Great to see a honest review from a German fan. Hope to see what the atmosphere will uphold when Everton plays Liverpool in their new stadium next season! Hope you will be there!

The football on the pitch has been dreadful and the last manager sucked the life out of the fans. As he left 3 days ago hopefully things will improve as we move towards the new stadium.
Saints fan here, I think it's not only your atmosphere but in general, fans haven't got the same patience as before and also partly due the ridicolous wages they earn I think it's hard to support the team the same way as before. Watching people on £60.000 a week and be all supportive when all they give back is rubbish feels kind of hopeless especialy since the loyalty is long gone as well. Started going in the early 70s as a kid, what an atmosphere, no trophies but fantastic times, Bob Latchfords hunt for 30 goals is a special memory for me.
As a German, I don‘t think I‘ll ever understand english fan culture. It‘s sad to see how money kicked all the hardliner fans out, with insane ticket prices. UK football culture had sth really unique to it, and I am very sad it‘s barely existing anymore
Ditto - I remember when BL hit 30 goals during a 6-0 win over Chelsea. Everton won a penalty and Bob (not a usual penalty taker) scored the penalty to get him over the line. (I hope I have remembered that correctly lol).
Marvellous memory. I must have been right behind the photographer who took the well known photo of that 30th goal. It's on bobs autobiography front cover.
As a Redshite fan from across the park, I'll say a few things about Goodison. 1) It's one of the most iconic stadiums in the country and it will be a genuine tragedy to see it bulldozed. There are very few traditional stadiums left of it's kind and will be a genuine loss to English football and it's fantastic heritage. Liveprool fans likes to take the piss out of the wooden seats etc, but there is no denying its history. It will also be incredible sad for the area when that stadium gets bulldozed. It is already an impoverished area, but with a strong community. The majority of the traditional pubs and chippy's will not survive the move. 2) Everton have had chances in the past to renovate the stadium while keeping it's traditional charms. Unfortunately, it is now too late. Everton have been one of the worst run clubs in the Prem for a long time now. As your video clearly shows, it is not a stadium fit for the modern era. The new stadium will be beneficial for the wider city (although sadly a huge loss for Walton). That said, I have yet to see a successful move to a new stadium from any team in which the traditional feel for the club is maintained. Higher ticket prices are inevitable, and there will be an inevitable dilution of Everton's Scouse core as they try to get fans in from elsewhere (something they have long taken the piss out of Liverpool for). 3) On its day (especially derbys) it's one of the loudest and most hostile stadiums in the country. From what I've been told by my Dad and older generations from the time when it was more common to go to Anfield one week, and Goodison the next, there has always been a difference in atmosphere between Goodison and Anfield. Goodison has always been more of a "bear pit" with a more moody atmosphere, that is incredibly hostile to opposition players and the ref, but also hostile to their own if not up to the job. Anfield has always been a more encouraging and uplifting atmosphere, with a much wider variety of songs. Despite the horrors of Heysel, most opposition fans will tell you Goodison was the far scarier place to venture in the 70's and 80's.
Hi, i think i need to adress some of the things. Coming into this match Everton wasnt in good form and the fans started to lose hope in the manager, so thats why the fans werent even chanting. But it is well known that Everton fans are arguably the best fans in the country. They sell out every away game. But you have to get that the fans are exhausted, the results are not there. But if you look at the start of the season or even like 2 months back, the amount of support every game was just crazy, even when the resulst were not coming their way. People pay so much money to watch Everton for example at Bournemouth, which is the south cost miles away and the away end was full. So at one side i completely get your disappointment, but on the other hand i think you need to take this into account. Actually a new manager was appointed today, so its a shame you will not get to hear the Everton roar :)) Thanks a lot for the vid, it was great!
Goodison is probably the loudest when the fans are not demoralized like currently. Been there when you feel it shake. This season the style of play has bored everyone to sleep
Everton fan here. Enjoyed it but sad you were disappointed. Truth is we’ve been battered and bruised for a few years now and the fans are worn down. But new owners, new manager and new stadium soon. Things are looking up. Keep coming back
Super gemacht, well done!! Unfortunately, you picked probably the worst period in Everton's history in terms of their team quality on the pitch and that is reflected through the tiredness of the fans. It's been a very difficult few years but things will hopefully change. New owners, new coach, new stadium! - Wo kommt ihr her? 😎
Thanks Sven! Yeah I thought so, we got the tickets months ago, hoped Everton would be in a better form by then but sadly can‘t control that 😅 Wir sind aus NRW!

