Damn destiny community has been hurting even more after this death. Both Zavala saw Amanda as a daughter and it’s sad he is buried one more person in his life. This is the saddest season I ever experienced beside Season of the Haunted

@@God-Tbruh.... It's a game they have to kill people sometimes to keep the story going. And emotional draw helps massively in story building. Just look at cayde.

Hearing Lance's voice is like a knife through the heart right now. I don't know how I'll be able to play through the rest of this season, especially after an in-game scene like this.
It’s interesting. There have been several actors that I’ve known who have unfortunately passed far too soon. Yet as terrible as they were Mr Reddick’s passing has affected me far more. I haven’t touched destiny 2 since the news of his passing. Not crying or anything at all but it just doesn’t feel the same. Now We have Amanda’s sacrifice……..it just feels strange now
@@Blajammer Same. I can't bear to play at all right now, after years of playing at least a few times every week. I think it's because Lance was so enmeshed with what Destiny is, that hearing familiar lines like the Lake of Shadows strike- a strike we have probably all played hundreds of times, to the point where we can navigate it blindfolded- now comes with the painful realization that after this season, there'll be nothing new from Zavala ever again. The game has lost a pillar we always knew was there and maybe even took for granted, and it hurts knowing he's gone.

@WallCrawlerReviews, here's something to note that may give you hope: from the news reporter on Neomuna, they said that there was a ghost roaming around without a guardian. Might be hers.
A lot of people say that they saw her death coming a mile away because of her increased screen time but I didn't. I genuinely thought that she was getting more screen time because she was going to be the main character this season and would play a role later down the line in Final Shape.
Seeing her go like this wasn't dissapointing but rather shocking.
This is the tone for the story that I was expecting from Lightfall.

Definitely saw it coming, on the poster for season of defiance it shows Mara Sov in the background but it almost looks like a ghost of Amanda. Everything building up to it and her sad background story just foreshadowed her death. Even the bit when Ghost said something like this must be a hard mission if Amanda needs our help with this one.

Damn it, I feel so bad for Crow and Zavala mourning Amanda’s passing after Lance’s death is turbo depressing. Not to mention Rohans death took place this season as well. Man we really are losing this fight.

she is being resurrected as a guardian next week and is going to be the first-ever Dark guardian. and she kills zavala this is a last minute change to the story as the voice actor for Zavala has died amanda kills Zavala and the crow hunts her. this is going to set everything up for the new Dark guardian seasons that are coming

Crow sounds like our guardian when forsaken came out but Zavala's line just hits so hard missing Lance already.
Honestly I wouldn't put it past Bungie to bring back Amanda as a Guardian with her memories in tact.
With how much she was talking about wanting to be on the frontline with guardians, I'd not be surprised if she becomes one. It honestly seemed almost like she was jealous of guardians.

I heard somewhere that poukas can restore memories, but I can't verify the validity of the information because I only heard it second hand, no matter how reliable the source... I'm just sick and fucking tired of the deus ex machina going on, man. Tired of being the silent muscle to everyone else's plot and being force-fed a story I should feel something for, but don't.
I know right? this was my first thought after finishing the mission although I doubt she'll get her memories back, being a master pilot is more muscle memory so I think that will remain but if bungie drops the ball on this it'll be some bs
@@JackieRoxs the traveler can’t give out the light to new Risen as it’s gone now confirmed by Zavala and ghost so unless we put the traveler back to normal in the final shape Amanda Will definitely meet the requirements to become a guardian just gotta get a ghost first
I honestly expected this, with her talking about how much she wished she could be on the frontlines with us Guardians, envy not by our power but by being able to fight without needing a ship, she's probably gonna become a guardian later this season or year.

I think it might've been premeditated to do it like that, Amanda isn't a guardian, she is frail in comparison to our lightbearers. Seeing her go in an act of self sacrifice for a couple of random people is quite important. Since guardians are basically immortal most of our help to humanity is just another day in the office for the guardian, nothing special.

Dying while saving a couple of hostages might seem anticlimactic to us, but that's because we have the light. We never have to stake our life.

Given crow knows that were the ones who killed uldren, that “i know you want it too, vengeance” line hits a bit different to me
The Cayde name drop at the beginning of the mission made me dread going through it.

I know Crow at this point in the story realizes what he has done as Uldren Sov, but i think this is his first time understanding *FULLY* why the guardian killed him, which makes Amanda's death hurt Even more.
This one cutscene has more substance and character depth than the entire Lightfall campaign
Fr, also im starting to see more connections to forsaken as time goes by, and now after Amanda’s death it feels like a cayde situation for crow, wanting vengeance on the killers of who he loved dearly. Very ironic how he now wants vengeance on killers

Damn, didn’t expect that. They really killed her of like that. Kinda of a letdown honestly, but i had a feeling she was gonna die. Just not in that way, coulda gone out better, but i wouldn’t know how. Just to me her death didn’t feel impactful to me. Yet she still memorable to me from Vanilla D1, fixed my first ship. But killing her still, a waste. If she does come back as a gaurdian thatd be interesting

I wonder if we'll have a final mission where Amanda comes back as a Guardian. It'd be interesting to see what they try and do with her character from then on though, I think it wouldn't be too soon if she appeared just with no memory of anything or connections to us until later seasons.
I partly don't want her to come back tbh let her die in peace and it would give more aura of an evil traveler

If you watch the Zavala’s story trailer, the part where they watch the Jumpship flying, amanda holliday is there but she’s a little girl. Zavala knew her for her entire life. Makes it even worse.!

