I used body suits as a bottom/first layer instead of standard singlets, I couldn’t stand seeing the singlets rolled up when I would change my daughter lol. I liked that they kept the nappy snug too.
The bottom zipper is a life saver!! I loved button ones more than i thought i would. I think it was because i could open just at bottom, like the bottom zip.
I haven’t been keeping up for the past couple years but I’ve been watching since you used to make drunk vlogs and GRWM videos before you and Hamish even dated! I love seeing how your relationship has blossomed, and how much you’ve grown yet stayed the same. You’re so authentic and that’s one of the reasons I’ve gravitated towards you. Any who it’s so exciting to see you guys are expecting. Wishing you nothing but the best always! Love from New York, the Bronx to be exact 💜💜❣️
Use a merino long sleeve bodysuit under everything against his skin during winter , palmy is super cold overnight so 3 layers was the norm for us , merino bodysuit then normal bodysuit then onesie and a WOOLEN hat , no synthetic wool it doesn’t keep them warm the same x
Also trademe had beautiful soft knitware new and soft by many talented nz knitters. I adore babies in classic knitted cardigans and wrapped on shawls. On and the booties cuttteeeee. I have a boy and I still dolled him up in matinee sets which consist of booties, jacket and bonnet.
I love seeing all the little clothes....so adorable. You will figure it out with dressing a baby - I always found it helpful to remember they are just like us but little....dress them for the season. It is always helpful to have extra blankets and such to keep them warm. Don't stress over it - you and Hamish have this and will be great parents. You will figure it out as you go!
Hey Shan just an fyi... but baby factory clothes tend to run a little smaller and dont last as long such as mobi minors.. at farmers the little bundle brand & mily milo runs small, teeny weeny is ok but will still not last as long as bonds. Wonderbabies nz or NZ sale has great bonds sales for onezies. Amazon has great things from Carters and anything else you can think of especially baby sleep gowns that are cheaper and come in 3 packs. Wubbanubs are a really cool item too, pacifier with toy attached. Am currently 30wks with my 3rd.
KEEP THE TAGS ON YOUR BABY CLOTHES, and all reciepts! It was so helpful for me when my son was really little, like under 4 months. Its hard to guess what they're going to wear or not wear. I ended up returning some clothes and getting other things that I needed.
My daughter hated being swaddled. From day one she slept with her arms above her head and still does at 9years old 💕 your looking amazing Shannon, hope you are keeping well 💙 xo
You’ll get the hang of things pretty quickly. With clothing it’s normally 1 more layer to what you’re wearing. They way I’ve dressed my 3 is comfortable, if I would feel uncomfortable wearing something I wouldn’t put it on them. If you’re cold put something similar to what you have on, same with when it’s hot. You got this mumma 💖
I always have dogs and what I did when I have my kids, while I was in the clinic, I send my husband home with the baby used clothes so they get use to the scent. So when we get home they already were familiar with the baby's scent and was very easy.
I just couldn’t be more excited for you and Hamish! I have literally watched you grow up on UA-cam and am so proud of you for everything you’ve achieved and become - but most of all because you are so real! Love you guys and will always keep you on my prayers ❤️
I was like you with the layering! (Also winter baby) had no idea! One day my midwife came over to see how we were going and she was like ok please put more clothes on him… 😂 woollen singlets were my lifesaver for winter ❤️ my grandma and nana knitted me so many! Very lucky ❤️
Cute cute cute. ^.^ although you may be surprised how much stuff you have brought that you do not need. Keep it simple xo :) one thing I do recommend is a baby bath bed that sticks to the bottom of the bath. Stops them sliding and you dont have to to hold them and try to wash them
In winter you can do singlet, socks, hat, onesie then swaddle. For reference I'm in the same region as you and that's how I've dressed my other 2 babies. On my 3rd baby now 😊
Baby Caterpillar have lovely merino baby clothes. My boy lived in the wee nightgowns in the cooler months. They have a drawstring bottom which makes bum changes super easy and keeps their little feet warm.
im soooo glad your pup is doing well after his surgery!!! my older dog ( will be 15 in may) is recovering currently from a surgery he had on tues. hes been scary all week till this morning hes finally acting more like himself!! :)
Hey Shannon! Fellow palmy peep here and a mum of two. Congratulations on your lil man! Generally rule of thumb for dressing baby is one extra layer than you. So if your wearing two layers baby would wear three etc. Hope this helps!xx