Hi fiago, I am so glad that you visiting Everton Football Club. This is the club I always support. I'm a big fan of this club. For me, Everton have a rich of history. We already achieving fantastic achievment in England and also in Europe. I hope with the new owner, Everton can back to their best performance.
The prominence of Goodison Park as a stadium is perhaps been lost in the 21st century but this was where they held the other World Cup Semi Final in 1966 because at that time it was genuinely considered to be the best and most advanced club stadium in England. It was the first proper purpose built stadium with four actual stands, there were older grounds but they were not stadiums in the true sense. This ground was ahead of the curve in so many ways throughout the 20th century but it has been in sharp decline since the 90s and the time is right to move.
Good video. As an Everton fan it’s lucky you went now and not a few years back as the toilets were best described as medieval. It used to just be a wall you would urinate up. Hopefully you do a video next season on the new ground.
I appreciate you making an effort to recognise the history of our grand old stadium. It’s a shame you probably picked the worst game for atmosphere this season. Goodison erupts on a good day 💙
Liverpool fan here, Goodison Park is a stadium of its time, it's also iconic and being the World's oldest football stadium it needs to be saved. I'm sure it could be used as a working museum to Merseyside Football History as well as using it for both Everton and Liverpool ladies, schools games like finals for local leagues sides and for concerts. It will be a crying shame and should be a crime to demolish and build on this ground, how could we allow such a historical place to be totally destroyed when it should be preserved for future generations.
The large main stand can be demolished. Maintenence costs are large. Then use it for the ladies. But the maintenance costs will dictate if Goodison Park stays or not.
You’ve caught Everton at a particularly bad time in their story, so you can’t judge the fans on atmosphere at the moment. Plus you’re in the main stand along the touchline - rather than in one of the ends (behind the goals ) where there’s traditionally more singing in English football stadia. But yeah Everton are going through a terrible time right now
Fiago try and get a ticket on one of the final games of the season, the atmosphere will be mad, maybe Southampton final game as there will be a pitch invasion and we should win.
Just wish you came at a better time for Everton, the life has been drained out of Goodison over the years. Boring football and no vision for the club. I've only left the stadium early once in 10 years as a season ticket holder, but ive felt like i wanted to so many times recently
Did yous know that West Germany played their 1966 semi final against Lev Yashin and the soviet Union at that old ground. Once upon a time, THAT was hi-tech, and was behind only Wembley the big games came
Great review, I am an Everton fan, been going for 30 years or so now. The atmosphere here is awful at the moment, fans are a bit fed up of watching poor football, which doesnt spur the team on.
What a shame you saw Goodison on that day. I was at the game too, immediately opposite you in the paddock stand. It is one of the worst Everton games and Everton atmospheres I have witnessed. This is not normal for our club - that match was the manager's final game before he was sacked. The fans were sick of his ultra defensive tactics and in that game we started with 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders at home!! The fans were quiet because of this mindset from the manager. He was sacked before the next game. Just fyi. I kook forward to you coming back to our new stadium.
You were actually in one of the newer stands, that was built in 1969-70. It always had too many pillars as it was built just before cantilevers were introduced. The park end was built in 1994 and is a better stand, bullens has three tiers and a lot of wood. .
Hey Fiago. I think you should definitely talk about Egypt's Al Ahly Ultras who were the fiercest groups of ultras in football culture outside Europe and South America. Their own history and notoriety are amongst the most scariest which you should check
I have to say you visited in a really bad period for Everton. I can promise you that ground will generate an atmosphere which is both second to none and famous. You need to go back now Moyes is back. This coming Wednesday will be bouncing!
I'm gutted we are moving but we do need to expand, ive heard that we will still own the land and that we are building for Everton in the community. COYB ETID
Love your content, here's some suggestions; Non-League Derby vs Prem Derby: would be a fun video to see an English non-league derby because the atmoaphere is still great in tiny stadiums. One non-league derby you could see is Woking vs Aldershot. North London Derby; It's a good derby and there's always drama. Ediburgh Derby (Hearts vs Hibernian): Very underrated due to the focus on the Old Firm. Hibs like Celtic were formed by Irish immigrants so they are Irish proud and from what I've seen Hearts fans are likeley to be Protestant Unionists, maybe not to Rangers' extent though. Superclasico: Obvious Intercontinental Derby (Galatasary vs Fenerbache): Another obvious one South Wales Derby: Rivalry between Cardiff City and Swansea City. Pretty heated and 2 Swansea players (yes, players) actually got arrested because they held a flag saying "Fuck off Cardiff".
