious ways
I bought my one new. Same model, same year, same colour, and fitted with the paniers. I love this bike, great cornering, great power and fantastic riding in the mountains near my city. Interestingly, letting the tyres down to 30 psi also means it behaves very well (60mph/100kmh) on gravel/ unsealed roads. Not planning to change anytime soon even taking in to account of my 65+ age
You okay ? Still riding it ?
What amazes me is that the sticky notes never fall off. I can't get one to stick to my desk. Yours stay stuck at 80 lol
Watch this before you Consider a Kawasaki Versys 1000.
I watched it and left no better off, apart from thinking you should be wearing gloves.
thanks for saving me 10 minutes
And the lord sayeth, "Wear thee some gloves please. Amen."
Hahahaha
I absolutely cannot ride without gloves
scotte42 me either
I absolutely WILL NOT ride without gloves.
I'm the same.Safety first and foremost!
@@burnerjack01 I picked my bike up from the dealership after warranty repair work - and I realized I forgot my gloves. I had to buy a pair just a ride home. From the dealership. At full price...😢
I bought this exact bike.
I love mine.
It's a Ninja1000 tuned down ,lower compression , a real rocket.
It's about 120H.P. and something like 80Ft.Lbs. of torque.
With the 6 speed gearbox , it's top end speed is around 145MPH.
This bike has a bit higher road clearance , but loves to lean in low on the tight turns.
At around 550 LBS. in weight ,it is a very nimble bike.
Doesn't really matter how fast you are going , it WILL lift that front tire up at most any speed if you are not careful.
A fun ride.
I've ridden mine all day and that seat makes the difference , not sore at all.
I have one with 50/50 tires... guess what? amazing offroad capabilities... I go where the GSs go... the Tigers.... sometimes I outperform them
Interesting...I might try that too but I'm a little scared about the weight
Brother I appreciate your quoting scripture before rides, caught my attention from the first time watching.
Keep doing what your doing. Your being a voice to the thousands. Stay faithful. God Bless always.
I love God so much he is so sexy
nice bike. The guy at 4:20 has probably seen you many times and said to him self "I wonder which direction he is going because he never uses turn signals" ;);) If you want to be seen while your riding please help by using turn signals
We was going straight lol
haha
@@lonewolf4315 well he vould have been nice about it and used his strait indicator. Well he did use his hand.
My left ear loved this video
FYI: there's a great little plugin called "toMono" that fixes this.
I have the 2017 versys 1000LT. Real flickable, stable and sporty in the corners. It has the updated dash too. The stock seat is very comfortable but I got a corbin, even better.
Is it heavy? Also how's the seat height? Is it only for tall riders?
Its 550lbs wet so its not too bad. When you are at a stop or walking it around, you can feel the weight. But as soon as you get going it all disappears. I think the seat height is around 33in. Its tall but manageable(Can flatfoot both feet), I have a ~34in inseam. Shorter riders might have some difficulties, but its easily balanced. I also have a Holeshot Corbin seat on it. My wife and I attempted a tour and had to turn back because of hurricane Florence, got almost 900miles on that trip. Was super comfortable and easy to ride.
@@Quagmire88 Oh nice. You were just short of the iron butt challenge. But good to know. I'm* guessing no mechanical issues during that whole trip?
I've been in a Versys 1000 since 2013 and I say it's a good sport touring. It is not a big trail as initially commented, but it is very comfortable and with good autonomy. Unfortunately it lacks cruise control and front lighting in led but I believe the next model should have.
I must really want one because I been looking at them online for over a month 🤦. I think I've gotten bored with big v twins after 20 years. I want to enjoy a inline 4 cylinder and be comfy at the same time . This may be how I can do it. I think a kawasaki inline 4 sounds glorious !
Did you get a KV1?
Take the bags off to go full hooligan mode. Power (F). Traction control (1) or Off. The platform is very versatile. Great handling with the 17 inch front. Upright seating. Comfortable. 40 mpg. Great for sport touring or two up riding as well.
Read up on using the controls before your test ride.
My left ear thanks you!
