Hello from Australia. I love your videos. You are doing so well. You are a great worker, making the most of what you have. So many here get so much for nothing, and do not appreciate it. Thanks for the inspiration.

I have been looking for work too! However I am 66 years old and retired. No one seems to want to hire me! So happy you found a job! I would be happy with minimum wage! How do people do it? Hubby and I are retired, but hubby still works. We have not purchased beef for over 4 years! Our prices are even more here in Canada! We don't own a home, we rent.... it is hard times for everyone and everytime I go to the grocery store the prices are up!

Beef is ridiculously priced. The beef ranchers here aren't making the money. Not sure who is. Keep trying with the job search. It took me 1.5 years before I found something. Took alot of worries off of me that I will be able to pay my taxes and get propane in the tank for this winter. Thanks for subscribing, Vivian Ann

There is a low income tax credit for seniors in Tennesse. Talk to your assessors office :) Every bit helps!

It aggravates me people saying I would not work for that. Obviously they have never wondered where their next meal was coming from. I know I never took for granted any pay for work I did. At one point in my life hubby and I didn't know how we were going to feed our kids much less ourselves. Thank God we had some ammo. We went out and killed 3 squirrels and fixed a squirrel stew. We had a tub of oat meal and a bit of flour so i made bread so we could have toast with our oat meal. I had bacon grease from the bacon and made biscuits and gravy. At that point that gave us enough food for about a week. We still had 3 weeks to go until hubby got paid. One of my neighbors called and wanted me to help her clean out her pantry. We loaded all the out of date food in my truck she wanted it hauled off. I hauled it off ok to my house we ate like kings for the rest of that month. From that day on I was more of a prepper then started homesteading.

Honeysuckle is home and a happy cow. She has been reunited with her family. Happy to hear about your job, that is awesome. Many people will say they won't work for certain wages, any wages is better than none, in my book. Cost of food, it is rough, we do the best we can. We do not always have meat on the table. Told my husband some how, some way we are going to do our best to put a deer in our freezer this year. Liked, commented and shared.

1918, lol! I think many of us feel like we were born in the wrong century. I'm praying you get the job -- I'm proud to say I've done my share of minimum wage work to help feed my family. That you'll be doing the kind of work you love only sweetens the pot. That's a lovely jar of taters! If I could produce something like that, I would call myself a canner. Blessings to you, Ambria, and the herd.

All work is honorable, you are blessed to have found a job you will enjoy. I don't have any livestock animals, just fruit trees and gardens. That helps offset grocery costs. We also buy meat in bulk that helps too. But a steak or a beef roast is a rare thing here around here. We kind of started out as preppers, but soon realized you can only store so much, and no matter what someday it's going to run out. So homesteading seemed like the logical progression of our journey. So at some point we will have animals. Thanks for your video and insight.

I keep my lids on super loose. The reason is mice. If a lid works loose, I don't want mice finding it and knocking it all the way off and getting in the jar.

My prayers are going out for that job to come through.. The price of fuel went up because of the hurricanes, which will raise the cost of shipping all this produce thousands of miles, which in turn will raise the cost in the stores. And we all know when the prices go up, they never come back down as far as they went up.. I got to know the guy that runs the meat department in my local grocery store and will have meat that he has pulled off the shelf and put in his freezer. Once in a blue moon, if I catch him on a certain day, he will give me a box of beef (approximately 20 lbs) for $29.. There's nothing wrong with the meat other than it has gone past it's prime selling date. Other than that, I only have chicken or pork to have for meat.

I feel the same way about taxes....I own my place in the country but my taxes are about $4000.00 a year. Not pretty. That'll be about a quarter of my annual Social Security check later--if tax rates don't rise over time. Ha! You know they will! I'm gonna stop so I can listen to your video. Glad to find you.

How do we do it? We watch the sales. You have to be patient sometimes then stock up when something is on sale. I just bought 22 pounds of butter for $1.49 off regular price ($2.50 per pound). I store it in the freezer and it usually last until the next sale. My local store usually has a sale on butter every 3 to 4 months. That is just my latest, I usually find something every other week to stock up on. Loved the video, keep them coming.

Agree on the prices of food. I think most people in town are living lives of "quiet desperation." Seriously. Lots of credit card debt. Lots of robbing Peter to pay Paul.
