I have honestly never been more excited for someone else before. Listening to the two of you describe your dream home in detail and hearing the excitement in your voices with each little detail you notice is so freaking awesome. You have worked so hard and accomplished so much, you definitely deserve it. It must still feel so surreal though. Like obviously it's your house, but it probably won't feel real until you're fully moved in. You legit have a mansion now! How crazy. From your bedroom at your dad's to this incredible, custom home with your beautiful family! Okay, I'm making myself emotional now 🤣

Shannon, your house is really coming together beautifully!!! The only concern that I have is with your carpet. You can see creases in it. Has it been stretched already? If it has, it needs to be redone or those creases will get worse over time and your carpet will eventually get lumpy and shift.

Funny story my brother is stationed in palmy for the Nz Army and he sent me some photos of a view/nice river area and instantly noticed it’s the exact same as your view! I tried bison hide and different strengths of it on your recommendation! Lovely colour. We ended up going with Dulux royal beige half but I did my parents living room for them with half bison hide 😘👌🏼🫶🏻

It's insane to see how much bigger your forever home is compared to your house you live in now 😁
The kitchen and Master bedroom is surprisingly small for such a big house. Maybe the size is an illusion? I’m building my dream house now (well for now dream) Kids are teen and almost teen. I wanted a huge kitchen so all of us can be in there together and lots of bench space because I have so many appliances. Our bedroom is big enough to act as a retreat aswell, with a bath in my ensuite. And the kids rooms are far away from ours lol Their friends and sleepovers drive us crazy, I wanted them to have their own space, they each have an ensuite and I’m thinking when they’re adults they’ll probably still be at home (houses are so expensive) so it’s private enough for them too.
The only thing I missed was a dog bath. I recently watched The Block in Australia and they built dog baths in their laundries, it was such a good idea I wish I’d thought of it.
It’s a beautiful home though, I wish you all the best ❤
i think the kitchen is looking bigger now that the cabinetry etc is being put in place, its not HUGE but its good for us :) it has a loooottttt of bench space too. and loads of storage in the island and pantry and above the benches along the wall. same with master bedroom - not huge but still a v good size - we prioritised space in ensuite and walk in wardrobe - didnt need lots of empty space in our bedroom as it would just get filled with mess, i wanted it more minimal with just bed and side tables and tv space - clothes etc going in a diff room lol so it hopefully will stay tidier :) the beauty of individuality haha
@@shaaanxovlogs Ofcourse everyone’s needs are different xx I’ve found since the kids have grown up we live in our house differently and need different things. And it always changed at different stages. When they were younger we had 2 kids, 2 dogs and a cat on our bed every night! Now they fight over the bathroom so my daughters taken over my ensuite. When I was designing this house I was like nope, they’re getting their own ensuites. My kitchen is probably the size of yours, which I designed when they were babies and thought yeah it’s nice and big, but now it’s just not enough cause everyone is in here at once. Drives me crazy

Love the house!! Not a fan of plaster, it's one thing that de-values homes in NZ given the history but otherwise all looks great and the views are 😍👌👌
do you mean bc of weather and water damage? we have a cavity so its all done really well and we also used aerated concrete panel underneath for extra protection. its changed lots now
@@shaaanxovlogs yeah plastered homes immediately make most people think of leaky homes due to the history in the 90s etc and all needing to be re-cladded. But I don't doubt the plastering industry have upped their game in creating cavities to prevent that. Oh amazing! I work in the insurance industry so I'm extra picky with building materials haha

no way haha its too cold most of the time where we live - even in summer it would take a while for it to heat up, and its not something we would want to spend money on to build/heat/maintain. prefer a spa which we already own and will move to the new place :)
