I just received my RG35XX H. After few hours of testing I can say that stock OS is surprisingly good!

I am wondering if a new BATOCERA CFW will come out, I'm stuck in STOCK OS because iv been told performance now is very good for psx or PSP games
But I don't like the ugly design I want something more aesthetic and Batocera is the best but still on process hopefully they can give us a better CFW

Awesome tutorial. I ve got a question. Adding new roms (in this case tiny best set GO) to new micro sd card needs to move from old game card the BIOS FOLDER or its enough to copy just all FOLDERS ?? Asking because the games mostly are working but some doesnt give the opportunity to move(Arkanoid for example) and there is NO GAME with EXAMPLE FOTO how this game looks like . Thanks in advance for help. SUB
Great tutorial! One question: I flashed the 16 gb iso in a 128 GB sd card because I already have the bios/roms in my PC but now I can't expand the partition to 128 gb. I'm trying the single sd setup. Should I go to 64gb img?
You won't be able to expand either, you can only use 16gb or 64gb.
Stock OS is the best for RG35XX H. I have even tried R11 of MuOS but stock still wins. Everything just works on stock.
Swear to god everyone says a different thing. Batocera, kalli os, stock, muos or others are either mandatory or garbage, I feel the community is very scattered currently
I’ve tried them all, and I’m always a fan of cfw, but simply for this device, the newest stock os just works so well it’s not worth changing it.
I recall hearing that an issue in the cfw community with the Allwinner H700 is they don’t have an open source gpu driver for it. I’m starting to wonder if Anbernic has the driver and that’s why they’re using the H700s… so they control the firmware more. My 2 cents
@@therealchriskirk From what ive been getting from research deviating from stock os now in may of 2024 is only useful if you want specific little things like better certain kinds of emulation or to make portmaster stuff work better. i cant believe anbernic discourse is worse than R36S discourse right now too, it's insane how centralized the internet is but how gatekept all the good info is on these open source consoles
@@StarmenRock I have tried them all and the main problem I come across is you have to spend hours and hours after install to set everything up to work how you want it to work and things still don't work how you want them to work. If you look at the latest Stock OS for H you copy over the roms and your done. Everything works. I have not come across any game on stock where it didn't work.
@@mohrasher thats what im going for too probably, just really wish we could use portmaster on stock os. Its the only missing piece in the whole equation, im just not too upset over that because i also have a psp for those games and also bought an r36s for 26usd on ali which runs portmaster better than the rg35xx. Fantastic guide, thank you! I'm trying to make Neo Geo CD games work on the RG35XX H but for some reason the option to select the system doesn't appear on RA Game. The games are chd format on the neocd folder, the bios are also on a separate neocd folder inside the bios folder but still nothing shows up for NGCD. I noticed that it doesn't seem like there's a Neo Geo CD core available so I wonder if you can't actually play that system on the RG35XX H?
I don't believe that core is added yet.

Thanks for making this video. My device already had the latest firmware installed so I skipped to cloning the original SD card via Disk Genius. According to Disk Genius the operation was successful but unfortunately the console won't turn on at all when the new cloned SD card is inserted. It still works with the old one.

Hi, my rg35xx has dual system. I don't wanna use the existing SD 64gb card that came with it.
I tried clone it but it's so difficult because my win10 got very defensive at everything I did.
Now I decided to just download the large update on anbernic site.
I wonder if those zip files would appear afew zip files. Now if it do appears a few then what should I do?
Do I write them multiple times into new SD card?
know im a bit late to the party but can anyone give any input on the portability of the 35xx h vs the pocket flip??
ive been thinking about replacing my miyoo mini v3 with something like the 35xx h, but i already own a pocket flip and from what i can tell the footprint and weight of the pocket flip is very similar to the xx h but with the 5'' screen basically slapped on the front. is the size/weight of the pocket flip really significant over the xx h?

I have a card set with batocera for my h but went back to stock with the April 9th firmware update.
As much as I prefer the visual layout of something like Batocera, I like to play games when I pick up my handheld, not wait for the boot up.
if I have a 128gb card, can i use that for the 64gb thing? or does it HAVE to be 64gb...
did everythimg u said when i put in the new sd card the game do not load but when i put the card in my computer everything is there
256GB card makes a lot of sense if you're going to do Dreamcast games!
This shows how OnionOS is miles ahead of any other retro firmware/OS out there!

It would be overkill, but you can use it yep.

That depends on which option you choose when you buy it. It should state something about having games or no games included wherever you're getting it from.

You can if you want, you'll have no roms or bios files, and you'll only be able to use 16GB of the 32GB.

I still cannot get Amiga to work on stock OS, I have to revert back to MuOS for Amiga games
Is there a way to just copy the data over from the crappy SD card it comes with to the new SD card? I’m having troubles following this.

As long as you're cloning from the 64GB to a 64GB, you can use this.
Hey everyone, does anyone know why does he say "against my wishes" for backing up the roms that come with the device in 8:06? (I'm a total noob and am just trying to make sure the device is at its best)
On stock on any of my XX devices I can't get auto load save state to stick. I turn it on in RA settings and then save the config file, but it always turns itself off. Any idea why? It is the same on my 28xx, 35xxH, and Plus. Thanks
Are you opening RetroArch from settings instead of opening a game and making that change?
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds I have tried both. It always reverts back after saving the config file. I can get hotkeys to change, but never auto load. Right now I am only running stock on my 28XX while waiting for MuOS to release.

I saw many people get 128gb from Samsung. Do you think its better to set all two sd in Sandisk brand.
Also, are you using a set of sandisk for all different consoles? or the roms SD can be common used?
SanDisk or Samsung are both great, either works.
I'm not sure I understand the second question, but the ROM SD card is just one card with all the systems on it.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds T very much, sorry for confusing on the 2nd question. what I meant was, for the system SD, if I am purchasing another item for instance RG556 in future, can I just pull it form 35XX H and then just plug into the new device then play? or I need to keep purchasing new TF cards while I am buying new machine? I am newbie acturally but acturally I don't know how poor the quality from the micro SD which enclosed with 35XXH. I am learning from youtube now :)
Someone tested the Samsung cards and it wrting speed is very good. I think I will purchase one or two more consoles later. This is fun and Thanks for your video.

Sorry, you don't need a USB drive at all, you need an SD card reader to connect it to the PC to be able to transfer games over or update.

I used the 16gb firmware img on a 16gb card. No need to waste a 64gb card if your just going to put your roms on a bigger card anyway.
Yep that works if you have a 16gb card otherwise they cost more than a 64gb on Amazon nowadays, so doesn't make much sense to buy anymore.

Thing is, no CFW has been able to compete in performance on these H700 devices to date. The alpha Batocera builds are particularly abysmal by comparison (giving closer to RK3326 preformance). So in the meantime...

Yep that's another example. These obscure chipsets (H700 and A133P) are causing us to use stock FW in pursuit of proper performance in the interim.
