Yugoslavia was the most social state in the world. Health care was totally free. Education was totally free. Food was cheap, all people have had jobs, all families went to the Croatian, Slovene coast EACH SINGLE YEAR. All were more or less equal. The problem was nationalism and fascism which started under Milošević's regime and because started problems with several banks.
VendPrekmurec It was a little joke mate. Sorry to cause any offence. Only for the fact i was forced to watch it as it was on in my house every episode.
I have very beautiful memories about my childhood. I was few years old (5) when Yugoslavia fell apart... It was horrible after that; seeing war in my own country. We were lucky for kicking the Yugoslavian army under Milošević's command in only 10 days out of our country... Others were not that lucky. Bosnians were not even organized. That's why several primitive hordes of evil, village drunkards, fascists started butchering innocent young males, even women, children... But years in Yugoslavia were sweetest in my life. The only problem was, that you could not have big choices in markets, to buy more than 2 brands of yogurt for example, there was only 1 brand of TV in local store, a videorecorder or videocamera which was expensive if it was made outside of Yugoslavia...We were producing more or less everything we needed; we have had top products, electronics among other Europeans... Americans for example stole even improved IR camera technology from one of our company... I know the guy who was working with americans, he told me that... Indeed, we were watching many "western" cartoons, shows, movies; one of them was Back to the future. I love that movie. Super gran was on TV screens each morning in each saturday. I also loved the HE-MAN series... You were not born here, but if you would be, you would understand me...
Well my grandmother can easilly match that granny a thousand times after the years she endured trying to raise us even without a super beam, but i believe that was the message they wanted to spread for the elders they all super after all.And we would be really lucky to reach their years with the lives we make, still those are unforgetable memories from the old days thanks uploader. Also whats wrng with that narator he has a pretty creepy voice for a show like that, its like he was for some kind of horror stories.
It only occurred to me in recent years how much of this I didn't actually understand as a kid. I was way out of my depth with these accents. I think it was purely the theme tune which lured me to it, then I'd lie to myself that I knew what it was all about from there on in.
Me y nos encantó la super abuela a mis amiguis y yo, jugábamos a interpretar su personaje. Era gracioso hacerlo , nos divertíamos mucho porque disfrutábamos hacerlo al máximo.Super cool, nice.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💯💯💯💯💯💯👏👏👏👏
Yeah it was common practice to place the full edit on one track, and minus the dialogue on the other to allow the same production to be sold abroad. Unfortunately someone at CITV years later was a moron and just played the tape out as-is.
+Makumbha Shanti Hahaaaa that's Dio / Black Sabbath stuff, trust me. They all British. (I don't know if Dio is British but he started the whole devil horn mess, what's now related to illuminatti occult Satan worship stuff.)
RIP Gudrun Ure. Our generation will NEVER forget you.
i absolutely LOVED this as a kid, haven't seen it in decades lol. thanks for putting this up :D
sweetest 80's. I was watching that show as a little child in Communist Yugoslavia
Were you forced to watch it?

+VendPrekmurec i was born there and still remember he man and super gran....i grew up as a small child with those series....
Grew up with this show. Surprised I still remember the tune 29 years later! Wow!
I sometimes find myself whistling the theme tune when ya think about how kids were back then to now there’s no comparison we were so inocent
“She Makes them look like a bunch of fairies” 😂😂😂
Supergran was filmed in my home town! Amazing it was shown all over the world ❤

I just turned back being 6 years old watching this and i am in actuality 42. Great memories.
My mother is actually the ginger kid in this, Holly English
Your mum's awesome! Loved this show! :)
Edward Mapletoft How come she never continued her career as an actress? :)
She's now into amateur dramatics at the Louth Playgoers Riverbead Theatre, and runs a holiday business! www.ashwaterhouse.co.uk
+Edward Mapletoft You must be proud of her ?. Are you in the acting game ?
Of course, I do my best to keep in the loop, but there's really only an amateur dramatics society nearby, so it's very much a hobby!
I grew up watching this show was the first time in Libya
You know when Billy connelly and Phil coulter made a tune it was always gonna make a great tune!

I remember all the words to SuperGran theme tune from being a kid lol. Never missed it after school. Loved it.
i enjoyed watching this when i was a kid ^^

I've always thought the Same about Johnny brings and Jossey's giants
I love how Supergran keeps doing the devil horns too \m/ \m/
Lol my nan purchased a supergran VHS for me so many years ago, I think she was giving me a hint. She didn't need to though, she was always super.
Lovely show. But when I was a kid this thing gave me a really grim vision of how gray things were in England.

a show that makes the single camera faded color cheese of Shazam (1972) look brilliant by comparison. However, the ladys a first class sweetheart.
I love the intro music!
16:34 "the river Jizz covers such a big area, Supergran!"
😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This show was filmed in Tynemouth, which is where I live :D

She wasnt according to goggle she was on casualty mid summer murders
😂 funny i remember this song good child memories
It's a shame that the dialogue and voice-over is only in my left ear, despite there being background noise in the right.

13:04 - at least ...he invented those glasses before Kanye West, Calvin Harris and Will-I-Bleeedin'-Am !
This was broadcast in Albania
Is it me or does that say 1984 in Roman numerals at the end?
+Tomos Burton It does. The episode was produced and filmed in 1984 but originally aired on ITV in 1985
sound wrong that when postman says to supergran how u no what in my sack lol
Well, I know all the outside places at least ^^
Tub, Ro-land browning's Scottish cousin?
Scunner Campbell!
A series that owed its' success purely to being on a Sunday evening in the 80s when there was nothing else on (much like Bullseye/Terrahawks).
That'll also explain the Emmy and the sales all over the world then.
@@jasejj Don't get me wrong, I liked it like everyone else.
