      That's a another point ! If a manufacturer is promising 3 years of software update, I think the warranty for certain parts should also be that long.

    The main reason of this issue is the not proper calibration of the Amoled displays which were produced by Samsung during the 2021-2022 time gap. These screens are distributed to Apple, Oneplus and many other and ofcourse Samsung itself. The main reason of the lines popping out is due to the heat generated during software updates. OnePlus stopped using Samsung displays in their 12 and 12R models and I haven't seen any green line or similar issues in it. Make sure to wait for a week or two before updating your device and if possible update it in a cool place avoiding unnecessary heat sources.

      Thanks for the detailed comment. I tried updating my phone with the AC and fan on. Also removed my phone case and kept it in the open for air flow. But I still got the line.

    Thanks Jeremy for this video. I had the same issue, took it to my local Samsung Service Center around July 18th and they made no fuss and told me that post approval (i.e. if there is no physical and water damage), it would take 15 days for the screen to come. I then left the phone there ( felt a bit skeptical of leaving it there but took the chance). I then got a repair reference number after 2 days from which I could track the repair, the screen was ordered right away ( I assume the approval was given by that time) it took around 3 weeks and today I collected my phone. So yes, I only had to wait for 3 weeks and pay the Rs. 502 labour fee, other than that the process was hassle free. Thanks for your video and it motivated me and gave me a good picture of how to approach this issue.

    Yesterday, my s21fe5g also developed a vertical line after a software update. When I contacted the samsung customer support he directed me to go the nearest service centre. He also informed me that Samsung have a free screen replacement policy for such defects which is valid till sept 2024. The service centre guy checked my mobile for any physical or water damage. My phone is in perfect condition. They said they will order for the replacement screen unit, and call me when it arrives. I just have to pay some service charges of Rs.500. I am waiting for their call in 3-4 days.

      Updated policy of Samsung for Line display issue in some of their phones including S21fe5g etc.
      There are few VOC’s from customers regarding Line in display in their handset during Out warranty period without any physical damage or waterlogged sign.
      To support the customers, it is decided to consider this issue for only one-time FOC replacement of OCTA assembly along with Battery & Rework Kit in above said model until 30th Sep 2024.
      This policy is applicable one time only within 3 years of handset purchase for FOC parts to the 1st Purchaser only with original invoice however Labor charges to be paid by customer.

    Mine too got green line after an update on 2nd october on my s21 fe . After visiting service centre they issued a job sheet but now they asked me to pay the whole price to replace .I am out of warranty and my phone has no scratches and dent

      You'll have to prove that it happened because of the update! I had recorded videos of my phone before and after. Still try to speak to customer service.

      I didn't update cause i saw this issue popping on reddit a lot. But on oct 7 it somehow installed the update automatically. Today i got the white line. Way too f-ed up.

    5:50 you forgot to mention built-in microwave feature. Its my favourite. If my coffee gets cold, i just dip the phone in it, viola instantly get my hot coffee.

      @@butimjeremy if you use the phone with case, you wouldn't feel much heat. But if you try it without cover, you might experience how hot the metal frame gets sometimes.

      @@butimjeremy great 😃. I feel overheating usually when i am using UA-cam in picture in picture mode while playing a game. It is not unbearable but it feels hot.

      @IncognitoSahil yes you are right it often reaches 42°C yet I don't do anything special. I bought a cooler because I often felt the metal heating up and almost burned my hands.

    I tried as much as I could with customer support after the same issue after April update. They didn’t give in at all and I’m really furious about Samsung for being so irresponsible. Never going to buy the brand again ever unless they fix it.

      Bro complain to them on twitter and raise a complaint directly in a samsung service center after that if they say that they will not fix it tell them you will go to consumer court. Mine got fixed for service charge only after got line in April update.( the service charge I had to pay was because they insisted on having the original bill for no cost repair most likely they wanted a reason to avoid responsibility) even after all this they don't fix go for consumer court and complain that they are purposefully doing this and avoiding responsibility since it happens to multiple phones

