Over the last few years I've noticed more unique DE and SE designs (geometry, materials, bkade loading and securing) and I must imagine the companies getting into the game know the share of the market is there for them. But, at some point, I have to wonder if they are simply trying to build a better mousetrap...
It kinda looks like a GEM razor. I noticed with these half de razors generally a magnet is helpful in keeping the blade in place when tightening the top cap together
Very good Ken! It's an interesting design and the only things that would concern me is the lack of any knurling or something for gripping with wet hands and the extreme head angle. I'm sure that angle would be good for head shaving and legs, but it does put the handle rather close to the body and some will find issues with shaving the neck if the don't contort there head and body. The new Pearl single edge is like that too. It looked fine for you, but if you have big thick hands and a big body, you might run into some interference with the handle. Just my thoughts anyway. Take care!
Its going to be starting on Kickstarter from the 31st July or so I've read. It looks good and the price for early backers makes it attractively priced for a titanium razor.
Interesting design. Reminds me of a more geometrical Onblade. By the way I started loving shaving because of you Ken. Received my new TATARA Muramasa just yesterday and it’s a joy to shave with it. Thanks for turning my routine to passion! 🪒😶🌫️

You managed a close, irritation-free shave. I'm always intrigued when companies come out with another safety razor design. I guess there's enough interest to entice them to test the market. I do know there are many low- to moderate-priced SE razors available. So it will be interesting to see the MSRP. As for me, I'll stick with my trusty DEs. PS: I did Google and saw a breakdown of the razor head. I must say that the top of the handle "looked" flimsy. My reaction was to question if it would maintain structural integrity.
Ive been ripped off many times buying the "new latest razor", only to be disappointed. This is reworked non twist to open Gem- Same look, same angle. Save your money and buy the original. Just keeping it real.
they need to put a grippier handle with some knurling. I have too many handles with a smooth finish that I replaced ( you can use alum for a solution but that's BS if I'll be paying a premium price). I don't like the screw mechanism to tighten the blade.the haad is too big. Looks liike you had a problem trying to put it on the base beause of that tiny pin hole. I did not see on your video, but was there a notch on the razor for the bent part of the blade? Sometimes this will be an issue when securing the head. I know you'll say just cut it with scissors but I don't have time for that. Overall, a great video as always.
Thank you. The machined surface of titanium isn't slippery. According to our beta tests, the handle is grippy enough even when it's wet with shaving cream, thanks to the ergonomic design and the moderate mass density of the material that makes TiGlide S1 have a perfectly balanced weight distribution in hands. We will do more tests and consider and stripes if necessary for the mass product.
@@titanercn5604 I'm also concerned with the bent ends of the blades when I snap them in half. For me this is the easiest method to half a blade. Cutting the blade with scissors is an extra step. Is there a notch in the head to accomdate the bent ends of the blade so that the razor head closes properly? Speaking of the head, I find it's a liiitle too big. The locking mechanism seems a bit awkward in the back. Will it be big enough for arthritic hands to handle?
@kensurfs Thank you sir. Thanks to you and Geofatboy i began to use a safety razors.Unfortunately, I only have one razor, but I'm not complaining. As they say, better one than none. All the best to you and your family sir
Their pricing for what they have is $199, $299, $300, and I think $529 for a titanium handle. So, would suspect this will come in around $159 to $299. Huge gap, but their current offering I wouldn’t pay $19.99 for at a big box store. They’re ugly, like a child ate a box of crayons and threw up. So there is no rhyme or reason to their pricing.
What a delightfully elegant razor! Definitely one to watch. Great shave
Thank you kindly!👍💈💈

Love SE razors that use half DE blades
👍💈
Great shave Ken. Yeah that does look like the Tesla truck. With a large head like that you would think that it takes a whole DE blade.

Hey Ken, are you doing requests or too busy? Thank you. Joe.

At first glance, it reminds me of a modernized Gem or Micro Gem razor.
👍👍
Does one need to spend $200 on a SS razor to get a better shave compared to a $60 razor ?
Not really
nice razor review👍

Most of the titanium razors you can find on google ranges from $250 to $320. This one will cost much less.
Very interesting Ken. Appreciate the review. Best regards, Glenn
Glad you enjoyed it👍💈💈
