Yeah I think the original one is called the planet Manny time peace Winder,,,, But that thing if I'm not mistaken caused $700,,, So yeah this is a pretty good deal cause it almost looks identical to it was looks like dental to it plus I don't think the design is that intricate that you might get cheaper parts... For a 130 bucks is absolutely a deal
part of the collection is setting each piece when you decide to give it some wrist time, with a collection of like 60 watches i dont mind setting them especially the daydate month moon phase. its enjoying to pull up the atomic clock and get to it even if im only wearing it for 3 or 4 days all winders just collect dust,they look cool but thats it
Had a few watch winders 12 to 15 years back. They all stopped working with in a few months. Are they any better to day; wanted to try one again. Thanks.
I have been a mechanical watch collector for over thirty years. My husband is in the watch making business and I took up the hobby. My collection currently stands at sixty three. Ranging from retro to present day. At no point have I come even remotely close in justifying the purchase and investment of a watch winder. Their mere existence defies all logic. In practical terms they are what a bicycle is to a fish.
I understand pretty much about not needing a winder. That said, I wear my watch almost everyday, but it’s for about six hours, come morning it has stopped and needs winding and sometimes I have to reset the date. I can’t believe it still runs, but my constant setting time and date at times surely wearing the shaft to set time and date. PS. I have way to many mechanical watches.
