Loved it! a family member had one. I have never driven a car that I could let go of the steering wheel and the care would drive as straight for as long as this one did, consistently. It was quick too, for the time and smooth. Acura, what happened you lost the niche you created?
Such a good review of one of my favorite cars from the 90's. Is there any way you could do a review of the Acura 3.2Cl Type-S, whether it's the automatic (which I own and love) or the 6-speed? Even though the TL was available as a Type-S (through two generations), I feel that Acura hasn't made another luxury coupe like the CL (I know the Legend Coupe preceded this, but still, the CL is badass).
This one of my favorite cars of all time I own a 1994 Legend sedan that I've owned since highschool and it has over 637,000 miles and it stills runs great I live in Georgia and just got back from a round trip roadtrip from California its a wonder car great video thank you for doing a video on this car.
How crazy, I was just saying the same thing! Acura cars are soulless & incredibly uninspired. My Dad has an RLX which is such a disappointment :/ . I remember in my youth, my Dad had a Legend and it was just amazing. To this day, the Legend is still a beauty. Acura had its chance in '09 when it was announced the RL would switch to RWD & a V-8. The V-10 NSX would have been the top supercar too. Oh Acura...
Thru RLX is the prime example. Great car mechanically, but totally plain vanilla and uninspiring like you said. That's why I've seen maybe 3 in person since they went on sale.
chigasaki06 right, and you think maybe, just maybe Acura would've made the sport hybrid rlx more aggressive visually. Lower ride height, aggressive body kit, nicer rims, stiffer suspension, or something.. Yet they do complete bullshit and make a dark chrome grill. I just simply cannot understand if Acura knows they are struggling as a luxury brand, why can't they go all out and maybe follow Lexus. Lexus did it and now they are on BMW and MB level. Instead Acura produces the same shit cars with the same, boring, old carried over engines with same hp figures from 10 years ago. Fire the designer and put me in charge please..!.
chigasaki06 Designers who don't give a shit for what a luxury car customer is looking for. The complete opposite of Lexus which otherwise actually designs their cars to what customers look for. The MDX was designed by asking soccer moms what they want. Rather than asking them AND say younger professionals looking for a versatile luxury SUV with a taste in luxury and REAL WOOD TRIM!
I have a '96 Toyota Tacoma v6 4x4 with a tad over 432k miles on it (about 9k from me) and still has the original clutch. Granted, those are mostly highway miles.
@@Viralityoflife Not really, clutch wear comes from stoping and going, once the clutch is engaged its not wearing clutch material at all. Not to downplay 500K miles on a stock clutch but just as an aside.
I love the throwback reviews. Please do more!! It is so hard to find reviews of old vehicles and there is something nostalgic about watching old reviews when you can find one. I love the 90s interiors on many cars just something about them brings back memories.
I'm absolutely loving the 90's Japanese car reviews! Please do more! The 90's for Japanese cars is sort of like the 60's for American cars. Japan made the best cars in the world back then and arguably the best cars they've ever made. Hope you can find some more of what I refer to as the "Japanese Supercars" to review ( NSX, Supra Turbo, 300ZX Twin Turbo, RX-7, etc.), good job!
94 Couple Legend was my first luxury car that I ever owned, I bought it in Wisconsin in my vacation and drove it back to Los Angeles, after couple years, I moved to Wisconsin from LA and believe or not, I drove it back to Wisconsin where I bought it. I still love this car so much due to being so stylish and the engine being so powerful. I wish they would make it again. The only cons that I had was the gas mileage which is not very good, by then gas was about $2/gallon, gas price now is about $3 to $3.50/gallon, filling up the tank can cost you about $70 easily. If you have a long commute between home and work, you may need to feed the tank once a week.
Sofyan, I think it's Awesome that you did a couple Reviews on some Vintage cars in the Legend and NSX. Please do more! I mean it's Great when you look at the New Cars that are on Offer but when you bring the Older 90's Cars into the Fold it gives your Reviews such a Shot of Excitement! The Brand new Cars of today just don't bring the Joy to hardcore car enthusiasts like the cars of yesteryear. I think i can speak for a lot of folks out there, want more of these Reviews!