My son is 9 months old now but he loved the SwaddleMe swaddles! Definitely his favorite before we transitioned him to no swaddling. You can definitely put a little sleep suit under it ☺️
My daughter was a winter baby they are supposed to wear one more layer than you are wearing. So id put cotton short sleeve body suit then long sleeve merino suit then a zip suit on top and depending where we were she would have a cardi
I believe in one of your other videos you mentioned he was already measuring on the larger side…my first was almost 10 pounds at birth and never fit into newborn size. Didn’t even fit in the outfit we got for him to come he in the hospital in. We had purchased so many newborn size and he only fit into 0-3 months. Just a little tip 😉 lol also, maybe it was just my two sons but because they were longer at birth the pants with the feet never fit right for them. So happy for you. Loving the baby hauls!!!
Farmers do the BEST merino and often do buy 1 get 1 free or buy 1 get 1 50% off. Love to Dream do amazing swaddles they have summer and winter ones, but quite often you switch between them during any season. You can put them in 1-3 layers of clothing depending on how hot or cold.
Listen, as a fellow mother you can NEVER have too many socks. I swear they disappear out of thin air. My daughter is almost 2 and swart I’ve bought socks like 20 times since she was born!
Kathmandu has some great Merino 💙. The pandas are adorable. I always remember being told that in summer add one more layer than what you’d wear and in winter add 2 . Worked well for both of mine and they were born in Summer, Autumn
Hey Shannon, so happy for you congratulations 🎊 serious query though, I saw you had the Blonde Whittaker's chocolate on your story. Do you have a review on that one??? 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 best wishes, lots of love from Australia 🇦🇺
Domes are better for poonamis ;) otherwise you have to put their legs back in and unzip from the top to get them out, something I didn’t know until I learnt from experience! Haha
Idk if you get best and less in NZ but they have such cheap cute clothes. Also in regards to how much to wear my friend told e always 1 more layer than what your wearing and I never had an issue
Hey Shan...I just love lewie...was he a racer that you rescued? I would live to rescue line but the places to rescue them in my area still want thousands and thousands of dollars...it's maddening.
My mum is so naughty! She sent me a photo of the $60 one the other day she got for my bubba, I’ll be calling her this morning to tell her not to spend that much haha. We might be finding out what we are having today as well so I’m so so excited!! 💙💗
You don't need a branded swaddle and you don't need to try out different swaddles. What you need is an experienced midwife who can show you how to properly swaddle your baby with a decent wrap or blanket which you likely will already own. Learn this and you will never look back.
Not true, different babies like different things and different mums like different things and you don’t know what will suit until you actually use them
Hey Shannon, love you and have been a fan for years, but have you considered not buying from companies such as Shein due to the fact they're unethical and exploit their workers? Not sure if you are aware 😊 x
God damn Shan you’re fuckin hot you literally get more and more gorgeous each day. You really do well in taking care of yourself and health. You’re truly an inspiration. I have been here for basically your whole UA-cam career and I’ve loved every single video you have always been 100 💯💯❤️
Please be careful with your puffiness, obviously your midwife will be watching you carefully but it can mean something more serious. Talk to your midwife about Preeclampsia, being swollen and this puffy early in your pregnancy isn’t a good sign. I had it with my first I thought it was normal so never said anything so please be careful
Honestly you are not gonna need all them clothes. Also tip you should look at weights on clothes not months they are wayyyyyyyy off babies also don’t like being dressed so just a under shirt mostly or a onesie you think you will dress your baby up you won’t. When are you due may-June?
She's bought clothes in varying sizes from newborn - 12 months and beyond... so she will use them. And as for babies not liking being dressed and just having an undershirt and a onesie, that's just not true. People live in different climates - weather is a major factor. We live somewhere where you can experience four seasons in one day so baby can need up to three outfit changes a day. Same if you have a baby that's spewy, or having incidences. More clothes means you're also not washing the same clothes every second day and if she has more babies in the future she can reuse the clothes she has now that are gender neutral. Let her be excited as a first time Mum and don't tell someone what they do or don't need.
I used body suits as a bottom/first layer instead of standard singlets, I couldn’t stand seeing the singlets rolled up when I would change my daughter lol. I liked that they kept the nappy snug too.