      @@sujithsudhakaran745 Bro already complained in the service center. My case got escalated to Delhi (I live in Mumbai). After countless hours on calls and visits to the service center and weeks of processing, they told me my case isnt eligible for free of cost repair due to the age of my device ( something they were well aware of since day 1. My phone has no cracks, scratches, scuffs, not even water damage. It is pathetic how they are treating their customers and getting away with it. Keep in mind my device is a Note 20 Ultra, a flagship from samsung, cant image what kind of treatment entry level or midrange phone users face. Pathetic and disappointing.
      I have also lodged a complain in the consumer forum, after which i received a call from the higher up saying "Our decision is final, we cannot help you". I dont see how I can take this case forward. I have been a loyal customer to samsung have used almost all 'S' series phones in the past dating back to S2 and this is the second time this is happening to me after my S7 edge had the same exact issue and no support from samsung till the end. I dont see myself buying another samsung product in the future if I get no resolution this time.

    My sister has an s21fe which was working fine a few days back but since last week after an update it’s facing major network issues, even making a phone call seems difficult. When we took that phone to the service centre they reset the software and nothing changed, now they are saying that it’s a motherboard issue and we will have to change the whole motherboard which will cost us around 22k. The device is just 15 months old and it’s literally unusable now. What’s the use of AI updates if you cannot connect to the internet. Really disappointed, never buying a Samsung phone ever again.

    Now Samsung has reconsidered free replacement, Samsung India Support confirmed its free screen replacement program has been extended. It is now available for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra users. The period for this screen replacement program is valid until 30 September 2024. Moreover, those devices should have been purchased within three years from the date of the repair request. Samsung also revealed that while the screen panel will be available free of cost, users have to bear the labor charges and need to have the original purchase bill. I hope you have a great day.

    Same thing happened with my Samsung s21 fe 😢 I was very sad and was scared to tell at home. I remember using the phone and then putting it on charge. After sometime when I got it back on suddenly I see a line. I hadn't dropped it or anything so I was surprised that how did it happen. But after some research online I found out i wasn't the only one with this issue.
    The service center said that they'll change the screen for free and will only charge service cost which is Rs 500 . I haven't repaired yet but atleast I am relieved to not pay ridiculous money for something i didn't cause in the first place. I have been a Samsung user for over a decade and never faced such faulty update glitch.

    I am also a victim. I bought a phone worth Rs. 35,000. In 20 months, first a line appeared on the screen, then gradually the whole screen got damaged. The service center is asking for Rs. 13,000. I don't want to buy any Samsung product.

    It has happened to me too. I have a S22 ultra. I used to live in SG and got the phone there. They got me into the trouble of retrieving my old receipt and then said they will charge me Rs. 19300+ for repair as it was bought overseas. It happened after a software update and my phone is functioning fine otherwise. I think they are finding silly reasons to not fix it for free anymore. There service sucks.

    I faced the same issue, samsung customer care nor service centre provided any help.finally exchanged for OnePlus 12r at a very low exchange price. Huge loss for me buying s21fe the price also dropped after 1 months of purchase. No more samsung for me anymore not in my dreams too..

    Good that you posted a video on this. Best solution is gathering the victims and filing the legal suit against samsung irrespective of its model of year of purchase date if they deny to service it for free, infact they need to pay a compensation even after the free replacement for the days we left without that phone. Also give the assurance that it won't repeat again and if repeats then free replacement again. And the losses due to absence differs person to person, they can add all kind of expense and file the suit for the time been wasted by Samsung. Let them be Genuine. If not consumers must stay united and make a lesson to samsung and other OEMs as well proactively, so that every updates will be well tested before it's release to public mass. Else other OEMs will tend to do the same to lure public money, think of of some one who buy only a phone of cost 10k worth with loan and his condition to fore go such OEM faults. Things to be empathised from the shoes of worst affected victims.

    My Galaxy Flip 3 also has the same issue. After tweeting about it, they called me and said that my model isn't eligible for a free screen replacement and the service center told me that replacing the screen would cost 31,000 rupees.

    Same issue with my S22 ultra. After update (30 September 24) 1 green line came on display. At service center they told me to pay full amount that is 23000 for screen replacement. After some mails and phone call, final result is i have to pay 3400 for screen replacement. Now my phone is working fine.

      Mine too. Had the same issue with m52 5g. I didn't get it repair. But now again ordered new phone from Samsung ie s21 fe 5g snapdragon variant hoping there won't be any issues but now I'm seeing these reviews and comments. Again fear started. Should I go with s21 fe 5g or I should cancel it. Please suggest anyone..

