However, as mentioned in the video, only one free replacement is allowed. The repair process took about 15 days. Unfortunately, the green line returned after approximately 9 months.

Hi, I'm from the Philippines, and based on my observations as a technician and tech enthusiast, I've noticed that flex cables can disconnect due to corrosion or heat. They don't use gold plating, so even with careful handling, they can still corrode and disconnect. In AMOLED displays, the flex can also disconnect due to corrosion and overheating. Without gold plating, corrosion can affect other connections, leading to issues like green lines or, in worse cases, a green or white screen. I've observed that Huawei phones and those manufactured by BOE tend to have fewer issues. It's more common with Samsung, Apple, and OnePlus, and some Samsung displays may suffer from low manufacturing quality.
Only three days ago one of my friend's S 22 plus got green line issue in his phone. And despite having said that samsung will give five years security and software updates still it got green lines. And samsung service center is asking for more than 12000 rs to replace the screen. This is pathetic!
Same problem. After update my samsung galaxy S20+ phone appearing green line. First 1 green line after some day increase line. Now total 9 green nd pink line on display. Samsung service center not giving free replacement.
Recently faced the issue of Green line in my S20 fe 5g. When I visited the service center they told there isn't any policy for your phone and therefore i was charged with rupees 8,300 on a device which was only 1.5yrs old. Really disappointed with the Samsung's Policy and I was charged a lot for an issue which was not because of my negligence...
My friend faced the green line issue on s21fe and they said the same thing. But he kept on calling them and sending emails he got his screen replaced at rs 500
@@CLOYO hey, i dont do anything while charging but Im curious about heating. When talking to apple store seller, they admited that iphones generally heats a lot. And not properly build for hot countries like ours. But still they have less greenline issues. But android theres more of greenline. I guess after corona cost cutting is reason behind freenline. Otherwise take any phone before 2019, no greenline.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro and few days back the screen went white entirely and was flickering on the top and the bottom with bottom being more bright than the top this issue happened out of no where, without any drop or any physical damage or any water damage, the phone is working, like I can touch where I know through my muscle memory, unlock, use torch, Siri, answe calls and lock the phone. The issue came and went randomly. So I went to the Apple Service Center, their official statement was "Even though your phone is out of warranty, if they do not find any water or physical damage, they will replace the screen for free, as this is a known issue with 13 series, Apple hasn't acknowledged it publically but internally they have been trained to do so" and when I was there 3 more people came with similar issue on regular iPhone 13 model. On my service sheet they have written the issue as "Green Line" issue.
I have been waiting for a youtuber to tackle this issue for years. Please dig further, i know there is more to the causes and solutions than what you mentioned. It's a big issue in Nigeria, mostly affecting Samsung phones (personally had the issue with S9, S22 Ultra & Z fip3). I have friends that totally abandoned Samsung because of this.
This happened to my s22 ultra also, so dissapointed in Samsung cause they refused to fix it even on a discount, bought the phone brand new from their office.. Nigeria also
Reasons for green line issue: Mostly found in India which is a quality check failure Motherboard & screen replacement is the costliest Software update done while charging phone Phone gets heat while updating If phone falls on ground often If phone fallen in water Phone and motherboard connection loose Solution: Some brands provide Free replacement only under warranty Its a hardware problem that cannot be fixed by software update Screen replacement Don't update the phone if its old Dont update phone immediately delay it until there is no issue reported or bugs fixed Turn off automatic updates Dont leave the screen on for longer time
i think its mostly a quality issue in smartphones available in indua. the standards are not upto the mark like most other products in the indian market
