2nd Alarm: Fire in the attic of duplex - 316 Williams Street, Slatington, PA.

- Lehigh County 911 received a report of smoke coming from the attic of 316 Williams Street. The adjoining home at 314 was the caller. At 5:18AM, the box was transmitted for the house fire sending Engines 24, 29, 9, 6, Norco 47, Quint 24 & 29, Rescue 11 (F.A.S.T.) and Medic 67.
Police unit 606 arrived and reported a working fire. Assistant Chief 24 struck the second alarm.
Crews stretched two hand lines into 316 while Ladder 24 vented the roof. The fire eventually burned through the roof as the interior crews were getting a hit on the attic.
I believe no one was home at the time of this fire. A second alarm destroyed a home just a few blocks to the east on Tuesday.

Only took 3+ minutes to figure out water puts out fire. Was anyone operating inside??
I take that as a no. Put a small portable on the roof to get better access to dormer.
No roof work! Vent the windows and get inside.

Feel bad for people that are on vacation and there house is burnt down and still vacation and now we have this. What even happened?😢
It never ends. While you are going inside, blast that area with water. The water will get inside the wall and greatly slow expansion. You didn't so this is what you got for doing nothing. Then comes the ignorance of Vertical Venting. If those windows had been broken out from the beginnj9ing, you would have had access to the interior burning material. All you guys did is make the fire burn better.
You have no idea how easy this would have been had you vented all the top floor windows while making a push up the stairs with a cone of water pushing the heat and smoke out those windows. And stay off the damn roof!