Where did you get your information? Goodison Park opened in September 1892. There are many football stadiums older than Goodison that are 'pure'. Ewood Park, Turf Moor, Bramhall Lane and Deepdale which hosted its first match in October 1878 and has been continuously used by PNE ever since. Still, it'll be sad to see the end of Goodison. Great ground, great history.
Goodison Park was built from the outset to play football, with 4 developed sides accommodating spectators on opening. All others emerged gradually from open fields.
The main stand is hard to hear atmosphere not so far away from my season ticket and it feels like the atmosphere is shite but if you go lower down near the glad ways you will find a much better atom sphere i think it is because of the stadium design
You should come back before the end of the season. Now Dyche is gone the atmosphere should return to a better level, as we will actually attack not just sit back and hope not to concede
According to the Guinness book of world records it is (sandy gate) stadium or ground in Sheffield thats been used since 1804..when it comes to continuous A.F football then Scotland has older ones again but i suppose you where talking the premier league....my brother was a big Everton fan and we lived not far away in l7👍.. Everton's new ground will look amazing and i think with the new/old coach they'll stay in the premier league..
As an Everton fan, the atmosphere has been very flat recently. Our old manager didn’t play to the crowd. Hopefully now with a new manager the old goodison will return. Hope u enjoyed ❤❤
When I saw what game you was at I got sad, you really aren't seeing us at our best . Years and years of decline have ruined us and especially a game like that .
Fiago the entrance u used was the same one I used today to watch Everton vs Aston Villa! I hope u enjoyed the match I was also there if it was against Peterborough EDIT: I think u sat on the same row as me lmao
The Oldest Football Stadium in all of football, including non-league football, is Sandygate, which is the ground of Hallam Football Club in non-league football. That's worth the trip, trust me 😊
Couldn’t agree with you more with the atmosphere, it’s just a toxic environment right now just awful teams and awful managers have took the love out of the ground
Footballs oldest football stadium is sandygate home to Hallam fc in Sheffield fiago. And The oldest professional stadium is brammal lane home to sheff United
This is just a play on words, Goodison was built in 1892 , Anfield were Everton used to play was opened in 1884 which theoretically makes Anfield older, but the oldest football ground recognised by Guinness book of records is Sandygate first opened in 1804, so you see it’s a play on words.
I have been to Goodison a couple times as a Liverpool away fan it’s an absolutely shite fan experience, the only good thing about it is the retro nostalgia of the place. The new stadium is much needed. Germany has full safe standing with beers in the stadium, couple with very cheap season tickets, makes the atmosphere better much better

Mate, go to the cove in sydney, when its a derby, you will not be disappointed, better fans then most pl clubs
Really? Quite a far journey to make but would love to see it one day
@@Fiago we would love to have ya, one day💪
Hey Fiago. I think you should definitely talk about Egypt's Al Ahly Ultras who were the fiercest groups of ultras in football culture outside Europe and South America. Their own history and notoriety are amongst the most scariest which you should check
There is a short documentary about the al ahly ultras on africa is a country youtube channel made by mehar mezahi
First time watcher loving the style of this video
I have to say you visited in a really bad period for Everton. I can promise you that ground will generate an atmosphere which is both second to none and famous. You need to go back now Moyes is back. This coming Wednesday will be bouncing!
You were in the Main Stand - built in 1969-1971.
FiaGOAT! You should do a video at Crystal Palace, Newcastle or Forest
Palace is very high on my list!
@Fiago These 3 have the best atmospheres in the PL. Compared to Spurs ofc, corporate rubbish. (Hope you're good btw, Dev here)
I'm gutted we are moving but we do need to expand, ive heard that we will still own the land and that we are building for Everton in the community. COYB ETID
I‘m really excited to see what you‘ll build there!
@Fiago so am I lol
Everton will be renting the land at Bramley Moore Dock.
Love your content, here's some suggestions;
Non-League Derby vs Prem Derby: would be a fun video to see an English non-league derby because the atmoaphere is still great in tiny stadiums.
Superclasico: Obvious
Intercontinental Derby (Galatasary vs Fenerbache): Another obvious one
South Wales Derby: Rivalry between Cardiff City and Swansea City.