Legend actually started second generation in 91. I had a 90 Legend coupe back in the day and it was first gen. Nice car though, well built. I have also owned BMW 6 and 7 series, Mercedes 500SL. Legend far more reliable, German car breaks all the time $$$$$ to fix. I also owned a Sterling 827 SLi which is basically a cross platform car developed between Honda and Rover, it was a rover 800 fastback with Acura Legend guts. God that car was sweet.
Honda was way ahead of its time with this design. They were one of the first automakers to offer a V6+6 speed combo. There were so many great, reliable, Japanese cars being pumped out by Nissan, Honda, and Toyota at the time. 500,000+ miles is not out of the ordinary,
You ain't never lied. I got a 1996 Honda Accord with 312,578 miles on the odometer. I fucking love this car. I also got a 2008 Acura TL. That's my weekend car. The only problem I had when I bought the 96 Accord was the A/C unit went bad. It had a leak. You know taking it a Honda shop they will charge you a arm and a leg for labor. Luckily my next door neighbor is a mechanic and he told me what I needed after he looked at it. I bought it. He replaced it. My unit has been running perfect ever since. My 08 TL only has 78,000 miles on it. Honda/Acura for life baby!
Never been in any Acura Legend. Had no idea these things were built to such a high standard back in the day. Rear power windows in a coupe too; that's a fancy feature! And a 6 speed in 94!
Acura has changed alot over the years. My brother used to own a 92 integra, my dad had a vigor for a while(he got rid of it since it had a problem). There is one 6speed for sale in temple hills,MD for $3000. I personally own a 94 civic lx (auto) with 215K.I bought the car from a lady which was the only owner of the car. Even though it's 20 years old. The car is great. the headlight never get oxidized and it just need paint since it had fade over the years.
BTW thanks for showcasing this timeless masterpiece To this day I still browse various auto websites looking for the Legends that are selling in my area.
Still rocking' my 1994 Legend L 4-door. Not the stick, unfortunately, but a great sedan. Gorgeous sage green. Finish still looks good. Interior very clean. About to hit 140,000 miles. I sometimes think about selling it and getting a newer RLX or the 2019 RDX, but it's hard to justify letting go of a Legend.
I have a 1995 Legend sedan in my driveway, car is absolutely flawless chrome stock rims don't have a scratch or scuff. has 150k miles showroom quality....bought it last week from the original owner for $2000....🤑🤑🤑
Love this review man! Used to have a 92 Legend sedan that had 500K+ and if it were up to me I'd still be driving that car today! These Legends were and will always be timeless cars! Thanks for doing this review!
Incorrectly state that the Type II engines were only on the six speed manual models. Actually the 230HP Type 2 engines were on All 1993-1995 Coupes and on the GS Sedans, both manual and automatic.
One of the sexiest designs to come out of Acura. It's obvious that the people who made this car have moved onto other things whiles total monkeys have taken over. I find more flaws with new Acuras than good and it's sad.
Your review was 100% excellence. Thank you so much. Here in Australia they were simply known as Honda Legends. "Acura" was created for the US and Canadian auto market and has since moved into Asia, northern Europe and Kuwait. It's 2018 and these cars still remain unparalleled in their comfort and great looks. Thanks again for such a great review.
3:30 that's not exactly correct, the 1992 Integra GS-R had the B17A1 which had VTEC. Also at 1:09 , the USDM 2nd gen Legend was introduced in the model year 1991, not 1990. That's just being picky though, as they were sold in 1990 but as a 91 model.
They should of make the Acura Legend as a limousine. Anyway, bring this "BAD BOY" back. 95" LS 6 spd TYPE II. White. I would love to collect these cars.
Hi Sofyan, great Vids that you make dude. Hey you should make more reviews with some of these older Japanese vehicles, me and I think alot of people would Love that Thanks
I love the Legend....specifically the second generation, everything about that car is perfect...I see a lot of them in fort worth but many of them are looking like they wernt well kept.
