    I have been waiting for something like the TB50 for a long time. As someone who is out shooting all day frequently I have looked for an integrated, well built charging solution that could help me manage my power all day long.
    The DJI battery station is built inside of a rugged, SKB/Pelican style cakes. It fits carry n dimensions and can transport up to 12 TB50 batteries along with WCH2 charging hubs, WB37 batteries and various cables.
    The battery station can charge up to eight TB50 batteries simultaneously. It can also charge other devices including the Inspire 2 remote controller and WB37 Intelligent Battery via multiple charging ports, and mobile devices via USB ports. The 2 USB ports provide 5V 2A for power.
    In addition to charge and discharge capabilities, the DJI Battery Station provides information about your batteries to ensure proper management. When a TB50 Battery is attached, its current firmware version will display on the station's LCD screen. The battery station has a USB port to connect directly to a computer at that point the Battery Station can update up to eight batteries to their latest firmware version through DJI Assistant 2 on the computer
    Over the course of using the battery station I used all the different charge modes, it has 3 charge modes to choose from depending on your need at that moment,
    Normal mode, eight connected TB50 batteries can be charged simultaneously, until all batteries are fully charged.
    Quick mode, the four TB50 batteries with the highest battery level in the same group will be charged to 90% inabout 35 minutes.
    Silent mode, charging speed is lowered to provide a quieter charging cycle in noise sensitive areas
    This isn’t a “cheap” solution at $1199 but if you are someone with an Inspire 2, Matrice M210 or Ronin all kitted out then you are already in for $10k-$25k in your equipment and this is likely a piece of equipment that you are going to find a huge use case for.
    This has saved me hours and hours of time in maintaining my batteries and keeping them at the right discharge levels for storage and keeping enough power on set all day long for extended shoots.

      I am waiting for a reply from DJI on this - I suspect it should be very soon, if I didn't have this one I would be looking all over as well. All the major places that would normally have it show a couple week wait.
      Watch this thread, I will reply back here ASAP.

      When it comes to discharging you mentioned 50% and 25% can you take it down to say 5%

    • @BillNicholsTV
      @BillNicholsTV  6 років тому

      25% and 50% - I wouldn't want to take them down to 5% as they will slowly discharge to less than 5 through sitting. You don't want to repeatedly take them below 5% per DJI - long term storage the 25% level is the recommended level

    I finally got mine! I pre-ordered just after seeing this and it is great. It has been a huge pain for me to keep the batteries discharged when I don't use them all the way down and also to be able to fly all day and be able charge them. I now keep this plugged in and as I go through a set of batteries I throw them on so they are ready when I need them. At the end of the day whatever ones I haven't ended up using I plug in at home and discharge.
    thanks for making these videos, it seriously helped me decided if I was going to buy or not!

    Nice review Bill, good to see you back. I am hoping to get my drone business off the ground soon. I can not believe I will need to renew my Part 107 this summer as I was close to the start date for testing. My current career ( A380 Service Engineer) got really busy slowing my start for the business. In the meantime, I still Fly and make videos on my hobby channel, check it out. I look forward to seeing your channel postings. If I do get that sophisticated with my business, I will consider the DJI battery station.

    Great video, just ordered mine. Can you clarify when you would use 25 vs 50 percent discharge? I am moving overseas, will be sent over by sea freight and might go into storage until I get my goods again. Do I discharge to 25 or 50 percent?

    Nice video review! How much AC power in KWh/KW does it consume when charging 8 TB50's in normal mode and 4 TB50's in Quick Charge mode? Also can this Charging Station work when plugged into a portable inverter generator like Generac iQ2000? Thanks.

    Nice video👍 DJI needs to make a mini version of this for Mavic 2 Enterprise and Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual batteries, with "Quick Charge mode" to charge at least 6 batteries simultaneously and ability to charge CrystalSky batteries too🙏

    The 4 battery hubs charge 2 at a time. I only ever put 2 batteries on them. I have 4 hubs and can charge 8 batteries at a time and find that keeps me in the air continuously. So, this charge station should work very well!

    • @BillNicholsTV
      @BillNicholsTV  6 років тому

      Couple good points Eric, but the extra 3 hubs and chargers required get you over half the way to this. For those that don’t know, to get two to charge simultaneously with the hub the batteries need to be paired in the DJI Go app first or you will charge from lowest to highest. Thanks for watching!

    • @ericbraun4652

      Yes! I would DEFINITELY have purchased this had it been available when we needed it. My charge rig draws "ooohs" and "aaaahs" but it's no where near as clean and small as this. This is just SO pro! I can't hardly wait.

    Why do I need to mark my batteries and use them in pairs, I don't really understand this.

    • @AtortAerials
      @AtortAerials 3 роки тому

      Because drones like an Inspire 2 run two batteries at the same time and you want them to be identical in regards to usage and charges and health and condition to avoid any issues.

    • @BillNicholsTV
      @BillNicholsTV  6 років тому

      not really - for all it does - when you look at charging stations offered by other companies (for the inspire 1 as an example) they were around $500-$800 for a standalone device, that charged 4 batteries, didn't have a carrying case / field solution and that was it. This is by far the best solution out there and if you are using multiple batteries frequently the ability to discharge unused ones at the end of the day alone saves you hours.

      michael scott that’s more helpful :) - it’s actually probably just that I’m surrounded by all hard surfaces, had just got things up that day, zero sound deadening, in front of my is 80’ feet of open space to concrete walls. Cheers
