I also love the Mk1 Polo, I owned 5 in succession from 1976 until 1982, even having one in Mandarin Orange like the one you featured.

    Lovely commentary Jim. 😊
Sad to see that so many people feel the need for slammed suspensions (lowered). In my opinion anyway. I’d rather just see the original specs, like the “breadvan” Polo. Peak VW there! 🥰
Your videos are great - with or without Siôn (even if we love him too)! 😉 👍

Lovely to see such a clean Mk1 Polo… interesting to think it started life as the Audi 50….

I love a yellow car. I bought a brand new MK 2 Polo bread van way back when for my then partner, it was red with red wheel trims and can you believe 6 months after I took delivery it was stolen never to be seen again. I still cannot understand why someone would want to steel it.

The Mk. I Polo has its roots at NSU, so of course it's really nice.

Yes, before the wars in the '90s that tore Yugoslavia to pieces. VW began building Beetles in Sarajevo in 1972, then continued with the Golf I, Caddy, Jetta I, Golf 2, and Jetta 2 until 1992. Following the end of hostilities assembly of some VW and Škoda models began in 1998 and lasted until 2008.

I had wondered where all the slammed / air ride suspension and stretch tyre cars had gone to! A shame really, because some of those restorations otherwise look really good. Nothing that can't be undone later though.