***** sometimes it seems the Original owners take care of the car well. then when the car is passed off to a second or third owner they don't take nearly as good care of it.
Decent review but I really don't enjoy the presenter. "surprisingly, surprisingly, SURPRISINGLY". uh, yeah, luxury cars had luxury features, and this FLAGSHIP ACURA is a luxury car. Should you be surprised? His perspective just seems condescending like this car is an old piece of shit or something, or at least, he expected it to be.
Wow...did Acura/Honda use the same steering wheel for the Legend and the NSX? That being said I am looking for a Legend Coupe LS (preferably red) to go next to my '91 NSX.
That startup beep is the same as alarm clocks lol. Still love 90% of the design of this, was never sure of the back end. Love the sound of that engine in the cabin, growly but restrained. Yes, I bought an older Volvo S80 as I wanted a large car but a wanted a manual.
Really happy to see you doing older vehicles again. Love the new stuff and all, but it's great to see these older vehicles. This is what had me coming to this channel in the first place. It's unlikely that i'll be finding myself driving in a 70k new car with a bunch of bells and whistles. Much more likely that i'd find myself in something a bit older though. Always in the market for a new car to keep things interesting, and the only way to do that is with used vehicles. Anyway, love the videos! Keep up the great work.
El RedlineReview, as you just mentioned on this review on how Honda/Acura had made great vehicles in the past and mentioned Prelude, have you guys thought of making a review on a 4th gen Honda Prelude? if so in behave of a community of all Preludes that I'm very happy to be part of, us at BB Alliance TB would love to see a great review on a 4th gen Prelude(92-96) none other then by a great car review peeps like yourselfs
Beautiful car, and Acura at its best for design and quality. The 500k miles is pretty amazing, but it goes to show how gentle highway miles are on a car compared to the stop and go city stuff. There's a video of a 2000 Accord 5-speed that was traded into a Honda dealer with around 730k (and still the original clutch, trans, engine).
Back in the late 1990s, a lot of the drug dealers and thugs in my neighborhood were driving around in the Acura Legend(both sedan and coupe) and the Infiniti J30.
500,000 miles My Ass, it ain't real I'm sure my comment will get delete like they delete my girl since we owned a coupe legend b4 and said there's no way that all original engine and power staring fluid is leaking u can see it on vid, I know those car like my kids
The type 2 engine was a lot more reliable than the regular engine in most legends, only available in 93+ coupes and I believe 94 and 95 GS edition sedans
I had a 1989 acura legend it was faster than a dodge magnum 2.7 v6 and I had a 1992 acura legend L with the Bose sound system with the tweeters in the back
Beautiful car! Gosh, catching rubber in second on such car that has been treated with such care...glad it's not mine, but with that aside I so enjoy your reviews and this one was fun. Honda really did make wonderful products in the 90's. Keep'em coming big guy!
I rock a 93 type ll Six speed darn near mint. Everything on this car as well as the NSX was designed/engineered to perform and last. I feel manufacturers now design things to fail. The thing to note on these cars is that not only is the car itself is getting more and more rare. So is the parts to maintain them!
Reminds me of my 1995 Accord LX. Quite a few things in common. The gauge cluster is identical, the headliner looks like soft touch vinyl, not cloth. The steering wheel is the same, except mine isn't leather wrapped. Also, I have an auto and only have 2 cup holders. Which is inconvenient for a sedan. The chrome window switches are the same and my back windows don't roll down all the way either, and that is stock like that. Argue with me or not, but the Accord is Honda's economy luxury sedan. You won't find a Civic with a V6 in it. From LX and EX Accords you'll find many shared Legend features. The Accord seats even cloth is more like a couch than rough car seats. It's really made for hours of driving. I work long hours on my feet and my butt never hurts, and my back never bothers me in it. It's like a comfy couch. Civic seats and some other Honda seats kill your ass and back. The Accord hints tasteful luxury. Accord owners will know what I'm talking about. The styling kills the competition in the 90s. It doesn't look like a beater with age with some of the Corolla and Maxima models.