FYI: there's a great little plugin called "toMono" that fixes this.
Hey Shawn,
You took a chewing in the comments, lol
as a non believer the words of wisdom, well I think there great
and I loved the enthusiasm while you were on the bike apparently
its awesome.
Keep Smiling
no gloves ? so.. do we really need to watch a video where the rider doesn't know all the controls of the bike he tries ? ... hmm
62MPH and doing wheelies in a residential 35MPH zone. 🤦🏻♂️
Sometimes I don't wear gloves on a short trip, buy I always always feel like something is missing, same if I forget my motorcycle boots and wear regular boots and shoes
In my first ride today accidentally did a full wheelie, yeah I almost pooped myself LOL, this thing is a monster for wheelies, so beginner beware, take your time to learn and get used to it, because this is no little bike. And make sure you wear the brown pants, because you will s*** yourself if he accidentally drop the clutch at 60 in first gear, If you were like me and thought You shifted up and look at the pretty clouds above. I highly recommend getting a gear indicator, I just ordered one off Amazon and will be installing it immediately
Those do look like awesome bikes!
And with all that ripping around at 5:00 point, Words of Wisdom sticky note is still stuck! Impressive!
I have a versys 650 and it's super nice, I am dying to have a go on the 1000 as well...
When I turned 11 or 12 I got a second hand Suzuki 1980ish ts125 and even if it's 40years old, I havent since then riden on another bike (even in the same class) that is as nimble and eager to turn as that old thing (for a road legal 125 it weigh only like 95kg!! And it is literally indestructible). The versys 650 (IMHO) is the only bike so far coming close to that suzuki.
Confirmed, that motor is taken out of the Ninja 1000, but is detuned down to around 120hp and has a very fat midrange for a 4 banger.
mrvwbug44 ZX-10R ?
@@BoZhaoengineering Z1000sx
Yep it’s possible to adjust the screen whilst riding and have a major accident
I want that bike.
It'll trade you a Gold Wing, a 1000 V Strom, 2 chickens and a duck.
...It's a really nice, low mileage duck....
+Ed Gregorowicz send me a picture of the duck
Gonna have to wait until tomorrow.... Raining cats and chickens up here in Columbia County (PA) at the moment
and frankly, I don't really wanna research that whole "Like water off a duck's back" thing any more tonight.
Besides, I think he went out for the evening.
It's Dollar Duck night at the local multiplex.
I can send some pics of the bikes though.
The have no social life outside of me.
Ed Gregorowicz I went from Versys 1000 Mark 1 to V strom 1000 2017 because I wanted a little bit of off road capability. But i want to go back....
You should have read the owners manual first and then bought some gloves and gear to wear while riding it.
Have you ever heard the phrase "dress for the slide , not the ride"??
BTW I bought this exact bike and love mine.
I bought this exact model ,year and color.
Love it.
It is VERY nimble and loves to corner and pull that front wheel up regardless of what gear you are in.
Go easy on the throttle though and loves to run high speeds.
It has plenty of power for it.
If you go easy on the throttle it will get around 50 MPG .
NOw: wear some gloves , wear a high visibility vest or jacket when you ride.
This is a #550 mid sized bike , people won't see you blasting down the road , believe me.
BTW top end is around 145 MPH.
IF you ever plan on riding double with a passenger , DO NOT waste your money on the 650 cc model.
2009 mechanic,
Have you owned the 650 version? How does the power difference compare to the 1000?
The 650 versys sucks bigtime.... I bought one new and regretted it. The engine sucks....its uncomfortable.....the windscreen created the WORST buffeting Ive ever experienced once hitting 40mph... Brutal. The 1000 is a completely different machine altogether.
@@shreksexy6879 I own a 2009 Versys 650.
You can Believe that it is plenty fast, easy to wheelies, and plenty fun to ride..It has the most comfortable stock seat of any motorcycle in it's class. You could ride 2up across country, with the same comfort and ease as riding on 1000, (except that the 650 is 100 lbs. Lighter than the 1000.
The Stock Windscreens on all Verseys Motorcycles are too small for functional comfort, and should be upgraded.
