    I purchased my oleander from a retailer. I moved (during growing season) it to a larger pot and used creek sand and it is doing wonderful in the creek sand. Big Blooms all over it.

    Hey, thank you for sharing this video. This plant is everywhere in Egypt 🇪🇬. I’ve noticed something in the video, you picked up the seeds in december 2022 and the progress took till November, we’re still in February 2023!
    Thank you again.

    Great video! Question. How did you make the peat pods? And when you transferred them to the red cups.....what kind of soil did you use or did you put the whole peat pod in the cup with soil?

    How can I speed up germination? I have the seeds in a covered tray trying g to promote germination - however my seeds are not covered completely. Is this necessary?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  4 місяці тому

      The seeds should get some moisture to germinate. If they stay dry, I don’t think they would germinate ever. At least spray some water on the seeds .

    isit fine for the lower leave to turn yellow and drop of during the early stage? And also do you need to prune off the top part of the young plant to make it grow side way?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  Рік тому +1

      Yes it’s perfectly fine for the older leaves to yellow and drop. Even if you don’t prune the top, it will still send side shoots from the base of the main stem.

    Despite the trouble and hard work with so many process and equipment, i notice the seedling are not growing too fast. 4th month and only still at seedling stage with few leaves. Only after 6 months more leaves appear. Did you make those rounded soil for seedling?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  Рік тому +2

      Yup you are right about slow growth. It’s mainly growing slow because I started seeds in January and these oleander needs hot and humid summers to grow fast. How much ever we try, we can’t provide what nature provides. When I tried this, I had least hope that these would germinate but to my surprise the seeds germinated and thus the whole process began. Anyways I am really happy with the results and I absolutely enjoyed the growing phase thoroughly.

      @@ncgardeningandcookingadventure can you really germinate seed with only coco peat alone are very effective compare to using normal soil for this?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  Рік тому +2

      Yes I think coco peat works better than soil in germinating tiny seeds like this. I have tried to germinate in soil before and not a single seed germinated.

    @gradeAbra Рік тому +1

    What type of pot mixing did you use in those red cup?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  Рік тому

      I used regular 50/50 mix from my local landscaping store ( 50% garden soil and 50% compost) . I mix some peat moss to it to loosen the soil and some garden lime to neutralise the ph .

    • @gradeAbra
      @gradeAbra Рік тому +1

      Is compost neccessary actually?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  Рік тому

      What I meant to say is when you buy soil from a local landscaping company, they have something called 50/50 mix which is a combination of 50 percent soil and 50 percent compost. You need not add compost if you don’t have it. Just pot up in whatever regular soil you have and give miracle Gro fertilizer mixed with water once a month for good growth.
