I’ve had this bike for 3 years and I’ve put on almost 18,000 miles since new. Plenty of power, good comfort and crazy fun in the canyons. Fun zone starts at 4,000 RPM so don’t short shift it. Only thing missing is a shat drive.
Hey, you found my bike! Nice! I bought mine used with all the luggage, center stand, Akropovic full exhaust, fog lights and a sturdy skid plate. I've had it for about a year now and it works great for me. It's got all the power I could ever need without feeling like an uncontrollable super bike. Handles great and can carry loads of gear for road trips. It's quite sporty too but I don't push it too much. You did an accurate review of the bike and I'm glad you like it as much as I do. Cheers! 😁👍
This is an ST bike and it does everything well. The best part of it is the comfort that it offers. To be honest it is very hard to find a more comfortable bike, at least for the money. Well done. Enjoyed.
S1000XR, Suzuki GSX-S1000GX, Tracer 9(triple), Triumph Sport 1050 (triple and older). But there are plenty of those crossover bikes. And they're rightfully successful and arguably more of what people are looking for who are now driving adventure bikes. At least if you don't intend to leave the road.
Most big ADV bikes are kept anyway on the road and are too heavy to make serious off road riding . With exception to perhaps forest tracks , they're arguably rather useless and it's mostly the marketing that sells "great expectations".
I’d love to ride one for a day. I can’t stand riding a sport bike bec of the seating position so this Kawasaki is as close as I could get to one with that 4 cylinder 1000. And the seating position is much better! I’ve always rode Harley’s so I’ve never got to ride a 4 cylinder bike much. But I could ride this versys 👍.
I think you found the right spot! We dont need new offroad touring bikes like the GS. But everyone is buying it and only ride it on the streets... And you need to get on the bike over the pegs, it is so much easier😀 Very nice review!
It is subjective, of course. But I would call Versys 1000 beautiful. The proportions work for me. I would ask a person who hates the bike to name a few they find atttractive. Not that it would prove them wrong but just as a study in esthetics :-)
Not only Ducati has V4, also the Honda VFR 1200 X Crosstourer what l ride. Unfortunatelly no more in production since 2020. Great concept with kardan and DCT, upside down fork at the front, single rear lever.
I especially like the idea of not being able to shift out of 1st gear into 2nd at a stop for safety reasons obviously. I’ve never understood why people shift into neutral at a stop!?! If someone is about to rear end me , when l am already in 1st, I can just escape the danger if I have allowed myself enough room to get out of the way! I find Harley Davidson bikers are notorious for shifting into neutral at stops so they can rev up! Thanks for the very detailed, informative and concise review of this high tech Tourer. Awesome! 🇺🇸 👍✌️
maybe its mostly a Problem in the US. I see your Point, but i don't want to hold my Clutch on every stop... And being on the Shifter to escape is nearly as fast as holding the clutch

Concerning the looks I have to disagree: The himalayan (both) look okay to good. The motoguzzi v85TT is also okay to nice and the r1300gs in the green color scheme is also not too bad. But yeah there is not true beautiful aADV
Had that same model and color for a little over a year. Great bike with great build quality but it was a little too vanilla for me. Didn't have the character I wanted. I sold it and bought a s1000XR.
S1000XR has electronics, suspension, abs etc + more HP and less weight... and all that since 2015. I owned kawasaki and like the brand but Versys compared to XR or Multi is too heavy, too slow and previous model has no good suspension compared to the others. And yes, amount of HP is important when you ride with passenger and luggage. The only thing is price
Different uses. I just got one of these because it's the most comfortable bike my wife and I tried 2 up this side of a Gold Wing. Also, these are dirt cheap in the USA as no one sells these are full MSRP.
@@furr666 Inline4 engine is kinda boring, especially on an adventure bike. Also the bike was really bulky. Lastly the look of it is up to you, but I didn't like it 😊

thats right. But i think the s1000 xr and GX is a lot sportier

This has nearly settled it for me. I’ll try a test ride and that should be the final bit to confirm the Versys 1000 will be my next bike. Nice review!
Brilliant bike. Handling is so sweet.
I have the se GT 2019 version . I added the sw-motech pro tank bag ring and bag, sat nav mount and belly pan. Bike came with all the luggage,
Kawasaki is just collection of geniuses , may be bit heavy and overcomplicated but there is not way around it today .
The spoon of conviction is here to stay, sauce or no sauce.
Now that was funny, great line!!! “The Spoon 🥄 Of Conviction”!! 😅🤣😂👍

I think this isn't an adventure bike. It's purely designed for tarmac. Classic Touring Bike i would say.

That's true. I get on mine like I was getting on a horse.
Yes I know but putting the bike every time on the center stand to get on is annoying 😬
@@FreeMilesMC no, you leave it on the side stand and then climb over the pegs ;) you don't need the center stand
Yep. Side stand holds my 230lbs no problem. Get on it as mounting a stallion.
I think every bike in existence has been named the ADV unicorn at this point, except for the Hayabusa, which is my current ADV Unicorn.
It's not ugly at all. Looks great. The previous gen was disgusting.

This is not really an ADV, it is more of a sports tourer in adv guise. Just like a BMW XR

It seems we are witnessing the evolution of the sports/tourer….
Yes you could be right ☺️
the first 1000 Versys was around 2012...
Nice review, gj, but got question about phone mount. Which one u got there and how did you connect it? Can't see it on video.
Versys 1000 amazing bike, but want it next to my t7 nog to replacement
Both are super cool

They made sport tourer and called it ADV coz those sell better :D
I test rode a versys in 2008 so I don't think they called it an adv. Kawasaki calls it a sports touring bike
I'm sold on it. I'd like a heated seat though.
whats the difference in Versys SE and SE LT+? we don't get the SE LT+ here in the Philippines this year.
Good job on the video: but you can't see the Tach in the video
Looks like my bike! Though I’m looking for something lighter.
I love it but its weight deters me. Sadly the Versys 650 is a little lacking in power. I would love to see a Versys 800

Nice review. But something can’t be “very unique”. It’s either unique, or it’s not. There are no degrees of uniqueness.
Before watching I just want to say I tried it and hated it 😁
How come?

I don't think your review of the bike is correct. You're just content producer, thar has not put any miles on the versys 1000
unsimetric bike
All adv Bikes are ugly 😂😂😂 as streetfighter rider i fully agree and the ugliest are BMW GS with Motorparts 1 m outside of the Bike
