you made that looks easy,'m going to install the later model 38 gallon tank into my 14 tundra ,after watching this it should be no problem.the only part I don't have is the fuel pressure gauge you were using
For anyone else reading through these comments just pull the fuel pump fuse.. crank truck and let it run until it stops. Put fuse back and disconnect neg. battery cable. This is how you release the fuel pressure in the lines.
Looking down at the top of the pump with the wide end in the connector at 6 o'clock and the supply and return fittings at 10 o'clock. The electrical terminal is: top left: pump positive, top right: pump negative.
Where did technology take us forward? In the '60s and '70s it was a two bolt affair on the side of the engine where one guy could R&R the fuel pump in 15 minutes. No need to mess with the tank or wiring.
@@counterpoint6718 High pressure electric pumps do best in a cooled environment, hence located in the gas tank. How nice it would be if the pump was accessible from inside the car! Once again, cars are designed to be assembled, not worked on.
@@AirtexFuelPumps Right...I've seen some vehicles that have access to the fuel pump through a hatch located under the rear seat. Now that would be preferable to what vehicles like my 2002 Tundra have to go through; removing the tank for access is plain stupidity on the design level, IMHO.
LOL on my '73 MGP the fuel pump was behind the rear passenger side tire. 10 minutes and I was up and running. Had a couple go out in 7 years. I finally always kept a new on in the trunk. Found out later the pump was designed to last longer installed horizontally. Vertical was the only option! Had a '98 Lumina, tried to change one in my garage. Uh, NO, not today, Bunky! :-)

I have a 2013 Sequoia. Need to replace center console lid. Any ideas how to get off? Thx!
good video,
what will l need to look out for to know that my fuel pump need replacing?
Your tundra will stall on hot days.
👍 Thank you
Is it the same procedure for a 2010 Sequoia AWD?
It will be very similar. The trucks share platforms, same pumps.
Is there a standard shop/ labor time to change out the pump with a new one? 2005 Tacoma
I'm debating whether to DIY or have a mechanic do it.
Well-done

Welcome to zero emissions (almost), 30-40 mpg and more horse power from engines a fraction of the size of those running around in the 60's and 70's.

But it’s great for assembly.
