We’re constantly getting shafted with physical media releases in Australia but Umbrella and Imprint are both constantly giving us the good.
It also helps that I work at a store that stocks Imprint so I can get them at a discounted price lol
That's cool. Which store may I ask? I live in Toronto and Bay Street Video stock them. I did the video essay on Thom Yorke's score for the Suspiria 4K release.

The remake is satanic.
I wouldn’t recommend the imprint Blair witch release, some behind the scenes folks have gone on record against the release, and apparently a better and more cohesive second sight release is on its way, presented in the way it was originally supposed to be.

The first Blair Witch is an unnecessary upgrade from Blu-ray. The 2nd one is an unnecessary watch.

I saw that movie when I was about 12 and it blew me away. I have a feeling Kino is going to do a 4K, especially if I buy the Imprint version.

Hi Ken. I think as far as being entertaining, Death Valley is probably the best movie out of all of these. I love it man. It’s a damn fine movie.
I was surprised just how fast Suspiria 2018 went OOP. I love it tho. I honestly think it’s better than the original.
Still pissed at myself for passing on that. I just couldn't spare the cash.
@@Theomite Last I checked, the cheapest copy I found online was $70. The Guest is another one that has gone out of print in record time.

Blair Witch looks best on DVD and VHS. Keeps the raw found footage look. Not meant to look HD.
I need to see how it looks upscaled on OLED.
The blu ray is fine. I don’t know why you would want it on 4K. I saw it twice in the theater in 1999 and it really was a freaky experience.

Kino Lorber is upgrading their The Antichrist to an 4K disc. For those who don’t know, it’s an Italian rip-off of The Exorcist.

Besides Suspiria, that Polanski box set is what interest me the most. Bitter Moon (1992) in particular is a great -albeit very dark movie. Erotism but approached in a deep, complex way. Highly recommended.
Yeah his films dig deep ...his films are next level....no wonder we still getting excited for China Town. I got my eye on the box set.
Death and the maiden is excellent. 9th gate interesting but flawed. Never seen Bitter moon
@@user-rf7yy9qg4b I not seen Bitter moon 🌙 though heard it really good. Instead of Ninth Gate they shouldve done Tenant, Repulsion or Tess which I remeber seeing are very very good. Hope we see releases in 4k though I doubt it; hence this probably a rare opportunity to get his films.

I have the German Suspiria box set from a few years ago which had both versions of the movies on 4K, BD, and CD’s of the soundtracks. The Synapse edition of the original blows away the transfer of this one. The remake will most likely be similar.
When are we getting Scream 4 4K
Imprint have sturdy nice quality box sets, website says limited to 1,500. Blair witch would probably be the first on bluray. I was blown away with the 4k Chinatown, so I now got my eyes on that Roman Polanski box with Bitter Moon, Ninth Gate. . I already have Susperia on 4k
Blair Witch is one of those movies I will double, triple, quadruple, quintuple (etc) dip for. The best found footage film ever. Will definitely be purchasing that box set and Suspiria 2018. Imprint does gorgeous work with their hard boxes, I have their set of The Orphanage and it is stunning
Out of these I'd really like that Blair Witch, if Diabolik has a better looking price on it. Already mulling over ordering Caligula and the Body Double 4K steelbook from them.

Have no interest in buying Blu-Ray when the technology is there for 4K.
Personally I'm passing on this one. Will stick with the blu ray of Suspiria (2018). I find it too expensive for a film that I don't love enough to justify buying it. I do own the Synapse Argento 4k though.
Does Imprint tend to lock the blu-ray discs to region B?

I assume Diabolik and Orbit pick up these titles wholesale which is why they sometimes come cheaper on their sites. (And also you’re not paying the import shipping like you said)

I'd be interested in THE NINTH GATE as a stand-alone release but it has to be properly re-scanned. The previous Blu-ray was horrible. It's not a very good movie--it's the least scary R-rated Satanic movie ever made--but it's pure book porn for bibliophiles. But those special features look great!
Best thing here is the Polanski boxset, including Bitter Moon and Ninth Gate. I think Suspiria remake is crap. Blair Witch boxset is kinda cool but Book of Shadows is also crap lol. I'll wait for another release. Not seen the other films. Easy pass on all the above 😅.
Suspiria is an Amazon produced movie. Why don't we have one (4k that is) in the states? There already is a 4k disk. So, I don't think Imprint is having to do anything other than distribute this.
They did the restoration. It's on Amazon Prime sans HDR10. Imprint gave it the HDR10 pass.

It's not the first 4k. They did Sam Peckinpah's 1977 war movie Cross Of Iron on 4k.

I would buy Ninth Gate if Imprint did a standalone. Looks like it’s the same scan from the previous Blu-ray but I am intrigued by the extras.
That Blu-ray was atrocious. The Artisan DVD was better!

Gummo and the Val Lewton double pack are great announcements. The Seventh Victim is very interesting, not seen by a lot of people. I think a lot of people are excited for I Walked With a Zombie and Gummo. That said I'm biased, I worked on the Suspiria 4K so I'm so happy people can finally pick it up and I can actually speak on it.

Are imprint titles region locked?
Not the ones I’ve played.
I just watched the Suspiria remake after years of avoiding it because I'm a huge fan of the original and didn't think it needed a remake. It was...so...bad. I'm pretty used to long movies, but they could have literally trimmed a whole hour and completely cut a few characters and nothing would have been missed.
That said, I'm excited for the Second Sight release of Book Of Shadows that's rumored for the fall. One of the individuals involved in the making of Book Of Shadows said that everyone should wait for that release from Second Sight, as it is the more complete release and comes with newly added features/possible scenes. The Imprint release does not.

The Blair witch project is so overrated and not that good & definitely not worth owning at any price. And death Valley is boring and not a good at all.
Blair Witch was OK for one watch, at least back when it was released. I admire the concept, but most of the movie is about people lost in the woods arguing about which direction to walk in. Even though it’s been 25 years, I don’t think I could rewatch it.
It was an amature budget spook flick... famous because it was new style in film directing. 1st time cinema viewers experienced such a rough style.
I really like the Blair Witch.
Idk Ken, that Suspiria 4K is gonna go the quickest. The 4K that was released a while back is OOP. At one point, it was selling for 400 bucks! I'm locking it in the minute it goes live for one of the US shops.
