I love 4K but I'm done upgrading everything I have. I don't need either of these films in 4K. I'm now reserving the upgrades for my absolute favorite films. I wish these labels would focus more on films that haven't gotten any hi-def physical release instead than the constant double and triple dipping of titles. Not to mention that they often don't even include new or additional extras with these upgrades.
Hey Ken, already have Hellraiser from the UK set, so I am good there. Trick 'r Treat is a huge welcome surprise though. Can't wait to get that one and watch it in 4k!
Just for me personally all the boutique labels have been pretty underwhelming all year. I was hoping ARROW’s October releases were gna be exciting. I like Trick r Treat but I don’t think I need it on 4K. Maybe I’ll pick it up down the road we’ll see.
Thanks Ken. I pre-ordered Trick 'r Treat (OG art version) directly from Arrow. I've been waiting for this to get a 4K upgrade. Also hoping House on Haunted Hill (1999) and House of Wax (2005) get 4K upgrades as well.
I would get Exorcist II on 4K since I want to add it with the other Exorcist movies on 4K and can’t wait to get Trick R Treat on 4K since I haven’t seen that one for a long time lol
I did enjoy the Exorcist II and I saw it last year Kenny and it’s a guilty pleasure for me bro 😎 and I want it on the USA on 4K hopefully it comes out for us too man lol 😂
And I’m glad that I didn’t brought the blu ray and it’s a good thing I waited for the 4K announcement and so looming forward to it too and I wish it could of come one way before Halloween since I want to see it around that time but oh well at least it’s coming to 4K now
Time Crimes is one of the more intelligent and mind-bending time travel movies ever made. It's in Spanish, but it's more visual than dialogue driven. We essentially walk through the movie through the eyes of the protagonist.
I am tempted to double-dip on the Hellraiser set since I got the Chatterer set last year. It was tough decision as I love Pinhead but wanted the Arrow exclusive and I just could not afford both.
Cant believe you didnt love Dark Water. I thought with you having children, it would resonate more with you. I dont even have kids and thought it was emotional which made me love it
This release of Exorcist 2 does have new features over the SF release we already got. Might be worth it for those alone, and Diabolik has it for a decent price. Should've been a 4K tho. The J-Horror box is gonna be a must-get for me because Noroi: the Curse is a found footage/mockumentary horror, and I've heard it's a very good one
Looking forward to Trick 'R Treat 4K package, Ken. I believe there are 3 different versions of The Exorcist II: The Heretic. I saw it once because I'm a fan of Linda Blair and her horror movies. It wasn't good at all. She looked good, but the movie stunk bad.
I absolutely love Noroi: The Curse, I kinda wish it had a solo release coming so I wouldn’t have to get the box set, but there’s always the chance that I end up loving the other films in the set
I have a hunch either Scream Factor or Arrow Video is going to put out a "The House of The Devil" 4k within the next 2 years which is why I won't be getting the Umbrella bluray.
I wouldn’t count on Amazon uk listing any of the arrow titles - they just don’t seem to be stocking any new Arrow titles!! Does anyone know the reason for this?
I judge it myself i dont lisen to the crowd of ops, nore do i go into deapths with my letterboxd reviews. I watch it judge it review it then move on. Not all films are amazing as.
Definitely getting that Hellraiser 4k boxset. I wonder if Arrow will release the Psycho 4k boxset in the future. It came out last year in the UK. I paid a premium for that one. 💀
I will let it slide because it's October (Halloween), but I am sick of all these labels just putting out horror films personally. So many older action movies I still want. The latest Arrow releases before these were great. Hope they go back to putting out more action films.
Excited for that j horror box set noroi the curse is one of my favorites wil be happy to own a physical copy. Trick r treat as well..only watched it for the first time last year but its an instant classic. Wish they had the exorcist 2 on 4k i dont think it deserves the hate it gets, i can see why it would be devisive but maybe Im a vocal minority
Regarding new extras for Trick r Treat; It’s worth noting that at the bottom of the extras list, it does say “and more extras to be confirmed” so it looks like we’re getting new stuff.
I got uk cheaper packaging version of Hellraiser tetralogy which is known as, it's a little slimmer, and all films have individual slim 4k boxes in it too, with special features on all the discs. House of The Devil, I like the 80's retro vibe they made it like, Hobo With Shot Gun, was brilliant with the similar retro style, which would also be great if that gets the 4k treatment too.
I’ve pre ordered trick r treat 4K from Rarewaves. I got 10% off plus free shipping. Never seen it before, but other horror fans love it. Hopefully it arrives before Halloween. 👍🎃
@stephenmkeer yes I ordered 5 from rarewaves and one from another place. Was missing them in my collection. I all so just got all the omen movies but the newest as well.
To go from Chucky, Hellraiser & Psycho boxsets (2023) to an exorcist sequel and trick or treat is extremely disappointing - I guess the wait for a Halloween or Friday the 13th boxset goes on...
Great vid. The Exorcist 2 is a scandal lol. I watched this last year at Halloween for the first time. It is epic how isanely bad it is. You should watch it one day, just to see what they did. lol
Trick R Treat doesn't even release until 10.29. It's a shame they couldn't get it out in August or Sept. Due to it missing Halloween 2024 by the time I'll receive it, I'm gonna wait until a sale later in the year.
