- I updated my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE recently and about a week after the update my screen got a line on it. I had already read about many users facing this issue on the internet, dubbed the green line issue. My phone was out of warranty so, and it clearly happened after the last update.
This issue first started with One Plus phones.
The screen problem issue (green lines) after 1-2 years on AMOLED smartphones, after updates has become a widespread issue now.
All brands should offer a 3 year warranty if a device has OLED / AMOLED screen. Govt of India should look into this issue as smartphone manufacturers have failed us.

The fact that it's post update shows that it is part of the software update, so clear programed obsolescence
That's a another point ! If a manufacturer is promising 3 years of software update, I think the warranty for certain parts should also be that long.
I got it fixed from samsung at 502 rs. Now the scary part is that i get notifications of software updates. I am scared to update the phone now

How did u do it in so less? I also got a call yesterday from customer support, they took some details and said they'll come back with the best possible solution, so just want to know how did u manage to do it in so less??? Complete details will be much appreciated
I tried as much as I could with customer support after the same issue after April update. They didn’t give in at all and I’m really furious about Samsung for being so irresponsible. Never going to buy the brand again ever unless they fix it.
How old is your phone? And did they give you the water damage reason?

I wouldn't pay a penny. My galaxy watch 4 bricked after an update and they fixed it free of charge I hope my S21FE doesn't get this issue.

I have the same issue. The problem is the dynamic amoled 2x tech. No more samsung, I'll give iphone a shot as my daily driver.
The problem exists on the iPhone as well! Samsung makes the screen for apple 🍎

Most of the servis center not avaleable the basic part to reapere phone and solved the Costomer problem like charging sub board. Some samsung phone issue after 2year's ,18 months
Part availability seems to be location related problem. Here in mumbai the part was available after 2 days or ordering it.
Sir, I too facing green line issue in my S21FE after June update... Customer support said its not samsung fault and I need to pay full amount for display replacement.. I didn't accept they said to fill the charge sheet in nearby service center... Will they replace it with free of cost???
File the charge sheet with the service centre and take it up with customer support. This is a wide spread genuine issue. If enough people get behind it, they will have to replace it for free. It is a manufacturing defect.
Which variant is facing this problem the sd888 or exynos?

Brother, not only you are facing in S21 FE, even I am facing the same issue in Realme X7 Pro and in Realme Community its full of complaints and mostly are of X7 Pro. I got twice free screen replacements and now for third time i am facing and service centre people are denying for free replacement because of Water/Liquid Damage. My question to them was why twice green lines came without liquid damage and now with with liquid damage, The green line is not linked with water/physical damage, its something internal manufacturing defect, planned obsolescence by smartphone brands or some chances are even also due to software updates.
Now using Realme X7 Pro with one green line and its too annoying and shameful to use infront of others since they will think its a very old or cheap phone 😭
The connector seems to be a problem. It's happening to iphones and one plus also.
@@butimjeremy So now even I was thinking of buying phones worth between 30K to 50K this upcoming festive season because already facing green lines issue, and due to this I can't even sleep properly, because now even having potential of buying a good expensive phone cannot buy because of green lines since who knows when it will come and destroy all our hard-earned money. If you have any idea regarding which phones might not get etc please reply to me. And my father recently two weeks ago purchased Samsung Galaxy S23FE Exynos version is that also vulnerable? My dad is also crying now that he will also face this issue soon. These green lines have destroyed our lives.
@@butimjeremy Connector seems to be issue then why brands are not putting good quality product and why service centre peoples put that thing properly?? My question is this to them. And if its connector problem then they should not put t&c of physical and liquid damage.

I also done the some...but with little hiccup..that is I complain directly in CONSUMER FORUM...And after that samsung support called me told me to pay 2700rs apprx..I'm happy with...They said to visit centre on monday....we'll see how's that go..

You shouldn't have agreed,2700 hundred is a lot because you are not responsible for this already at all,my friend got told exactly the same amount but he refused to pay that also, ultimately they backed off and my friend paid Only 700rs or so and they replaced the display

Ask the service centre for help if it is warranty! If not you'll have to raise a complaint.
No, it's not in warranty, i have raised complaint, 1 week se emails, calls, messages karne ke baad call aya, mujhe sirf tax amount dena padega, about 2000rs. I accepted, abhi dekhte hain, kab karke dete hain.
@@Timir.G004 Follow up and ask them to give you a appointment. The process takes 20min to do! And the back cover takes 30min to fix again.

Bro I am owning sd888 one and from last 4months on reddit twitter and many s21fe development communities I get to know only exynos varients which are 1.5 years and above are facing such lines only after a security patch updates but not seen the same in sd till now
The SD888 phones are new production units so their screens might have the fix built in. MIGHT!

@@anshsaraf9232 Because there's no enough talk about this problem on the S21FE. When there's alot of news about this problem, the company will address the issue. Right now the issues are solved privately, and not with a public announcement.

I don't remember the guy's name! But it's not one person...the complaint is generated by the service centre and then the resolution is given directly to the service centre manager.
Samsung should start including other device costs in the brochure in this case.
"Post sale, out-of-warranty charges:
- Rs 236 to raise a complaint.
- 10% to be paid by the customer for our software goof up."

Thanks for the comment 🙂 I would suggest you check the Samsung community page for any such problems with the S23. Even UA-cam will have videos about this. And if there is an issue check the update that's causing this line. Sometimes it's just the early production units that have the problem.

Check the Samsung page for any recent complaints for people who have got the phone in the last 3 months.
Ok time to stop updating my phone and maybe you're just unlucky since I'm on the latest patch and I don't have this issue.

i am phone repair tecnician and i can say the line comes only by drop impact or water damage i have repaired 1000s of phones from samsung and other brands with line issues and they all ware either drop impact or water damage and never seen 1 caused by software
sometimes line does not apper immedetly after drop but after few days or weeks

My phone was didn't have any physical or water damage. I know its water resistant but I never wanted to try it out. Mostly the issue is caused because of a faulty connector during the manufacturing process. And I read many comments to keep the phone cool during the update process, so I removed the phone from the cover and made the update happene. But still this problem happened after 6 days of the update.
Wonder how come too many people including me got same issue at same time, , mine never dropped though and it's clearly related to software
Shut up chapri mechanic, I have a sumsung s21 fe and I have the problem. The line started appearing after May update and you can see that many have similar issues.

I have visited samsung service center but waha se kuch help nai mila fir service center par bhi call Kiya tha wohi time pe toho unhone kuch toho report nikalne bola tha uss report ka exact name nai pata mujey bhai Toho wo report generate kiya aur wo report service center walo ko gaya fir service center ko call Kiya mayne uss report main meray mobile ki condition and all mentioned thi like yeah girne ke wajha se toho nai huwa hayna toho wo report main bhi dikra hay ki update ke glitch ke wajha se huwa hay toho bhi wo log nai karke dayre issue resolve bolre ki unki policy nai hay mujey display he change karwana Hoga wohe ek solution hay aur company wale kuch help nai karenge pura 12.5k pay karna hoga
