- Embarking on a big project here. Just a short video to kick things off, an overview of what I plan to build. I won't say it'll become the quintessential looking Gypsy Wagon, as there's so many different variations. But I'll try to land somewhere in the middle. Follow along folks as I work my way through this, and as always, stay well.
Mark.
It will be great fun and I envy you - I have TALKED about an authentic gypsy wagon for about the last 35 years and dreamed about taking my wife and three young children along the dirt back roads for a holiday - the children are now 40 , so I guess it will have to be the grandchildren . Enough about me , have a great fun time building it and an even greater fun time , taking it out on the road . One thing - PLEASE DO NOT TOW IT WITH A MOTORISED VEHICLE - horse power only .
Unfortunately we don't have the kind of quiet dirt roads of old around us. But I haven't ruled out a horse appearing in a future video :)
Most likely though it will rest stationary as a tiny dwelling.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Looking forward to the build, shall sit back & enjoy your journey along the way.👍👍👍👍
Cheers Barry. 🙂
cool as ol mate , im looking forward to it , wish ya was next door id help ya with it for sure i got the tools ya will be needing to do the wood work any way good luck and dont rush it.
Cheers. Will be taking my time with it for sure. 👍
It looks just like my undercarriage whitch is a schlits bear wagon from 1876
I googled schlitzs wagon images. It's similar, no doubt, but not a schlitz. I haven't yet fully identified mine, but I'm guessing definitely a heavy goods cart of some kind. Maybe for an Australian beer!
I watched your video you are a teacher genius amazing with the patience of a Saint
I just had a caravan built love it some changes needed
When will we see the finished wagon
Love all your work the ceiling is splendid. Angela

Unfortunately I have no idea when it will be finished. I seem to be creating more work along the journey!
