When it comes to Ammo Funnel, there was a mod that was made that actually allowed us to play with the new version of the skill, and it was tons of fun to play with. The increased reload speed was very noticeable, and felt much more satisfying than the normal Ammo Funnel because it wasn't just something that fades away into the background (like current AF). And while I understand your point, and respect it, I do disagree about nerfs. I think making tweaks like that to fine tune gameplay is a good thing, though they should rework the entire skill system to skill trees, and redo all of the available skills to be more interesting. I don't personally like the direction of PAYDAY 2's insane build powers, basically making the player invincible. And difficulty bloat was a major issue in that game. There are more directions the game can go, and a lot of the concepts behind changes they made are understandable, even if a good amount of them don't work (like the armor, which thankfully is being redone entirely).PAYDAY: The Heist is a great example of challenge and fun. Anyway, though I disagree with some of the things you've said, twas a good, well made video. Keep it up :)
My biggest problem with the game right now is the lack of variety and content. Im sitting on millions of dollars and C stacks but theres not much to spend the currency on besides a mask or two or a new weapon every few months or so, not to mention that most of the weapons feel sameish and lack much variety on both the weapon itself and modifications. Plus, heists are pretty repetitive and get old very quickly.
yknow when I think of good payday heists I think of fwb, harvest & trustee, any of the dentist heists, counterfeit, undercover, shadow raid. Slaughterhouse wouldn't be one of my first options but honestly it being brought up made me realise it would fit in really well with the heists we have currently.
Virtually any of original PDTH heists would fit, Heat street would probably be the most aesthetic with the gunfights in the middle of the street but I would love to see panic room and green bridge
As someone who has over 500 hours in payday 3 I have to say that I appreciate your review now obviously I liked the game way more than others but I think it did have a rough start and that it definitely needed more work before it launched but as a fan of the franchise I’m glad they didn’t give up on this and I really hope payday 3 has a future because I personally love the game 😊
I don't know why so few people are talking about the missing progression. They fixed how it works, but not how it's still not there. For the last 3 DLC heists, I've played them a few times, then went back to the main menu to see I'm still max level, have everything unlocked and on 22/22 achievements. I wouldn't even need to play a new heist and would still be at 100% after every update.
I personally think PD3 has way bigger problems than a lack of grind goals. When they make said grinding fun, then sure, I'll whine about the progression like everyone else. Game isn't there yet tho
Here’s what I think assuming you are not buying dlcs don’t buy the game on full price there’s just not enough free content and the bugs that are in the game
I'm surprised at how almost no one talks about how a big reason for the success of the second payday was that you could play heist without buying it. I played it for 1800 hours precisely because I always had something to play and got new content regularly, even if I couldn't pay for it. I bought all the dlc's except h3h3 pack, even the overkill pack which was on sale for a limited time. Also being able to play the heist for free allowed you to evaluate it and decide whether or not to buy it without taking a cat in the bag. And you didn't have to have a friend with a purchased dlc who you have to force to play the dlc's you want to play. The content for the gold edition 3 payday is finished, and if they're not going to change the way they monetize it and keep releasing dlc, I'll probably just stop playing the game rather than wait for them to release free heist.
Love the insights you are providng on what's going on for the past year as I've tuned out since the Beta and Launch. Now I just pick the base game up on sale few days ago and I've been enjoying it a bit. The issues I encounter are mostly align with you mentioned in the video; Skill perk system and the skill itself sucks, missing PD2 style lobby, always online only and so on. I really love PD2 and PD franchise as a whole, so I hope the game comes back to stand on its legs once again with Almir now in the lead and the re-structuring of the board.
I agree Lack of variety is a big issue, plus the way they put out content. weekly masks and the daily rewards are broken, community event and it's a dumpster fire, They NEED to stop, they already look bad they REALLY don't need to make it any worse they are literally condemning the game, if they want it to grow it starts with them doing better.
While i agree with the lack of variety. One of the problems is also the replayability of maps. But don't forget where the game was at launch, now we have almir as the director of overkill. So since he listen a lot to the community i hope everything Will get way better
They announced a live service and sold a DLC based game. They changed systems like armor, favors or even resets to incentivize players trying stealth until the alarm went off, yet some heists like NRFW or RR didn't support this at all. And worse of all, when you buy a 90€ payday game, you receive a decent 40€ shooter.
Destiny one of the biggest live service games has dlc as its main monetisation method I would rather fairly priced dlc rather than overpriced skins and cosmetics
@@Crit_Croc it sounds a bit sharp, particularly the "s" sounds. personally i think its good enough quality for engaging commentary videos but you might be able to fix it in 5mins by chucking on a de-esser
This game to this day and i wager for the next couple of years if not more is THE "imma wait for more uodates then play this game" depending on how much free/base game updates they add cuz if every single goddamn update is paid for which is what they did up to now then the game will forever be dead and fully deserves it. Overall what ruined this game were two things imo: 1-Greed, too much dlc and paid shit no free shit for the game the ppl f**king paid full price for. 2-Mainstreaming game design/Bad game design, they tried to make the game appeal to a broader playerbase by simplifying all the mechanics the previous games had all to appeal to ppl who can't think and understand the mechanics of PD2 for exemple. So simplifying the game for more players to find it easier to join in but that backfired cuz to get a couple more players in they traded a dozen or more because the fans of PD2 and the original view of the game didn't like the simplicity of the 3rd game.
On the other side of the coin, they wanted to make it more welcoming for new players. They simplified it so anyone new to Payday wouldn't immediately be bogged down with a shit ton of terms they don't understand. i agree they should have kept it a bit more complicated, but they simplified it for a reason.
I know right but since they add "old" maps i hope they being back shadow raid or crimespree Now that they said they will be discussing on a "crimenet 2.0" and the futur armor rework we're getting somewhere
So depressed with the state of payday 3, if they just released it as a copy of payday 2 with an updated engine with new animations and cosmetics I would of happily paid £70
I mean it's a very dumb down version of payday 2. The only really upgrade is the stealth, but even then it's so ez compared to payday 2 it's actually insane. 😂
They probably wanted to do this initially but unfortunately the diesel engine which payday 2 was made on is notoriously not good to work with and doesn't play well with any other engine so porting it would have been more difficult than just making an entirely new game but I would have loved that aswell
@@Crit_Croc true but they could've remade the PD2 into another engine instead of porting, then name it PD3 and then continue what 2 couldn't do anymore which is adding more paid content for the next 5 to 10 years. I know remaking a game in another engine is hard but it would've worked and ppl would've bought it and played it but the garbage we got was one thing and one thing only "that game you regret spending money on" 😂😂
@@SHAdow98V that would of certainly been an option but you also then have to remember payday 2 was made 10 years ago by a very different team so even if the current team did this I don't think it would even be on par with payday 2 unfortunately I genuinely believe them making a new game from scratch would be the best approach. now changing the entire games identity and signature game style I don't think that was the smartest move by this newer team.
@@SHAdow98V The big issue with just basically porting PD2 is that the game already exists, if the next game was the exact same and basically just a port of the previous game, people wouldn't be happy. The approach they took didn't work much either but I can see why they took it.
I am back after long time, and i played PD3 yesturday and i L❤️ve it. They are back for real now 💪🔥🔥
