Thanks for the informative clip about Wechat app. My mom (92 yrs young) recently ditched her old ipad for a new ipad with bigger memory. Of course installing the app falls into my lap. I am having a hard time to get it to work. No problem installing the app into her new ipad which is using her old ipad apple ID and pwd. Not aware of Wechat having an international version in Apple app store so I downloaded the only version they offered. After download, Wechat setup offered two options - "iPad only" and "iPad n iPhone", I selected iPad only. I tried to login using her old Wechat ID and pwd but to no avail. Wanted to register her as a new user but there's no "Sign up" option in the home screen. I made sure her phone provider to enable oversea SMS and call feature for verification code but not receiving any code using the login using verification code option. Very frustrated and the only thing I can think of is Wechat doesn't like it if it sees the old Apple ID so it prevented setting up Wechat from scratch. Any ideas?

Only your friends can unblock you. It is very very risky to unblock people on WeChat, for if you do anything wrong, your friends are in trouble, not you.
Umm hello! I was scanning the QR Code for my friend aaaaand I may have run into some problems... So, the progress was very smooth at first, but when my friend got the 7th step & after I helped him scan the QR Code, it just kept saying "user is in an abnormal network" and woopie doopsie it failed. It's important that you and your friend are in synch. And that your friend uses mobile data not internet data to sign up. Also, for best results, your friend should use an iPhone, reinstall wechat, restart the phone, and try again. As a worst case, your friend can try a different phone and put their sim card inside to try again

Hello, I can’t change my phone number on my account, I had a Chinese phone number but it has expired now. I would like to change my battery in my IPhone 11, will the WeChat app log me out in the process? To login I have heard that you need your ID password and SMS code that will be sent to the number linked to your WeChat account, as I mentioned earlier that is problematic for me because that number is not active anymore. Can anyone advise me please, is it too risky for me to change my battery because I might also get logged out of WeChat?
There is a risk. If you don't change the device, logging in with account and password is enough. Just changing the battery should be okay, but changing phones is risky. As a last resort, make sure to have your emergency contact notified on WeChat before doing anything. You can under settings select an emergency contact to help you unlock your WeChat, but they must have an account. Have you tried changing phone numbers?

Suggest to only use phone number method. It works best with iPhone and uninstalling and reinstalling the newest version. Some people are very lucky and dont need the QR code, very rare

Suggest to only use phone number method. It works best with iPhone and uninstalling and reinstalling the newest version. Some people are very lucky and dont need the QR code, very rare