When I saw the trailer, and Zavala saying "Sacrifice" as the camera was focused on him I knew someone was going to die. I was 100% sure it was going to be Zavala. Now with Lance's death this hits even harder.
This weeks seasonal content carries more weight than the entirety of Lightfall. Given how good season of the Seraph was, its starting to feel like two separate narrative teams
we all knew it was coming...never made it any easier...
*My guardian clutches to her lifelessbody in its sheet, weeping in silent hiccuping sobs. NEVER had we hurt this badly. Even Caydes death didnt break us down this badly.
She was there right from the very start of it all for us as guardians, and she had always been so bright, not to mention just how beautiful she always was, even coated in oil stains from hours of work. She taught us how to truely fly and escape bad scraps. She regaled tales of outer city defense tales she took part in. We shared drinks, we laughed, we danced, we cried and mourned, we fought at times, and we even hooked up once. Those particular passionare memories now stung like ice worse than any stasis ever used on us.
Amanda Holliday...was dead. Gave her life to get our people out safe...Zavalas mantra rang in our ears, we barely acknowlaged he was even there until now, hearing his voice as broken as ours*

I just... Don't feel like this was done right at all. At all. Granted, we saw this coming from miles away with how Crow incessantly worried about her out of the blue, all the "we have only one life" comments that were made, the hyperfixation and cutscenes we had with Amanda this whole season... All the signs were there, Amanda's death is no surprise, but the scene where it happens is SO BAD, like... Come on.
Shouldn't an ace mechanic be able to rip into that console without shooting it just to hold some wires together?
The room she was in seemed totally fine for the whole cutscene and we caused little to no collateral during the mission, why did it blow up?
Wouldn't it make more sense if there weren't only like, five people imprisoned there with no significance whatsoever?
Why in the hell was Eramis there again? Is she good or bad, can we stop being coy and pretending she's some sort of middle-ground after communing with the Witness?
Amanda had a HUGE part in the Guardian's life as far back as our rebirth, shouldn't we have had SOME kind of interaction there, even from Ghost?
How is Mara all broken up about this otherwise stranger's death when she used to be a cold, calculating, respectable BITCH beforehand?
Crow talking about revenge and even quoting some of the lines from Forsaken was damn near disrespectfully on the nose, why this hypocrisy?
This mission would have made significantly more sense if there was a high priority prisoner they were keeping there, or a large mass of useful civilian forces like medics and the like. The fact that Mithrax and Amanda called for backup and Devrim's fears of resistance being extremely dense should have been a sign that there was something significant happening there, but there really wasn't. There was just a concentration of enemy forces for literally no reason, even a tormentor being thrown in there, and even with that there was a complete lack of urgency for the Great Voiceless Sledgehammer to go in and kill everything while the NPCs had conversations over our comms the whole time. (A friend brought up a good point: How was Devrim an experienced paratrooper in a time of peace? A contemplation for another time.) We rushed in through the ascendent plane, which was kind of cool all things considered, and killed the stuff as per usual when really we could have done something to compromise the area for that explosion in the end to make sense. Maybe the Shadow Legion used a high-priority prisoner as bait to try and blow us up, and there was a countdown to some kind of detonation? Maybe we disrupted something in a critical system somewhere and caused something to backfire horribly into some kind of power feedback? Maybe Amanda could have USED HER MECHANIC EXPERIENCE and actually worked with the machinery to help with the jailbreak, only to slip up on the cabal tech at the last minute and cause a backfire? And just... Eramis didn't need to be there for a completely unnecessary "I told you so" moment. I don't know why she was there at all other than for Bungie to play the whole "maybe she's good, maybe she's evil" crap some more after she's tried to end us all TWICE. We could have completely gone without her contribution, all plot considered. Us walking out of the cave "unharmed" was fine because honestly, we saw Cayde check his face and immediately going back into showoff mode as soon as he was rezzed after crashing in the Prison of Elders. I'd expect neither us nor our Ghost would shake after that, but... But godDAMN, am I getting tired of being the voiceless muscle to every NPC's story interaction. Sure, we get the whole "call the Guardian, they're the only one who can do it!" sort of comment at the beginning, but other than that we've been just... Consistently fucking ignored for the entire plot. The player character simply doesn't matter anymore, we're just the fuel for everyone else's stories about struggle and fitting in now. Crow even MEME'D us with the aesthetic quoting of Forsaken, which frankly pissed me off because he's been nothing but a whiny bitch for the last few seasons and Bungie has RUINED Mara with this sudden shift from the Queen In Control we all knew and loved to the clingy, emotional mess she is now. The characters' personalities have been twisted into extremes or token stereotypes, Amanda's death was an absolute injustice to a character we practically grew up with as a guardian, and we've simply turned into the accelerant to all these filler stories that play out like projects animated for finals set to a poorly written fanfiction... Hell, I've READ better fanfiction, and it at least had something to do with the Guardian. Anymore it's just another season of "run around and kill stuff in silence while I force-feed you everyone else's stories over your comms," like...
What in the actual fuck has happened to our game, guys? It's been almost nine years since some of us were rezzed and it's like the storytelling has all completely gone to SHIT in the last four, what the ACTUAL FUCK happened??

They set her whole story up for that, and ever since the Speaker said those words to Ghaul i was like "dude they are going to make Amanda a lightbearer. Like her story is literally that." If they don't I'm gonna be mad, we already know how to restore memories, so technically would could get her back. Imagine getting her back and Cayde. They would start some extreme Sparrow\ship racing. She would probably have a LOT of fun tinkering and developing new technology without having to worry about being killed by it going haywire.

Okay everybody. Here’s the game plan. First, we’re gonna honour Amanda and Lance/Zavala. Then we’re gonna find a way to enter that portal. Then we will save the universe.
