For such a short practice, this sure packed an emotional punch. As I imagined lovingkindness spreading to all beings, I couldn't help but also feel waves of sadness for those currently experiencing hardship. I let that sadness be, and gently flow through me.
This is quite normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Yoga & Meditation can often be referred to as a cleansing technique where spontaneously the "subtle bodies" (emotional body, mental body, etc) can experience a cleansing where emotions might flow through and out of the body. Often people will experience a "lightness" or "liberation" type of feeling some time after the emotions pass through and out... it's best not to suppress emotions that come up during meditation but let them flow and move and be released. It can be difficult for people at first but it's a wonderful way to release some of the emotional baggage we may have been carrying around for days, weeks, years or even decades in some cases. I hope this makes sense and is helpful!

And over the years I’ve occasionally felt that type of love for complete strangers as well as whole swathes of people as an unbidden wave of love. It’s waned over the past couple of years for sure, but it’s good to know that there’s something still there within me. And even better to know that it’s something I might purposely cultivate. I enjoy all of your backgrounds, especially the nature ones and I loved the snow one. I love the idea of a "gift" to others; something that is not tangible and it's something others can enjoy at any time or place in their lives. I did this around 6 pm at night shortly before dinner. Your soft sweet words were like a shower of grace upon me. I needed this today, thank you❤
Namaste, teardrops slowly rolled down my cheek as I practiced this meditation for the first time today. Right now, I feel a sense of relief and I want to learn more about Metta Meditation. I am surprised by my reaction, in a positive way!