You cutting stuff is just as satisfying as your declutter videos haha
Use a merino long sleeve bodysuit under everything against his skin during winter , palmy is super cold overnight so 3 layers was the norm for us , merino bodysuit then normal bodysuit then onesie and a WOOLEN hat , no synthetic wool it doesn’t keep them warm the same x
I am absolutely OBSESSED that you’re showing a more realistic price range side of baby clothing etc. So much more relatable! We love a bargain!
When did I miss the announcement that baby is a boy? Congrats!!!! Can't wait to see your sweet angel.

Gowns are really helpful.. my son wore gowns when he was a newborn and it helped with the late night changes ☺️
KEEP THE TAGS ON YOUR BABY CLOTHES, and all reciepts! It was so helpful for me when my son was really little, like under 4 months. Its hard to guess what they're going to wear or not wear. I ended up returning some clothes and getting other things that I needed.

Same here
Same! My daughter is 8 ❤

Makes me want another bubba whenever I see the baby clothes, they get me haha! Love the way you look Shannon, pregnancy totally suits you! X
I always have dogs and what I did when I have my kids, while I was in the clinic, I send my husband home with the baby used clothes so they get use to the scent.
So when we get home they already were familiar with the baby's scent and was very easy.
Naw😊 watching you at the sink but this time with your baby belly, is the cutest thing x
On wondersuits they come footless but you can gold the cuff around their feet
I just couldn’t be more excited for you and Hamish! I have literally watched you grow up on UA-cam and am so proud of you for everything you’ve achieved and become - but most of all because you are so real! Love you guys and will always keep you on my prayers ❤️
You should do a tutorial based on one of those fun colored earrings. Those are absolutely stunning!
So happy Zeus is doing so well! 💙
I’m so jealous of the amount of free stuff you get! Like you’ve done your hard yards to receive it all but damn 😍
Oh my goodness! Those clothes are the cutest! Especially the ones with the panda bears!! I love them!
I was like you with the layering! (Also winter baby) had no idea! One day my midwife came over to see how we were going and she was like ok please put more clothes on him… 😂 woollen singlets were my lifesaver for winter ❤️ my grandma and nana knitted me so many! Very lucky ❤️
The farmers outfits you got were cuuuuute!
I miss being pregnant 😩😩😩 My sons almost 10 months and I already want another one 💚💚💚💚 love your green dress! So pretty!
So stoked to see you on this baby journey! I’m pregnant too so love being able to watch all your baby hauls!!! 😍😍😍
Cute cute cute. ^.^ although you may be surprised how much stuff you have brought that you do not need. Keep it simple xo :) one thing I do recommend is a baby bath bed that sticks to the bottom of the bath. Stops them sliding and you dont have to to hold them and try to wash them
So much cute stuff!! My niece's favorite color is yellow too! 😁🥰
Yes best to have more socks 👏🏾 they come in handy as mittens too 🥰
In winter you can do singlet, socks, hat, onesie then swaddle.
It’s also 40% nursery and clothing for babies at farmers right now!
Zeus does own the planet!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
im soooo glad your pup is doing well after his surgery!!! my older dog ( will be 15 in may) is recovering currently from a surgery he had on tues. hes been scary all week till this morning hes finally acting more like himself!! :)
Ohh I love baby clothes! Cant wait to see what you got!! ❤️❤️
Hey Shannon! Fellow palmy peep here and a mum of two. Congratulations on your lil man! Generally rule of thumb for dressing baby is one extra layer than you. So if your wearing two layers baby would wear three etc. Hope this helps!xx
I cannot wait to see the finished house 😄🙌🏠
My son is 9 months old now but he loved the SwaddleMe swaddles! Definitely his favorite before we transitioned him to no swaddling. You can definitely put a little sleep suit under it ☺️
Can't wait to watch this! Absolutely love your vlogs and videos x
My daughter was a winter baby they are supposed to wear one more layer than you are wearing.

Holy smokes that's lots of clothes. We just had few pants, few shirts and pj's and it was plenty. Just washed often.
Do you have any pram recommendations? Also what did you decide for nappy bags? I am pregnant too and due in August! 😊
I love all those baby clothes! I have two girls but I have always wanted a boy and I would dress him like that. Too cute!!
Glowing mumma. You are going to be a beautiful mum ♥️

You look so great, I hope you’ve been feeling well! I just recently learned of my third pregnancy 🙏🏼❤️
Listen, as a fellow mother you can NEVER have too many socks. I swear they disappear out of thin air. My daughter is almost 2 and swart I’ve bought socks like 20 times since she was born!

