      @@LABEAST That's crazy how you walk so fast. When I was on a health trip over the summer I had a set route of 22 miles from my city to a town on the outskirts (11 miles there, 11 miles back), I did that every day apart from 4 days when I had a twisted ankle and covered just over 600 miles in a month. It took me eight and a half hours to do that route (with an hour break at halfway) averaging just under 20 minutes a mile (not including the break), at what I would call a brisk pace. How do you manage 12.5 minute miles? I guess you are a lot taller than me (i'm 5'9"), but even if I powerwalk like a loon I can barely get under the 15min a mile mark! Any tips?

    I have a ton of admiration and respect for you. You’re not a clout chaser, nor are you a so-called “influencer”, you’re genuine. And I honestly think that you’d be still doing what you do without an audience. You’re who young people should be looking up to for inspiration and goal setting. Effing brilliantly done!

      I completely agree! The beast walks 50 miles, seals himself in with boxes of stink bombs, drinks a 40 year old beer, launches a rocket, and finally find cool stuff in his yard with a metal detector. Truly the most esoteric dude on the platform.

    Inspired by Beast a few years ago I decided to walk across the country (UK) in one go without sleeping. Walking across Hadrian's Roman wall in the North it can be done in over 24hrs of solid walking. I chose to do it in the summer solstice for maximum light as it's a country hike.
    44miles in, about halfway, I blacked out due to lactic acidosis apparently. I couldn't straighten my legs for three days. I didn't make it, but it was a great trip, and I'm pleased to say, it was my body that failed me rather than my mind. It's a good thing knowing I can push myself that far.
    I may try the route again one day.

    • @funkfreeze
      @funkfreeze 2 роки тому +24

      @@bryanx5430 Wow, how cool! What was your record for?
      Yeah, 44 miles, even though it was way, I kind of felt like I'd completed it somehow. Although obviously I didn't! I've never known anything like it afterwards. The tendons in my legs were so inflamed and swollen I could hear them squeak when I moved my ankles.
      I had a great time though. It was actually a real eye opener for how great my friends are too. I asked them if they fancied it and without any hesitation they were in! It was the highlight of my year.
      I did it because at the time I realised I stopped doing things that gave me a story to tell. I was born in 83. You have to be careful in your 30's that you don't leave adventure in your 20's. Approaching 40, I must remember this, especially after the pandemic.

I've done 30, 31, 32, missed 33, 34, and miss 35 due to moving. When you asked, "What did you do today," and then proceeded to say that we probably worked really hard and took care of our kids or something today, you both inspired me and made me feel good about myself. Thank you. This was wonderful. Great job.

LA Beast may be more beast than man 🤘 might have to take some of those tips of yours to make it an easier time day to day, that foot massager looks nice 👌

I found you when I was down the UA-cam rabbit hole one night and stumbled onto your getting drunk without drinking video and been hooked ever since. Seen all the videos and enjoyed every single one. You’ve given me a lot of motivation since I’ve started watching your vids. I’m almost 2 months sober and walking has been a great outlet for me whenever I get the urge to drink.