Samsung refused a free of cost Pink line issue for my S22plus phone without a single physical damage (which the Samsung service itself agreed upon) saying the device is 9 months out of warranty. This is really frustrating and needs to be brought into mass media and some measures should be takenup to hold such companies accountable for such quality issues. Its Ironic that with all the latest screen glass technologies the service center personnel told me it could be because you pressed the display too hard, I almost laughed.
Here in Brazil Samsung Service also sucks. I sent my phone to them twice, one via mail other personally, because my brand new S20FE came with some shadows in the screen that are very visible with dark grey backgrounds and annoyed me a lot. They just said it was fine and in spec even though it wasn't. (and I already had past the time of return since I only notice these shadows with a month) Later my sister bought the same phone and it came just fine without any shadows. Next time I might go with Apple or any other brand.
Making your own channel is the best decision ever. Such a nice and genuine video. By the way, my ONEPLUS phone is just scheduled to be picked up tomorrow for the green line (vertical) fixing.
Donot over Charge the phone, and also dont update the phone when it is charging or the temperature is high. As overheating is one of the major factor for this issue which makes the display connector strip to get damaged.
Overcharge is not a issue. Temperature is the main reason, While charging don't update the phone. When the phone is already freakin hot then don't update at the time. Yes, updating a device increases the temperature (even unplugged), we need to rest the device in a chill place while updating (sounds like a bag of chips, but yeah) The reason is during the update display connector soldering(or connection) is getting weaken or disconnected due to heat / sudden voltage difference(?)
I request that every tech channel should mention the Moto service center experience and their quality control issues before recommending any Moto phone. Because for all those who face any problems with a Moto phone, they never receive proper service.
Bro , my father's G54 5g's camera lens was broken & Motorola service center charges me ₹2500 + mechanics charge . ₹2500 only for lens 😢 . Motorola care is So bad. That's why i didn't repair.
My friend's iPhone also got a green line without an update. The amount for the new display 22K. I wish to have rules against these green line and motherboard issues.
I also got the Green line on my one plus 9 mobile but, got the replacement of it at the OnePlus service centre. They offered me 11R by paying 3999 (difference amount). Only OnePlus is doing justice for the green line issue .
I also had green line issue with OnePlus 9R in May'24, company gave me the voucher to purchase 11R. But I don't think other companies are entertaining customers' complaints for green line issue.
@@art_lunatic they were giving 3 options at that time - 1. Get the screen replaced free of cost 2. Give them the phone and charger to get a voucher of ₹17000 to buy any OnePlus phone. 3. Give them the phone and charger to get a voucher of ₹31000 to buy OnePlus 11R specifically - I opted for this.
I have a Xiaomi 12 pro, which got a green line(vertical) after 2 years 1 month of usage. It had only 1 year warranty and no additional extended warranty. I contacted the service centre, they asked me to submit the phone. Checked its condition and sent a request to Xiaomi for approval. And finally got free screen replacement even though the phone was out of warranty period. So please do your research properly before making claims. I noted similar experiences reported online by many other Xiaomi 12 and 12 pro users
I have been using moto edge 30 ultra for 2 years and in the past 1 and half months, the green line issue started. But I noticed one pattern in the issue that whenever the battery is around 30 the issue kicks very often. It doesn't show up when the battery is 50 up. This line comes temporarily and goes on its own. I didn't visit the service centre knowing that the only option left is to replace the screen which will cost more than 10k. So yeah enjoying the green laser light 😉
the problem is with phones using samsung displays, most of the chinese phones started using BOE displays, Xiaomi is using BOE displays for some time, ithink thats why they don't reported many issues
That is the way we should track. Component supplier wise segregation for green line issue. I hope this is not a universal phenomenon & limited to one supplier only.
From today's context,Samsung flagships have more display issues than any other phones in the market...Every Samsung phone sucks after one year of usage. But they dont provide any refund or free display replacement. Indian govt should force Samsung to give us free replacement like oneplus...As there are lots of Samsung users in India