How on earth did you manage to get a ticket!? I never seem able too! :)
You should come back before the end of the season. Now Dyche is gone the atmosphere should return to a better level, as we will actually attack not just sit back and hope not to concede
as a Nottingham fan, i loved this game.
Those seats were at a worse place sitting in the park end or lower gwladys would be very good
Komm nach Basel!!! Vor allem wenn sie gegen Zürich oder Bern spielen.
Come to Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. latest stadium in Czechia !
Respect your honesty 😂
😅🤝
Come to finland and visit bolt areena it is home to biggest club in finland hjk helsinki
Moving from a old shack to a giant pizza oven. Lol.
Our football under dyche was horrendous
You need to come back in a big game this season for a proper experience
Is Bramall Lane not the oldest, live near to Sheffield and blades fans like to mention it a lot
As an Everton fan, the atmosphere has been very flat recently. Our old manager didn’t play to the crowd. Hopefully now with a new manager the old goodison will return. Hope u enjoyed ❤❤
You got the right man in I believe! Good luck to you guys, such an iconic club must stay up 🤝
When I saw what game you was at I got sad, you really aren't seeing us at our best . Years and years of decline have ruined us and especially a game like that .
Fiago the entrance u used was the same one I used today to watch Everton vs Aston Villa! I hope u enjoyed the match I was also there if it was against Peterborough
EDIT: I think u sat on the same row as me lmao
Great video this, loved it, been going there since the 60s. But will I miss it. No its been a curse.
You didn't pick a good time to visit Goodison...
He's only young 😂
The Oldest Football Stadium in all of football, including non-league football, is Sandygate, which is the ground of Hallam Football Club in non-league football.
That's worth the trip, trust me 😊
Wasn't a football ground it was multipurpose
@pfella1878 Very true
@@ChallDRFC so it's not the oldest football stadium. ......as you admit
Couldn’t agree with you more with the atmosphere, it’s just a toxic environment right now just awful teams and awful managers have took the love out of the ground
You were on wrong stand for Chants, Galway is propably the only one that is gonna be most of the time "loud".
Footballs oldest football stadium is sandygate home to Hallam fc in Sheffield fiago. And The oldest professional stadium is brammal lane home to sheff United
'FIRST PURPOSE BUILT STADIUM' He said - try listening 👂
@ I’m deaf and blind mate
@ either way still a misleading title?
When u coming to Australia ????
This is just a play on words, Goodison was built in 1892 , Anfield were Everton used to play was opened in 1884 which theoretically makes Anfield older, but the oldest football ground recognised by Guinness book of records is Sandygate first opened in 1804, so you see it’s a play on words.
'THE FIRST PURPOSE BUILT STADIUM check the facts before you contradict posts
Anfield (where Liverpool play) was originally Everton's Football Ground ... So Anfield is the oldest football Ground.
Another one who doesn't listen, and knows nothing of football history
Fiago , please go to Stamford Bridge too
I have been to Goodison a couple times as a Liverpool away fan it’s an absolutely shite fan experience, the only good thing about it is the retro nostalgia of the place. The new stadium is much needed.
Germany has full safe standing with beers in the stadium, couple with very cheap season tickets, makes the atmosphere better much better
A whole couple of times😅😅😅 as a Liverpool fan 😂😂😂 talking crap
Come to the city ground you’ll hear noise all game
Another South African Evertonian like me :D
Oh wow! Apparently quite a popular club in SA 🇿🇦
Could you go to the german Football team Vfb Stuttgart?
you should go watch a game at bury county
We'll have to get you back next year in the new stadium so you can compare.
The stand you sat in was built in 1970!
Good team to watch
Now I get why they risked a point deduction to build a new stadium 😭
yeah they desperately need it
Sad to leave in some ways BUT Goodison since the standing went is not so good!
The club needs a move and the new ground is a fantastic development.
Come to Liverpool mate we’ve got the loudest atmosphere in the world ❤❤
Fiago came to Goodison and now Sean Dyche is sacked 😭
I was actually at this game just as a forest fan so didn’t see you❤
Were you in the away section?
yes
@fiago You should come watch us at home it’s a great atmosphere if you get chance
We havnt had much to sing about in recent years mate
🥲
Atleast he seen us loose another game
you should go to a cricket game in india england is goona play in indian this month so the atmosphere will be good here
It barely meets safety standards and regulations now. They needed to move
The Lords of Football.
Fiago, come to Old Trafford for the Manchester Derby
