Yes, as seen with the Tempest Axe and Valor issue. This issue stems from the fact that you're trying to use every weapon. Your mind isn't retaining the information of the more complex combos because you're swapping a lot. It's sorta like playing a fighting game. You CAN play every character. But you won't master them all, by doing so.
IMHO, for weapon rotation purposes, since he needs to do some grinding I'd say that farming the same quest consecutively (say, up to 3 times) should only count as one use for that weapon.
You haven't seen a pizza cutter until you unlock the Bistro Ticket weapons. My first-ever High Rank experience? In MH4U. I had been alternating between 4U and Generations (base MHGen, 3DS), and when starting the MH4U high rank I noticed Daimyo Hermitaur was hitting very hard but didn't think much of it since I had already faced (low rank) Daimyo in Generations. It wasn't until Gendrome started hitting super hard that I realized something was amiss about these 7* Guildmarm quests, before noticing the new (high rank) armor sets and identifying just what was going on.

I see Jay upload GU journal, I like the vid 👍. good luck out there Jay, possible spoiler idk I'm 1 minute into the vid. but for a lot of blademaster weapons a lot of armorsets in High Rank *can* follow a simillar progression and can carry all the way throughout G1 few come to mind: full shogun, full rathalos, rathalos mixset keep up the great work mate🥳
Striker Lance is really strong lol. Usually players bring Absolute Evasion and Absolute Readiness along with Enraged Guard. The Absolute skills helps with Maneuverability and Enraged Guard for more Damage. Valor Gunlance is really good too but better used with Normal Shelling. Since in Valor mode, the Quick Reload > Ground Slam > Full Burst Loop is really strong (tho will demolish sharpness) Can't comment on SwAxe since its your main already, you'll know when a style will vibe. Adept CB is a BEAST. Defensive Swoed mode + Offensive Axe mode is a really amazing combination. From what I see your rank there deserves a bump up! Aerial IG is also one of the strong Style combinations! Since the forward Vault now covers a lot of ground, its really easy to catch up with monsters that move a lot. Its also really commendable that you know to take advantage of Grounded combos. I see the pain on the back to back Ranged weapons. I still recommend randomizing the weapon queue every loop so that you won't suffer 9 hunts in a row. A bit of a tip for Bow, its not like World or Rise where the charge goes up after every shot, you have to hold to charge it to max before releasing for more consistent damage. Adept helps a lot since after an Adept Evade you get max charge right after if you hold the button. I swear I'm gonna catch one of your streams one of these days. Keep up the good hunts and don't let the Gunner hunts let you down!

I also love aerial switch axe, i think thats the easiest weapon to get mount. I never really into it but the combination of demon riot and hunter arts that give you unlimired energy is good on striker switchaxe I dont really know much of valor switch axe so good to see you enjoying it For bowgun what i do i lock the monster and just shot there lmao, yes its not effective but it was neccessary to lock the monster in old game as range Looking forward for more of your journal
Pretty sure you still haven't given adept dual blades a proper try. Imo it's less complicated than valor DB, where your grade is still very low. You don't have any moves locked behind the evade and the evade itself is an attack. Just don't forget about the kick button.
I feel you. I barely managed to get the win on Congalala just to get into high rank. Once I get enough materials by ending via sub quest and capturing a couple more monsters, I'll finally feel ready to move on.

I've been doing basically the same thing as Jay, minus ranged weapons, and just sticking with the shogun ceanatur armor and seregios weapons has gotten me to the last few momster in high rank so far.
okay so, for the narga lbg, you wanna use pierce lv1 for the rapid fire if I remember correctly, but you run out quite fast, so what we did was get ammo casing and latchberry (you are gonna need a lot of them) and the master combiner hunter art, for hbg I used the zinogre and kushala one and it's also pierce lv1 based, so another latchberry sink, but there are other cool option like the akantor one that use normal ammos
One of the hardest things to get used to with the ranged weapons is being accurate with your shots. Hit zone values are much lower for most posts, so hitting the weak spots is much more impotant for lowering the huntt time. Also, once you can, craft the Kushala HBG. That and the G-rank Zinoagre HBG are the best ones all the way to BBD. Also, you might want to farm charms once you get to G-rank. Weakness Exploit 4/5 with 3 slots is what most raw damage sets use, so it's hard to get, but makes the armor easier to manage later on.
Don't know what stream people have recommended, but personally, I think Striker Light Bowgun is the best. Absolute Evasion, Absolute Readiness (unlocked from a 3-star Hub quest to fight Gendrome and Seregios), and Full House II (or III when that is possible). Full House II and Absolute Readiness both function as reloads that ignore your Reload Speed stat. The other unique Hunter Arts to LBG are objectively terrible, but the utility of Full House alone makes Striker well worth it.
HH is phenomenal with attack up L also, so don’t be fooled into think you need KO and maestro. I find having attack up L and playing it can rack up such great damage that the fight goes better even without those other useful skills. Also this journey will get much much easier, tbh. Get your feet firmly on the ground with some slightly stronger weapons, don’t forget to attempt upgrading some older ones you might have materials for, and you’ll probably breeze through a good chunk of it
As a person who is still going through MHGU endgame, let me tell you: It gets much easier the more you play. I sucked at fighting G-Rank hyper silver rathalos the first time around, until I realized that most people left some space for flash bomb mats, and then it got easier to fight him.
I haven't touched GenU in ages (been wanting an excuse to jump back in, started struggling with G-rank at g4 i think? and tried to bring some friends into the game but they couldn't handle pre-world controls :(
gU hub is scaled for about two people at all times, if you are playing with people make sure BOTH their weapons and armor skills are similar to what you have. average clear time with a full on level squad should be around 5 minutes. dont let your squad carry you, dont bee a leach.
Generations Ultimate PC port to steam would be hype though but that is heavily unlikely never happening, the giant old world games collection will forever be stuck on Nintendo console

Btw, Bow's Rapid Fire shot type is bugged. Avoid using those TL:DR basically the game freaks out and doesnt know how to calculate the damage for it, so youre doing less damage than supposed to