The Stock Exhaust on a Versys 650 really sucks, too !
You must ride a Versys 650 with a slip-on Exhaust in order to enjoy & appreciate the 650 engine's performance....
Otherwise, even I might agree and say that the Versys 650 isn't a terrific motorcycle.
Jesus, normalize the audio on your intro and outro to the rest of the video. RIP headphone users.
+Nytron working on that. Thanks for watching
Who edited this? 😂
That was a brutal intro cut XD
What are your thoughts on this 1000 vs the 650?
It’s heavier and more powerful than the 650.
🤷🏻♂️
Yes that's correct it's the 1043cc motor but I believe tuned differently
Frank Malone More torque on low rev. Little bit of valve adjusment and mapping of the ECU I think. But you get better fuel economy and more comfortable handling at low speed.
Hi
I'm not sure how you obtain these bikes if you buy them from auction or what but I would love to see you try out the Versys-X 300 if you can get your hands on one
"off road" does not mean dirt. My Orange 2015 KV1 has been on the track and the street.
All the gear all the time dude!
But fun vid.
no cruise control is the only bummer about this model.
How would this compare to a tracer 900?
I'm searching for the Same comparison
how does it compair for a ADV or dual sport? As far as terrain, power etc..
Power settings F for Fun and L for Lame
Ground clearance and gear indicator are the cons of this machine
Sean I know your a experienced Motocycle rider dude where are your gloves.....? Take a look at road rash of people who don’t where gear, I ride a scooter and a Kawaski no matter what... I’m at the least helmet and gloves is a definite! Love your reviews my brother but gloves bro! ✌🏾
Hey Srkcycles, the bike is even more fun without having level 2 traction control on lol. You can turn it off by coming to a stop and just pressing select twice and it should be up all the way for KTRC to be turned off. Yes I see this vid is already nearly a month old, but if you still have that bike, maybe give it a round 2? Keep up the good work and ignore the hate, your words of wisdom every vid make your vids wholesome and unique, not a hindrance.
Amen to that! Keep spreading God’s word!
These are nice bikes. If I bought any newer bike I would choose one where I could turn all electronic aids OFF and they stay that way.
Greatings
Have you maybe done video with BMW S 1000 XR ?
He shouldn't ...he will kill himself... treat an XR like that and bye bye
I test drove one and told my wife to forbid me from buying one. You really wont live pass one ride if you don’t have self-control. Its insanely fast
Seems awesome but im a cruiser guy. I would probably get into all sorts of trouble on anything resembling a sport bike. Lol.
I should add, i wouldn't turn down a free ride on one. :D
I was a cruiser guy 2005 vtx, you will be fine. PS a versys does not mean you have to stop being a cruiser guy.
That is true on my black harley i get cut off alot but on my yellow and black gsxr600 i never got cut off once nock on wood
love the bike, nice motor
Click-bait title for a first ride review.
I put a leg over one of these. My only issue is that they're kinda tall and wide.
My 2018 V 1000 has a gear positioner from new
I love that you start each video with scripture. Best bike reviewer on UA-cam!
Im 6'6 should I get the 650 or just get this as a new rider?
Have you ridden this versys for more than an hour on the freeway nonstop? How was your feet and hands after? Mine goes numb from the 650 due to the vibrations
I've owned my V1K for 2 years. No vibrations. Very smooth and comfortable bike for long distances.
@@neologicspasms what year is yours?
Gear indicator on dash should be a given. My FJR has one as standard. My little Ninja 300 got an aftermarket gear indicator put on it, what a difference. The aftermarket gear indicator actually can be configured to show other information like temperature and voltage, so why aren't other things like engine temperature not shown also if the motorcycle monitors those things anyway. Ninja 300 has space on dashboard for an "eco" display, which is totally meaningless.
I got a 2017 and it's got one in the top right hand corner of the display idk about his
What happened to the setupe to sixty run?!
Yes same motor ninja 1000 ...