And then Acura redesigned this car, dropped the Legend name and the boring RL was born. Its been downhill ever since. Unless things turn around, my current Acura TL will be my last Acura.
dumbest move ever. Lincoln is bringing back model names & moving away from alpha-numeric as well as revamping their whole line up. Acura should pay very close attention.
I have a 91 Acura Legend LS coupe and I love it. Only downside is it's 4speed automatic, but those automatic transmission s are some if the best . mine has over 284K miles and still running strong .
The manual coupé weren't that rare here in Canada.. The Legend and the Vigor.. back then when the Honda engineers were actually having fun at work. Even the base Civic or the Integra were such well designed cars.. I was recently walking in a junkyard and saw an Integra 1992. Sat inside and was blow away: that car was so comfortable, the seat, the driving position, the controls, the space inside, everything was so much better that most modern cars. How can anyone explain that a 25y old car is much better designed inside than any modern car ? Just how can you explain that ? I've sat in several Cadillac, Mercedes, minivans, yet the seats in those Acura felt the most natural and relaxing for the body.
Dam that 90s hustlers car. . still looks dope...
If you had this car back in the day, you had some money
Lol or my grandparents
Omg, that is actually the only favourite Acura/Honda chime I love hearing; nostalgic memories in my dad's '93 Integra :D
The clutch is original? I thought you were lucky to get 100000 miles from a clutch.. but 500,000? Jesus what were they made from?
I thought I was super lucky to get 220k out of my subarus clutch, but 500k Damn!
Its just highway miles. I saw a 2010 Chevy Express with 110k still on original brakes/rotors(still had 50% life left).
bmwmsport11 Yeah guess it must be!
***** lol funniest comment this year
I have seen 250,000 on a Audi V8.. and i got 225,000 on my Isuzu...so yea sure, why not.

Oh my god it's beautiful, why doesn't acura do cars like this anymore

Classic... I always wanted 1 back in the 90s I just couldn't afford 1, I would love to get 1 and fix it up
Love your videos! Any tips for people who want to get in the industry?
b4 honda went to shit they made timeless classics like this legend
Ha! I know who's car that is
This one of my favorite cars of all time I own a 1994 Legend sedan that I've owned since highschool and it has over 637,000 miles and it stills runs great I live in Georgia and just got back from a round trip roadtrip from California its a wonder car great video thank you for doing a video on this car.
***** You might say it's a Legendary record.
637,000 miles? That is INSANE. Great car.
Clutch im from atlana and my legend has like 362,000 super clean too. Whats some tips on keeping up with her cuz i wannaa take some road trips too
THATS CRAZY, my legend has 238,500 miles on it and i was always worried it’ll give out on me soon
Do you still have the Legend?
Honda should have kept the Legend name. :)
they did, but only in Japan
Reinstate the Legend?
@@mitzvahtorah7966 Yup (Acura RLX aka Honda Legend in Japan)
They need to bring it back
Yes, and the Integra
Wow, what the hell happened to acura. Today acura doesnt put any effort into their cars anymore. You cant even get real wood..sad
Lazy designers.

What’s wrong with you…….?
@luism8612 what's wrong with you?
The face looks way better than the current lineup, the new ones are kinda vulgar.
Great memories while watching this video again! 👍👍
in 94' I was 17 yrs old...these cars were so popular...they were stolen most of the time being that im from NYC
Wow dang!!!!

This car was THE SHIT when it came out

T Anderson "the shit" not was shit.
***** Okay, I learned something today. Thanks.
Terrance Collins And still are shit lol
FACT!!!
a key difference between a 94 legend and the BMW 750 he compared it to is the power windows seats and other electrical things still work 😂
"I don't want to drive this car aggressively and break his clutch" *hammers it and chirps wheels after dumping clutch into second*

the current RLX is a boring rounded jellybean compared to Acuras 20 years ago.