My bubba loves to be swaddled and yep she used to wear wonder suits underneath ♥️
Farmers Merino! 100%! My boy was born in July and they were amazingggg 🥰 and they fit for ages too
Look on Brighterbabes or Jubee and Co they have the cutest baby clothes and New Zealand sites! Xx
Kathmandu has some great Merino 💙. The pandas are adorable. I always remember being told that in summer add one more layer than what you’d wear and in winter add 2 . Worked well for both of mine and they were born in Summer, Autumn

thank you! i LOOOVE it hahaha its like caramilk but creamier
Can’t wait to see your baby xx 😘
Not sure if it's the same for you guys, but in the UK they say to dress them in one more layer than what you're wearing! xx
Honestly newborns grow so fast, they don't need much clothes at all
Nice baby clothes 💙
Hey Shan, check out Postie Plus for Merino baby clothes, if you don't have one local check out online❤️
PLEASE BUY ERGOPOUCH ONSIES AND SLEEPING BAGS YOU WONT REGREST ..THEY GO BY TOG RATING FOR WARM AND COOLER...THEY LAST A LONG TIME TOO
Hey Shan...I just love lewie...was he a racer that you rescued? I would live to rescue line but the places to rescue them in my area still want thousands and thousands of dollars...it's maddening.
I'm pretty sure he was a young pup when she got him, it's in her really old videos x
My kids never even got to wear their newborn outfits.. sleepers a few times but went to 0-3 so quick
I hope Zeus will be ok 😔 I cant believe Zeus and Lewie are old, it seems like yesterday you got them
My son and partner have just found out their having a boy so now I can also go shopping now I know💙💙💙💙
Are you both building in Palmy or Tauranga?

You'll never have enough socks!!!! 😂
- boymom
Farmers have merino on sale!! I’ve brought so much one trip I spent $20 on over $150 worth of stuff!!
Is this in store ?! I’ve been checking online everyday
@@caitlinbrennan722 yeah go in store and have a look!
If you are comfortable in your outfit, just add an extra layer for bub
Pandas are my absolute favorite and I could barley find anything panda for boys when I was pregnant with my son
I miss being pregnant, I'm a mum of 6, my eldest is 16 and my youngest is 4 years old ❤️❤️
My mum is so naughty! She sent me a photo of the $60 one the other day she got for my bubba, I’ll be calling her this morning to tell her not to spend that much haha. We might be finding out what we are having today as well so I’m so so excited!! 💙💗
Grandmas are supposed to spoil them ♥️
❤️❤️

yeah both of my closest friends/family this didnt work haha they hated the swaddles - i'll just donate what baby doesnt like
Not true, different babies like different things and different mums like different things and you don’t know what will suit until you actually use them
How are you not onto jamie kay yet?!? 🤣🙈
I am!! hahaha i have heaps
Kmart, target, best and less is the best for babies trust meeee
Hey Shannon, love you and have been a fan for years, but have you considered not buying from companies such as Shein due to the fact they're unethical and exploit their workers? Not sure if you are aware 😊 x
I don't have kids. Is it normal to buy so many clothes before they are born? You don't know what size they will be 💛
You have enough baby clothes, I promise lol.
I feel like youre gonna name him Leo based on these clothes😅
God damn Shan you’re fuckin hot you literally get more and more gorgeous each day. You really do well in taking care of yourself and health. You’re truly an inspiration. I have been here for basically your whole UA-cam career and I’ve loved every single video you have always been 100 💯💯❤️
They outgrow the clothes so quickly so I wouldn’t recommend buying really expensive stuff.
Are you getting swollen hands too?😬
She Will Be Away Next Week.
Please be careful with your puffiness, obviously your midwife will be watching you carefully but it can mean something more serious. Talk to your midwife about Preeclampsia, being swollen and this puffy early in your pregnancy isn’t a good sign. When are you due may-June?
My son was and is dressed every day ! Loved putting him in outfits as a tiny one. 🥰 I think it’s just personal preference!
She's bought clothes in varying sizes from newborn - 12 months and beyond... so she will use them.
And as for babies not liking being dressed and just having an undershirt and a onesie, that's just not true.

She's a first time mum. It's something you have to learn on your own. Some mothers are actually bothered to dress them up. Priorities lol.
MissLola do the cutest tracksuits ❤️ Vlogs are giving me massive baby fever
Hi
