    How can I speed up germination? I have the seeds in a covered tray trying g to promote germination - however my seeds are not covered completely. Is this necessary?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure Місяць тому

      The seeds should get some moisture to germinate. If they stay dry, I don’t think they would germinate ever. At least spray some water on the seeds .

    Will be at 1500 piney plains rd with wife for dentist on June 18 for 1:00 appointment. Have fig trees if you want some. I am there about every 3 months Chicago Hardy Beers Black Olympian Brown Turkey Will trade for some of your lemon grass if you have some, but otherwise, will make good on promise of a couple of years ago. This year, I did not kill them😁. Are in 9 inch tree pots so won’t stand on their own. About 12-18 inches tall

      At some point down the road, If you would like cuttings off the 4 aforementioned varieties, I could bring you cuttings after January and you could start your own from scratch. I could also give you several tree pots so you could start your own. Today, I will bring the figs, but don’t suspect you have read message yet, but just in case' I will leave them outside car in a bag. Black EV, backed into spot and will leave them next to car

      Oh my Gosh! Every time I see your message just a little later. I should call it my fate 🥲 Dear Sir, I truly appreciate your efforts to reach out to me and offer me the figs but I am an idiot that’s always late to read your messages. This time I am not gonna miss it. Will you be there on September 18th too? If so I will set a reminder in my phone right away.

      @@ncgardeningandcookingadventure I believe our next appointment is Dec 19. I will be making another appointment for sometime in September. I brought 4 trees down and we gave them to the dentist who my wife has a good relationship with so they did not travel in vain. I have about 8 more plants, but they are looking a bit stressed staying in the tree pots so unless you would be coming near Wake Forest in the next 2 or 3 weeks, I was thinking I might put them in ground so they stay healthy. One option that might be interesting would be for me to give you multiple cuttings of the 4 varieties and you could have a series of trying to root fig cuttings of 4 different varieties and compare results. I have plenty of tree pots and could even give you soil for them if you don’t have it handy. I could also try and nurse the current ones along right now for potential September visit. I could even do both, but up to you. I would leave my email address, but I am very leery about leaving any personal stuff on Internet. If your UA-cam channel has an email address that you want to put out there, I could contact you that way, but that is u

    You can use incandescent bulbs around the tree at night when it gets below freezing. They will provide additional heat around the tree which should help with the frost damage issue.

      Depends on how hot your summers are. NC gets very hot in mid to upper 90’s pretty much every day in summer months and I have to water the plant every day to keep it in stable condition. All it needs is well draining soil and nothing to worry about root rot.

    what kind of peaches do you get from this tree? I bought a tree from Lowe's couple years back marked as Belle of GA thinking I would have white fleshed peaches, but the peaches I got last year were yellow fleshed, so I'm trying to figure out if my tree was mislabeled, or I misunderstood something about the variety while buying it, and they are yellow?