      @@swarooppabbineedi1820 I would suggest! Skip the S21FE and get the S23 FE. Even if you buy a new S21FE there's no guarantee that you won't face the same issue after a year. If it happens under warranty you can get it replaced, otherwise they might not put out a screen replacement offer.

    Finally after 2 weeks of getting green and pink lines on my S22+ and frequently sending mails and making calls, complaints, Samsung gave me free display and battery replacement, no physical or no liquid damages found on my phone which is 1yr n 5 months old. The service center told me to continue updating my phone as it wan't happen again

      Yeah they told me the same thing back in June. I have no seen the line again since then. However I remove my phone cover and make sure the phone is cool while updating.

    "Post sale, out-of-warranty charges:
    - Rs 236 to raise a complaint.
    - 10% to be paid by the customer for our software goof up."

    My dad's suffered from the same issue here in Brazil. He also have a S21 FE. I faced the same issue exactly one year ago with my S20+. Such a coincidence, isn't it?

      No, samsung is way better just get the newer models. This issue came due to samsung amoled displays which were not properly calibrated. Apple also sourced their displays from Samsung so they also have same issue. They have fixed in newer models

    Sir, I too facing green line issue in my S21FE after June update... Customer support said its not samsung fault and I need to pay full amount for display replacement.. I didn't accept they said to fill the charge sheet in nearby service center... Will they replace it with free of cost???

      File the charge sheet with the service centre and take it up with customer support. This is a wide spread genuine issue. If enough people get behind it, they will have to replace it for free. It is a manufacturing defect.

    Brother, not only you are facing in S21 FE, even I am facing the same issue in Realme X7 Pro and in Realme Community its full of complaints and mostly are of X7 Pro. I got twice free screen replacements and now for third time i am facing and service centre people are denying for free replacement because of Water/Liquid Damage. My question to them was why twice green lines came without liquid damage and now with with liquid damage, The green line is not linked with water/physical damage, its something internal manufacturing defect, planned obsolescence by smartphone brands or some chances are even also due to software updates.

      You can go to the service centre and tell them about the issue. They will check for physical or water damage.
      I suggest you also raise a complaint with customer service. You'll need to explain to them that many people are facing this issue and it's not just you.

      @@Sidhu_2005 It was raised by the service centre based on what I told them. They charge ₹236 to raise the complaint.
      I told them the phone was fine before the update, and after the update a line appeared. They checked for physical and water damage and forwarded the complaint to Delhi.

    Same problem with OnePlus. The good part is OnePlus is replacing the display for free and have also given a free screen replacement offer to all it's affected users which is valid till 2029. The only issue is that the green line is a recurring problem. I changed my display a month back for the second time.

      The problem is not limited to Samsung, but it is happening to Amoled displays. So if your next phone has a IPS LCD then it should be fine. I would suggest to get a phone thats been around for a while and check the web for any information about screen lines.

    I had the same problem. After lodging a complaint in consumer forum, they agreed to my request of free replacement. But now the problem is it's been a week since I submitted my phone to service centre and they are saying the Company still hasn't approved it.

    I am facing the same issue of the green line today on 10th October and i contacted the authorized service center for the same problem but they denied to fix the issue stating there are no new guidelines for this issue and the old guidelines were till September 30th .       You shouldn't have agreed,2700 hundred is a lot because you are not responsible for this already at all,my friend got told exactly the same amount but he refused to pay that also, ultimately they backed off and my friend paid Only 700rs or so and they replaced the display

      @@butimjeremy I'm in Nigeria, they denied me free replacement. I was using the snapdragon version from US, and was asked to take it back to a shop in the place of purchase to get a free replacement.
      Those were really frustrating times, I endured it from late December till mid March, I eventually sold it as a scrap piece to a phone repairer and bought s20 FE 5G.
      I haven't had issue with this one, but I think that's because this one hasn't been getting any recent updates.
      I do believe they're rendering our devices obsolete purposely, to force upgrades.

    If it's a software issue it should affect everybody who has updated the software but that's definitely not the case. I have been using the s21 fe exynos version since 3 yrs and have never had any issue as such. The green line issue might occur due to hardware damage that might have been caused due to overheating while you might have updated. Not sure if you had removed the case while you updated your phone. Updates are really heavy and put up a lot of stress on that exynos chip and a case just worsens the situation as the heat is not able to dissipate due to the non conductive material.
    Anyway, this is just my opinion. At the end of the day the issue might have occurred due to the overheating chip which is really not a consumer's fault.