I already have the Scream Factory Blu-ray of Exorcist II; no need for any kind of upgrade for that one. It's often considered one of the worst motion pictures ever made, up there with Grease 2, but I always had a soft spot for it. Being that it's still a 1080p transfer, I wonder if they're using Scream's master. I also have Scream's Blu-ray of Exorcist III, and while the audio sucks, the transfer looks amazing IMO.... especially coming from the original Warner DVD.
Great shame if Trick R Treat doesn't get a Blu-Ray. I don't need the expense of a 4K and for this film Blu-Ray would be sufficient for me. Think they slightly dropped the ball there.
Still waiting on that stateside 4K release of “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” from Arrow. It’s been over a year since the UK release and still nothing, WTF. Other than “Trick r Treat,” which was a day one pre-order of the site exclusive original art work for me, the October slate was rather disappointing. Arrow should have also dropped a 4K of the 2003 TCM remake. I guess they wanted to save me some money. More money for that stand alone 4K of “The Ring,” that sweet 4K steel of “A Nightmare On Elm Street,” and that 4K of “The Terminator”. Just watched “Deadpool and Wolverine,” and I won’t be adding that to my 4K collection down the line. I honestly enjoyed “Twisters” a lot more last week. As far as new releases this year I watched in theaters that I want to eventually add to the collection that would be: “The Fall Guy,” “Furiosa,” “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” “Inside Out 2,” “Twisters,” and maybe “A Quiet Place: Day One”. However, I’ll pick those all up on sale. Also, a couple of movies that are worth a watch that I streamed recently are “The Boys in the Boat” and “Young Woman and the Sea”. I don’t want to own them, but I wanted to mention they were with a watch since they were both overlooked in theaters. Also, when “Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1” finally bows on either Max or Netflix, it’s worth a watch. Is it a great western? I can’t really say, because it’s not a whole story. However, I never found it boring. I just wouldn’t have ended it with a long trailer for the next chapter. Also, the studio should have waited for a fall release to possibly get a chance to put it on some premium screens. I think it played on one of the smallest screens in my local theater opening week. I’m lucky to have A-List to be able to take a chance on some movies, but even I don’t have time to watch everything that comes out. We definitely have way too many options competing for our viewing attention. Sometimes, you catch a fun movie like “The Fall Guy,” “Twisters,” and get sucked up in a great show like “House of the Dragon” or “Fallout”. Other times you get something mediocre like “Deadpool and Wolverine,” “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” or find yourself shame watching a show like “The Acolyte”. A show that’s not at all good, but you’re going to suffer on through it because you’re going to finish what you started. Only to find out it just keeps getting worse, LOL!
The Umbrella releases look amazing but the pricing is getting ridiculous. $44.95 AUD for House of the Devil Blu-Ray is daylight robbery 😞 I really want that film but this is a step too far. It would be cheaper to get Ti West to author a Blu-Ray for me than import from Oz!
I know I’m in the minority, but I want Exorcist 2 on 4K. I want the whole series. It’s not what you’d expect and it’s weird as hell, and maybe that’s why I like it.
These new announcements are nothing to write home about & are nothing really new just another recycled batch of catalog titles. And this is one of the reasons why physical media is dying off now. Bc all the studios & small labels all are doing now is just recycling catalog titles over and over. Instead of releasing more first time catalog titles on bluray & 4k. Bc there is still 100's of unreleased good catalog titles that should get released on bluray or 4k before all these catalog titles get the recycled treatment. And this is sad that we can't get more first time catalog titles released either on bluray or 4k first
Feels like we get the shaft most of the year. So many of these labels focus exclusively on Horror films. Arrow is the only one I know of that does good non horror films and even then they still do horror 50% of the time.
Arrow ia doing great on their transfer.. but audio wise they are a complete joke and lazy. We never get newly remastered audio upgrades, just the same old 5.1 tracks from previous blu-rays..
I love 4K but I'm done upgrading everything I have. I don't need either of these films in 4K. I'm now reserving the upgrades for my absolute favorite films. Exorcist 2 isn’t a 4k. Blu ray only.
Scream factory's Exorcist 2 has a beautiful slip cover, which is probably oop and was still 27.00 on Amazon not to long ago
I'm really just interested in Hell on Earth finally getting Regian A blu ray since that scarlett box set has been OOP for a long time

Trick'r'treat, both Exorcists and the J-Horror set. This is gonna be a expensive month.
I am tempted to double-dip on the Hellraiser set since I got the Chatterer set last year. It was tough decision as I love Pinhead but wanted the Arrow exclusive and I just could not afford both.
Exorcist 2 is hilarious. More comedy driven than The Exorcist parody in Scary Movie 2.
Hell yes 🙌 bro 😎 for sure 👍 and i enjoy it as a dumb comedy horror movie too
Cant believe you didnt love Dark Water. I thought with you having children, it would resonate more with you. I dont even have kids and thought it was emotional which made me love it
The extras for Trick R' Treat are identical to the Scream Factory blu-ray so I'll just be sticking with my blu-ray.
Got my preorders in for Trick r treat and Hellraiser. Haven’t seen Trick r treat yet is it streaming anywhere guys?
and MORE extras to be confirmed!