Thanks for speaking on updates, i can't tell you how many friends and other people I've seen talking about only updates while they are using the same Windows 10 laptop for 5 years. My motorola g52 bought in 2022. Had green line issues 3 times. Thats it 3 fking times. First time it was under warranty and they replaced display for free. Not even after 6 months after that the next set of lines came. Again they changed it for free. Now after one year same story. This time they refused to replace it for free and I contacted the customer carea and all. No positive reply. So I filed a complaint in district consumer court. Amazing and concise information to raise awarness. Keep it up. One more thing to try and avoid the Green line issue: Keep the device cool while updating. Most of the problems seem to occur right after an update, during which the phone heats up. AMOLED displays are the most susceptible to overheating. Hence, place the device on some metallic surface or use a rear-mounted cooling device while updating to keep temperatures low.

It's on consumer. Nallas want 16GB RAM phone, 1 billion years software update but never asks why their fav brand, who has launched "bestestestestest phone" costing 1lakh+, shit in their pants while providing warranty for more than 1year. I mean are they not confident on the hardware that it'd last more than 1 year?

My Moto G82 has 1 green and 1 pink line which appeared right in front of my eyes while I was watching a video! That thing was crazy! Motorola isn't offering screen replacement solution (neither free nor discounted) and the worst part is the screen of my 2 year old phone officially costs around 8.5k! I am forced to live with it for a few more months now and then literally scrap the phone (cause no 2nd hand mobile purchasing company will take it from me with this issue)! BEAUTIFUL! ❤🔥
My advise is: 1) Brands must have to do some research on these kind of issues and make the consumers aware on what kind of settings will prevent the "Green Lines". 2) Create a separate fund for this like both the Brand and consumers will invest in specific funds (nominal amount like Rs.200 quarterly). During the life cycle of the device, service centers will consume these funds for costly replacements. So, it will be more easy on customer's pocket rather than huge dents on each visit to service center. 3) Long Term software & security support like 5 yrs software updates and lifetime security support. If they can provide life time security updates support believe me it will reduce a lot of e-waste as well. 4) Buy back policies like once the mobile device life cycle comes to an end then the brand must have to buy back the devices and recycle the usable parts will reduce even more e-waste. ***Profits are important but customer service & more concerned about environmental issues are also "Equally Important" - "NO MATTER WHAT!!!".***
I've just cleared my green line issue today.. Samsung service center is ready to change display for rs 500. And as far as I know this facility is valid up to 31 st December. I decided not to go to the service centre since a year back I dropped the phone in water and had to get my battery connector replaced by a third party mobile service centre (phone was out of warranty) and now I know what the service centre guys will say and will cost me at least 5-6k to change the display. Might as well use the phone in that condition until I can manage the funds for a new phone! Just sharing!
Im one of the unluckier ones. The iqoo 5 i had about 4 years ago had the green line. Then my next phone, the realme gt2 pro also got it. Both times, they appeared about 20 and 26 months in, both after the warranty ended. Realme allowed for a free screen replacement after verifying that it wasn't caused by human mishandling. My sister's gt2 pro also experienced the same problem (we bought our phones around the same time and the line appeared on hers a few weeks after mine😒) and she never updates her phone. So... But that is also not true because india has many states where temperatures are cold but these states customers also facing same issues. The only right explanation left is that these companies are using sub standard screens for us and no one wants to highlight the real issue. We all customers in india are being fooled by these companies since last 4 years. I thought these youtubers will raise our voices for indian consumers but they are also not highlighting the main reason behind all this. This is actually a fraud done by these companies with indian consumers
LCD was hated a few years back calling it prehistoric. It may have not so deep blacks but they never had any complaints ❤
LCD has even bigger issues with ghosting, color fade and the back light dies much faster than OLEDs.

This green line issue has been such a headache for so many people! Glad to see videos like this shedding light on the problem. Hoping brands take responsibility and offer proper fixes instead of leaving users hanging. 🤞📱
If I change the screen, will it disappear?
Only three days ago one of my friend's S 22 plus got green line issue in his phone. And despite having said that samsung will give five years security and software updates still it got green lines. And samsung service center is asking for more than 12000 rs to replace the screen. This is pathetic!

Sad thing. They said they will give 5 years of software support not hardware

Number 1 tip is don’t update your phone while it’s charging.
It will heat up the device and chances of this issue occurring increases significantly.
Does that mean you shouldn't play games on mobile as that will heat too?

From where did you bought the apple 13 pro?

I have been waiting for a youtuber to tackle this issue for years. Please dig further, i know there is more to the causes and solutions than what you mentioned. It's a big issue in Nigeria, mostly affecting Samsung phones (personally had the issue with S9, S22 Ultra & Z fip3). I have friends that totally abandoned Samsung because of this.
This happened to my s22 ultra also, so dissapointed in Samsung cause they refused to fix it even on a discount, bought the phone brand new from their office.. Nigeria also
only rupesh and ranjit have talked in extent regarding this issue. kudos to them 👏 👏
Reasons for green line issue:
Mostly found in India which is a quality check failure
Motherboard & screen replacement is the costliest
Software update done while charging phone
Phone gets heat while updating
If phone falls on ground often
If phone fallen in water
Phone and motherboard connection loose
Solution:
Some brands provide Free replacement only under warranty
Its a hardware problem that cannot be fixed by software update
Screen replacement
Don't update the phone if its old
Dont update phone immediately delay it until there is no issue reported or bugs fixed
Turn off automatic updates
Dont leave the screen on for longer time
i got to know about dc dimming feature and its importance today...thanks rupesh
i think its mostly a quality issue in smartphones available in indua.
the standards are not upto the mark like most other products in the indian market
sad but true, I don't buy any things made in india, especially costly electronics
Samsung India is the worst, I switched to vivo
Here in Brazil Samsung Service also sucks. I sent my phone to them twice, one via mail other personally, because my brand new S20FE came with some shadows in the screen that are very visible with dark grey backgrounds and annoyed me a lot. They just said it was fine and in spec even though it wasn't. (and I already had past the time of return since I only notice these shadows with a month) Later my sister bought the same phone and it came just fine without any shadows. Next time I might go with Apple or any other brand.

Samsung needs to do some quality control in its amoled manufacturing
Donot over Charge the phone, and also dont update the phone when it is charging or the temperature is high. As overheating is one of the major factor for this issue which makes the display connector strip to get damaged.
But bro many smartphones get pretty damn hot while installing update, even if they are unplugged.
Over charge ? Do you mean charging till 100 ??
He probably meant don't charge your phone when its hot and update only on battery.
Overcharge is not a issue.
Temperature is the main reason, While charging don't update the phone.
When the phone is already freakin hot then don't update at the time.
Yes, updating a device increases the temperature (even unplugged), we need to rest the device in a chill place while updating (sounds like a bag of chips, but yeah)
The reason is during the update display connector soldering(or connection) is getting weaken or disconnected due to heat / sudden voltage difference(?)
@@AviGamer5021 thats normal but dont update the phone when its hot, start the update when the temperature is normal preferably in a cool temperature

Oh finally someone who gave us what we really "need" to know.
Good Information man!!
Much needed video! 💯
Never forget. Also Sony Xperia 5 series (Mark 2 and 3 also have this issues due to their Trilluminous display made by Samsung panels.)
Amazing Work! 👏🏻