My 92 Legend Coupe LS 5 speed, Emerald Green, Ivory Interior. I wouldn't trade that car for nothing that rolls off the assembly line these days.
Grover Mitchell enjoy the car man, best looking luxury car of all time.

I had a 1995 Acura Legend L and I still miss it ! Great car, I wish I never sold mine, I just had too many cars at one point.
I'm guessing these cars have spent most of their life in the southwest, the dry conditions really help preserve them. Great classic Hondas.

What do you do for a living?
+Real Talk Aircraft electronics technician.
This video has me REALLY rethinking the selling of my 1993 Red Legend Coupe *Type II 6spd of course ;-)
damn a longitudinal v6 engine on a honda
El RedlineReview, as you just mentioned on this review on how Honda/Acura had made great vehicles in the past and mentioned Prelude, have you guys thought of making a review on a 4th gen Honda Prelude? if so in behave of a community of all Preludes that I'm very happy to be part of, us at BB Alliance TB would love to see a great review on a 4th gen Prelude(92-96) none other then by a great car review peeps like yourselfs
+TheSober619 Hehe! Reminded me of my old Prelude. The light steering make it easy to drive and with w4 steering, parking was with ease. LOL
Is this Matt Farah's million mile Lexus?
What happen to Acura now? Design looks terrible now!
Most beautiful car ever made! So sad I never had one. They should bring the name and design back.
If you ever need another 90's Acura to review, I'll let you review my Vigor. Lol
YESS. Do you have any videos of your Vigor?
Dillon1791 I've always toyed around with the idea of making a tour/review video but I never get around to doing it.
2Kriss2Kross Then do it, there aren't many of them out there!
Most favorite car I've driven. My first and current car. 94 as well but GS and sedan 🤘🏼
I'm sure not everything is original
The type 2 engine was a lot more reliable than the regular engine in most legends, only available in 93+ coupes and I believe 94 and 95 GS edition sedans
I had 202k on mine when I got rid of it. Engine and tranny were fine for the most part.
I had a 1989 acura legend it was faster than a dodge magnum 2.7 v6 and I had a 1992 acura legend L with the Bose sound system with the tweeters in the back
I have a 04 tsx but damn i wish i had a legend sedan on the side
i just crashed my 91 😭 it suck that its gone but ima try to find a new one
So awesome to see how long these cars can last, and look good doing so when you take care of them.
So cool. I got to drive Tyson's coupe back in 2010. I had just spent a crazy amount of money on a new BMW, but the Legend coupe was so much cooler.
That was the best car I ever owned and still wish owned one to this day.
"Smells like the 90's" that's Calvin Klein new fragrance.
it Always amazes me How smooth Honda's 90 Degree V6's are.....a lot of other 90 Degree 6's are Rough sounding & thrashy.
I miss my Arcadia (rebadged Legend in South Korea)
Dayumn what a beautiful panty-dropper! This was my dream in high school and college. 🥰
I also forgot to mention the 1995 V6 Accord packs a C27A, also non vtec. Which is also shared into the Legend.
What a beautiful car, thanks for the great review! Too bad the manual is slowly dying on cars like these.
Do more vids like this, new cars are garbage these days
And then Acura redesigned this car, dropped the Legend name and the boring RL was born. Its been downhill ever since. Unless things turn around, my current Acura TL will be my last Acura.
dumbest move ever. Lincoln is bringing back model names & moving away from alpha-numeric as well as revamping their whole line up. Acura should pay very close attention.
Littleathquakes The supreme irony is, the Legend name lives on in just about every other car market but the US.
my grandparents have this car. it has like 250k miles on it.
nice car. so this guy has 2 6 speed legends?? lucky....
Great review!!! It's a true drivers car. Pure feel and more luxurious than most cars built today! I'm still looking for a clean one worth buying.
I loved kicking this car in street fighter.
Yeah. That flashing NEVER DO THAT AGAIN.