      Yes! I heard about the overheating problem during updates. All my phone updates are done with the phone cover removed and the AC switched on with the phone elevated to let some cold air get around the phone. Despite all of this the phone did get the line.

      @@aritranath138 Yes I'm very much aware of that, but phones are no longer over heating like they used to 7-8yrs back, I owned a redmi note 3 which used to overheat and its back was no less than iron box, now the tech has improved & cooling mechanisms are induced into chipsets & panels.
      Heating may be one of the reason for green line, but core reason is something else. Many corporate employees who spend most of their day in office AC also have faced green line issues on their devices.

My case starts from Jan 2023, I fight till end(starts with 1 green line ends with 20+lines) In Malaysia no free replacement. Finally I replaced at local shop. But original display with frame. But I'm still with fear.

    i got the white line on my samsung m51 while using.. its been a while since it go last update (1 to 1.5 months may be)
    all i could point out for this issue would be charging.. while charging sometimes my mobile gets heat every once in a while.. i dont play heavy games too.. so i can confirm that my phone either get heated up rarely when i keep charging or when i use mobile internet.. that is also rarely
    i never dropped, water damaged, etc..
    bought it in jan 2021..so there's no chance of warranty.
    original amoled display price 9000rs😢
    and lcd is around 3500rs
    please help me.. will samsung service provide free exchange ? but i didnt record before and after videos as it came out of nowhere 1 month after update.
    also i want to know if they remove my entire data if i replace the screen ?? so i need to backup.

      The point you made about heat is true! Less heat helps the phone and battery last longer. There is a co relation between heat and the screen like issue, although is not proven.
      I don't know if samsung has any screen replacement policy for this phone. No data is lost when they change the screen.

    Umm bro can you confirm one thing that this green line issue come when samsung phone over heats or after a software update.
    Because I today only updated the software. ONE UI 6.1
    I have a budget phone (A14 5G)

    After the security patch update exactltly on 29th of august , in my s21 fe toady i got the green line appearing on my screen suddenly ... tried restarting multiple times and still its not helping , i got my phone on march 2022 , which is almost 2.6 years..what shall i do now??

      Watched it but i think what they mentioned in the article is the free replacement is for the phone without any physical damage but my phone has slight scratches on the side panel, but the screen is completely fine ..i guess they wont give a free replacement for me 😢

      @@jeevilovesmakeup you can go to the service centre and check. In the S21FEs case the side frame is part of the screen during replacement. So try your luck!

    Gave them the phone on 14 sep 2024 still no email call sms from the service centre.
    Dont know what should i do

      The screen replacement takes 2hrs. Ask them about the delay. When they ordered the part for me it took 4 -5 days.

      @@butimjeremy they told me that first they have to take approval after that they can repair. When i ask when i will get the approval they replied to me That i will get a copy of approval at my registered email ID. Still today 22 sep 2024 not received a single email from Samsung and also they did not provide Job sheet for my mobile

      @@sanjaysinha7698 I don't understand why they took the phone is they still need approval? Even I had to wait for approval but I phone was with me and after the approval came the Samsung representative in Delhi asked the service centre to order the part for me.
      Then they changed the part in front of me and only the process of gluing the frame together was done in the back end.

      @@butimjeremy nop. 1 and half year old. Actually when the service executive contacted me they said the discounted price will be around 2k. But service center said it won't be cost that much and the final approved rate was 500.

      I don't know what is the status of the A73. But if it's happening after a software update then it should be brought to Samsung.

    Bro I had same issue Samsung repaired my phone free of cost . But my concern is they did not tell me the reason of the line issue in s21 fe model. Do you know anything like how can we avoid this issue in future. Anything u know please share that would help us. I am worried like should I continue using this phone for more 2 year or buy new phone except Samsung.

    I wouldn't pay a penny. My galaxy watch 4 bricked after an update and they fixed it free of charge I hope my S21FE doesn't get this issue.

    Most of the servis center not avaleable the basic part to reapere phone and solved the Costomer problem like charging sub board. Some samsung phone issue after 2year's ,18 months
