Bought and loved the 350M. Great handheld BUT after getting the Retroid Pocket 2, I can now sell the 350M - at first I wasn’t sure I could let it go, but the retroid is just better in so many ways - more comfortable to play in longer sessions, and N64 emulation is BOSS. I would have paid 80 for a N64 portable and yet it does so much more and with switch-style triggers. The Anbernics are great but give retroid pocket 2 a look before buying!
Sadly Android is a mess to organize every systems. Emuelec blows it out the water.
I was on the fence about buying the RG351P but damn, that metal grey 351m is sweet looking. I think im gonna pull the trigger.

What can you do with its WiFi capability? Just scraping roms/updating firmware? does it have streaming?

With the new update on ark OS it should run n 64 way better

But that’s because N64 games were coded weirdly and the N64 had very specific hardware, not because this device is not powerful enough. GameCube is much easier to emulate, because the GameCube ran on hardware that was akin to pc.
Or something along those lines… I’m no expert.
Got mine today and first time buying any anbernic product and i can only found out that the consoles charge from usbA>usbC cables only and not usbC>usbC cables

I wonder how many companies have ever re-released the exact same hardware in different form factors over this much time. I hope they eventually upgrade the cpu
the one good thing about the Odroid Go Advance and clones are they are supported by Batocera, Emuelec, RetroArena, etc etc. I use Batocera and I keep getting constant updates with new systems being added, new features. Whatever handheld people go with 1) stay away from retropie as it takes a min and half to boot while Batocera is about 12 or so seconds. 2) get a device that can boot from one of the above firmwares and not just their own. Emulationstation is awesome.
Maybe the Odroid GO Super($80) is a good deal, it's The GO Advance but with some improvements and pre assembled.
Yeah. I have the OGA and thr OGA BE. I expect some devices using the Pi4 cm soon at least.
What an awesome video. I would buy this to play genesis and gameboy color/advance games. I'll definitely be trying ps1 on it. It was cool seeing you play Mortal Kombat 4 on it. I can't wait to try it 😁🙌🏼
ooo nice i had the RG350 on my wishlist.. now RG351 on wishlist. Im not expecting them to run crysis.. Just give a quality experience and feel with minimal headaches.
How did you find the wifi on the device? "There wil be a knew one in a couple of weeks" you hit the nail on the head. I wish they would just put more time into making the device better then adding one or two features on each upgrade.
these are really great when it comes to button layout and form factor. clearly good build quality too. I just really wanna see them put a 720p screen in it and beef up the specs so it can play PS2 and gamecube reliably. 15 years after the original psp (hacked ofc) and it plays mostly the same games (with the exception of N64 games which it seems to run much better). I'd be willing to pay much more if they fulfilled those 2 things. also love the addition of wifi. definitely seems like they're slowly refining over time, hopefully I'm not asking too much and we see these features in the future. Excellent review as always :)
Why 720p? Most classic systems are 4:3 aspect ratio and 480p tops.

Got one setting it up a new refresh i hope because this thing is too much fun tbh and it looks and plays so smoothly for what it does i donno i love it play it more than the og GBA^^
The screen isn't as nice as the 350M, and the ratio isn't 3:4. I'll wait for the next model to upgrade my 350M.

Even the CPU isn't a big enough upgrade, IMO. It can't emulate N64, Dreamcast, or PSP reliably enough for me to ditch the RG350M.

351 elec or arkOS is ALOT better than the stock OS i had alot issues running different games until I tried 1.0.8 from last week
For the price of these it's just better to get a PS Vita (OLED version especially).
The PS Vita cant play GBA games without audio issues, and N64 + Dreamcast is not usable. The 351M is expensive due to the metal shell, you can save $50 and get the 351P and get the same performance.
@@daschewie You can also add a wifi chip to it.
Or a generic low-cost android phone paired with a mounting controller. Will cost about the same (or a little more or less give or take, depending on which phone and controller) but you'll get enough power to cloud game if you want, better performance on everything else, and a larger screen.
@@Pridetoons yes the 351p initially had the WiFi chip, but was removed due to audio distortion. This was later fixed in the 351m. You can use an external usb dongle with the 351p, but I rather just copy files to the sdcard than pay for it.
I want the premium feel of the metal one so i'll pay the extra no problem, fair bit less for the plastic one. You mention also OLED, but does a retro device need it.. The new IPS screens they use are very good. Plus this will probably run more and be less of a headache to setup.

I have the 351P. Not sure this is enough of a upgrade to, at least for me, to justify picking up another one at this moment. Maybe once the price drops or something.
Yeah, it is just a premium metal version. There is no performance upgrade, and the screen is the same. With the 350M, it at least had a better screen than the 350P.
@@daschewie right. I have the original 350 and 350M. I considered the 350M a bit of a upgrade over the original 350. I can’t say the same for the 351M.

Does the PSP section include Crisis Core?
The 350M was a screen upgrade on the 350P. Double the resolution
351P and M have the same lower screen res as the 350P
I was expecting a screen upgrade like they did when they went 350P to 350M.
Also the aspect ratio on the 351 (M and P) is wrong for every game I want to play - reducing the usable screen size still further it I go "1 for 1" pixel OR stretching the game on the horizontal if I use full screen. Ruining the aspect ratio. Why have they done this? Seriously why?
Sticking with my 350M - I'm not going to downgrade to this.

So strange. So I got the RG351M but can only get my WIFI to recognize the guest account. Also there is no WIFI logo in the corner. It is connected as I have an IP address displayed in the network settings...any thoughts?

Hi. Did you find out. One reviewer said it doesn't cone with games in the card, then another reviewer said it normally doesn't come with games on the card but he asked for them to put games on the card?
Mine came with loads preloaded and I added another 90 gig

You can still find them but I can't name sites, just search ps1 roms or gba roms, there's some great sites out there, would have sent a dm but can't find info to send to

Are there any handheld devices that can emulate 3ds and ps vita games altogether? I would like to get one that has two screens like the ds series so that I can actually use the touch screen. Mic would would a plus but not necessary

Just buy a 3DS. Nintendo is the only company that makes two screen handheld devices catered to 3DS games. Or buy a GPD Win 3 and run your emulators accordingly.

How can I save games
you save the game in-game first. Then you select + quit to get back to ES (or L1+R1 if youre on PPSSPP). Then if you want to turn off the system, go through the interface. Don't push the power button to turn the device off.

If you install 351ELEC you can run fba 2012 ,, cps3 games run just fine with that core.
