I love Tesseract and I love Jay, he is so creative when it comes to drum parts. I had a lesson with him once and it opened my eyes. All I can say is you are so proficient, you are one of the only players that could replicate Jay. Being able to watch the movements has helped me so much over the years. In my eyes you've become the best youtube drummer. Your are truly gifted. Thank you so much (god that was so kiss arse, gonna go punch a couple of walls to restore masculinity)
How fucking amazing is Jay Postones everybody?! A round of applause for the man. As for Troy, does anyone really have to say anything? Perfection personified, as always! Dystopia is easily my favorite song to play from Polaris, but overall, my favorite is definitely Cages. The way that song builds gives me chills every time I listen to it.
+allcartuner Jay is a terribly underrated drummer in my opinion. Groove, indipendence, chops, dynamics and musicality, which to me are the most important qualities of a drummer. And he's got all of them!
+Mirko Fustinoni Yes. But if we want to hear what he writes himself, then you have to listen to Heights. I think Jay's amazing but it's clear that on lots of the recordings isn't actually him playing, it's programmed. Tesseract is Acle Kahney and friends, perhaps the reason why he is "underrated"?
Go to a gig Listen to what he plays, then come back and post. There are whole songs which they never play live due to the complexities of the programmed drums (mostly from Altered State). Listen to Singularity live: Tell me why they don't play the signature riff? Tell me why they don't play the coda of Nocturne? Also go and buy superior drummer and see how that sounds. Basically Acle writes the tunes (including the drums) and the rest of the band plays them. You can tell by the production, live performances and dynamics. No-one would ever admit to this would they? But anyone with a keen ear can tell
+Mike Chapel True, but even the popular tunes he has covered, I actually love to hear the intricate parts he plays over them.. For example his Up Town Funk cover, he does a great job.. You know what I mean ?
Grooving with ghosts and maintaining a complex rhythm with a cracking snare and a thrash stack This guy brought a new understanding for the way you should play drums.
This may be 4 years ago but the mix is INCREDIBLE. Listening in my car with a pioneer system backing it and it sounds amazing. Hats off to the sound engineer.
A million times, YES! i was hoping we'd get a new TesseracT cover out of yourself or Luke Holland (think he just got off tour though). amazing job once again, Troy!
Great video as always. You're my favorite drummer on UA-cam. You've got such an awesome style and taste behind the kit. Not to mention, you're a powerhouse! Keep it up. Cheers.
at least 1000 of the reproductions are mine. I love tesseract and you are an awesome drummer Troy. Thanks for the inspiration, greetings from argentina. Awesome drummer
These are the best drum covers on UA-cam! Mind blowing... Much respect Troy! I was wondering if you could make a cover of The Dope Beat from Letlive :) That would be awesome :) Cheers and keep up the great work!
I'm totally obsessed with your videos! could you please make a video how you break down songs in generally? I mean , how do you identify the time signatures when your transcribing the songs? great video anyway! :D
Hell yeah! You did an awesome job on this masterpiece of music! I was hoping you would do the whole song after your transcript of that groovy part and here it is! :)
I'm not the greatest drummer, but I NAIL 3:52 - 4:14 literally every time.
Damn thats impressive, dude
+Kevin Oliver damn, nice .. i just fail every time at 4:10
+Kevin Oliver Comments like these are so unbelievably funny!!!!!
Bout the only time you damn drummers will be quiet.
I NEED TO FUCKING TUNE
every... damn... time
Kevin Oliver that’s because it’s the only part of the song with 4/4 time signature . The rest is 6/8
how refreshing that we can actually hear almost any ghost note on Troy's vids!
Please give this guy a small loan of a million dollars
Exactly, this is where the money belongs..
+Jeppe Christiansen "My father gave me a small loan of a million dollars"
+samuel desbiens I get this trump
here in my garage

Paul Heavey he aint gifted. He plays like he does because he practices like nobody does. He is a self made beast.
Totally agree man. I am now on Jay's mentorship program. Eyes opener. I love his grooves.. and if Troy covered, it's because it's frikin awesome.
One of the best on UA-cam. Crazy underrated. Keep it up, man!!
+Richard Stewart NEVER!! MOST PEOPLE JUST KNOW TROY IS THE SHIT! I AGREE

Because he's not covering pop songs.
+Mike Chapel and thank fuck he isn't!
+Mike Chapel True, but even the popular tunes he has covered, I actually love to hear the intricate parts he plays over them.. For example his Up Town Funk cover, he does a great job.. You know what I mean ?
How on earth could someone dislike this video? It's just perfect, flawless, with no dislikable elements.
Grooving with ghosts and maintaining a complex rhythm with a cracking snare and a thrash stack

Daniel Rebellato That's awesome, good for him!
