15:5017:24 Main take from this presentation. If you had hope of buying a great random standard Martin it’s over. It’s basically a Chinese standard guitar with a Martin logo.
I’m so glad you’re there at NAMM and always appreciate the work you and the team do. The Martin presentation as a flaming disaster but it was very entertaining watching the corporate types melting down with the technical difficulties. Keep up the great job TAS!
For what it's worth I think ye are the first up with the Martin presentation.. Great job guys - What was your favourite .. I'm edging towards the 5oth anniv. Made in Mexico 🇲🇽 model T 🎸 🇮🇪
Love Martin....and I have a number of them, however, I'm not a fan of the painted guitar with the skull and butterfly wings. Sorry. Will they have a soundproof room for you test guitars in? I’d love to hear you play the maple one somewhere where there is quality sound equipment.
Sad that we're going to be seeing/hearing "AI" more & more on our Projects...SUCKS! but the Computer changed this Industry ..again we're 2024 :) George Amodei
I absolutely love Martin, but can’t understand what they are up to with this stuff. “We have solar panels on our warehouse, and a carbon neutral guitar, now everybody clap” Nobody cares. Are those ugly things even selling? Why the new gimmick laden domestic wood guitar with a 4k price tag? I’m supposed to look at that vs. a yammy fg9 and say yes. This. There’s got to be a better/cheaper way to get a Martin sound out of walnut and maple. This is a marketing strategy issue for them. It’s like they have an identity crisis.
I have to agree. I love my Martins. I have a couple, one authentic and a modern deluxe. I’m really disappointed in Martin for trying to market that guitar with domestic wood and an ugly satin finish for a $4k price tag. I could understand trying to bring in a line for an economy option, but it’s not worth that price tag.
@@dondeese7167 I have a d18 custom shop I was lucky enough to get a good price on used, but would have been about 4k$ new. I would be shocked if this new maple/walnut thing could come close. It’s an amazing guitar. What’s your authentic?
Did not enjoy the noise and panick mode, the sound was terrible, did not have the guitar mic was off for the first half of the show. The guitars were very well done, but the acoustics were terrible sounding, for the price you pay for those Martin's, they should be able to walk the dog too! Thanks for the video guys!
@@rogerd9150 yes. I get that it's just on the floor at namm and may be played out, but I'm confused at this guitar. By nature, each piece of wood is different. On a fine guitar, the craftsmen and women take away wood from the bracing in a skillful way to get the top to vibrate in a certain way. Breedlove is using computers to measure the qualities of the wood to voice the top in specific way. But on this guitar, the holes are uniform removal of wood. So, they aren't going to be able to predict what the guitars sound like. We're talking about a visual shape here--a hexagon hole--but you listen to guitars with your ears. Martin as a company is built on sound, not looks. I think this will be a swing and a miss, but I haven't played one. Why not just build a Walnut or maple guitar with a three-piece back and wood binding, make it beautiful, and go from there. If you don't like how maple sounds with Martin bracing, figure out a bracing pattern that works. There are other builders who make fine maple guitars
@@mandohat Right! I don’t get this one either. Gibson, Boucher, Collings, to name a few already have produced amazing sounding maple guitars. I hate to say it because I have always loved the Martin sound and (I have a few Martins myself) but this just seems like a sales gimmick.
Martin looks like they are going into the lawnmower business with that grass background...hey that may be a better idea than some they have come up with lately for guitars...stop trying to be woke Martin and just make us a basic all wood AFFORDABLE guitar...

It’s hilarious the demo for Martin’s brand new acoustic guitar was ran through an effects board the entire time.

Utah. It’s encouraging to see manufacturing in Mexico. This audio made it impossible to hear how anything sounded. I’d love to have been there.
Very cool! There are a couple of very special guitars coming up...

Trying to get a rover I’m building to find a soccer ball in a live stream and to have it move to the ball and kick it. I’m not blowing steam either.
I just don't see the market for a $4000 gigging guitar (Inception), that would be an X series. it could be it sounds better
In person.
When are you shooting another series of American Pickers???
Should of had John Chapman demonstrate the guitars. Probably the best picker in the building!!!
Did he say “BONG”’hit! That’s right it’s Cali.

AI???? I'm thinking seriously about trading a 70th anniversary stratocaster for a D18 without a pickup
I wish I could be a $27,000 guitar buyer...but I'm stuck at $2,700. Sigh

I don’t think I’ve heard a less engaging speaker than Mr Martin.

John, that's one of the worst guitars I've ever heard.
Which one? The new maple (domestic woods) one?