The Gt does have gear display,I put a gel pad on it,as I went from uk to Holland, Germany,Poland,Czech,Germany and Holland again then home,a gel seat pad was great with this bike,
Awesome bike. But Im wondering after watching your videos for a while now, do you ever get ticketed after airing videos ? Like in this one at least twice you documented yourself doing at least 53 mph while going past a 25mph sign ?
Also doesnt really promote safe riding
You should endorse Post-it Notes.
what brand is your coat? Thnx !!
Yes the speed limit...
no sound!?
How long was the 0-60?
Where are the opportunities in Florida?
SEAN! PLEASE. Finish this video!!! These bikes are too good for this half finished video! @srkcycles
Words of wisdom..... ride the shit out of a bike then sell it....lol
Why don’t you do some research before your reviews
Some type of a commercial took over the video about 15 seconds in, I never made it to the end of the video..Something about tank straps? I don’t know what the video was about, I just went to another video
You actually spent more time reviewing than actually watching the ad! Lol. We know you really watched it all ;)
Great bike
LOL, i ride in the Philippines with no gloves, have a biker tan, white finger tips!
Lol
If you are gonna demo a bike, how about you look up with the features are when you push a button ? Sales 101 duh !
+cole098 I sell 30 bikes a month with out trying. How many do you sell?
Srkcycles boom. Keep up the content bro. This bike looks sick!
Hey, sucess is awesome, but Mr. Scripture look to Proverbs..
Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.
Perhaps if you knew how to use them you'd sell 60.
Srkcycles - Sure you do. Stupid people can easily relate to you.
I had a 16 650LT. Too tall of a bike for me. Rode well if you like this kind of bike,
How tall are you? Also what's your inseam?
I'm 5'7, no clue of my inseam and I can ride it fine
This guy is why they make replacement fork seals. Plus why people think kids on bikes are idiots. This guy obviously has very little actual experience.
Boy, are you the wrong boy to review that sort of bike. :D
Sean that was the worst best review you've ever done. You were having way to much fun and forgot we were watching. Haha.
haha thats the fastest ive seen you go and looks a fun bike
You should learn the controls instead of saying you don’t know what they are.
No sound only the advert than no sound
Dude hot I'm I. ARIZONA. LOL God bless. Love your videos.
lol that editing XD
Great video. To bad people mock your faith.
Wish you fell of you could show us how clever it is to ride glove free
Does it have cruise control ?
tony k. I think they put it in 2019 model not in this one
What's with the prayer before the ride
Power settings F for Fun and L for lame
Or cruise control
hrmm nice skin you have there on those hands, gloves make it two skin layers. ride safe dude.
RIP Headset users.
You hop on a bike and do a video and don't know the ride modes? Contols?
is this bike too big for me?
im 5’4
Yes. 100%. I'm 5'8" and it's a challenge.
Not inexperienced, either. Had a BMW R1100R before that, and a couple variations of Yamaha 600 before that.
Yes, it is too tall for you, honestly not close, maybe the 650.
Motorcycle review not preaching fictional stories.
also yes that is a ninja 1000 engine
Miles or km???
61 in a 25 zone. Ya, that's the 'speed limit'. 😉
Came here for motorcycle content, not a sermon. Unsubbed.
Wolvrai Sockmonkey… goodbye!
Wolvrai Sockmonkey what’s so bad about spreading a positive message?? The Gospel is so much more, but for those who don’t believe it, it still has great values and principles. The world would be a better place without your type of attitude. Too bad
there is no big picture, if there is a god he doesnt care...
goodbye little angel :'(
There is a God and he does care for you and everyone else. Just take a look at creation. It takes more faith to believe there is no God than to believe there is one. Ask God into your life for yourself and talk to to Him daily. I promise you from experience you won't be disappointed:)
With the clickbait title, one would assume we would be getting pros and cons, and comparisons to other bikes in the class. What we get, is a guy who was utterly clueless about how the bike functions what the controls do, but likes to use the word crazy a lot.
Do you actually know anything about the bike? Maybe do some research and you can determine more than just if it does a wheelie.
That bike is a mile muncher... Jeez, would be hard to keep that under a 100
