To my Australian brothers, Thanks for making these great Holden Commodores. Sorry to tell you that all the presses, welding and ancillary machines have now been shipped from your Holden factory in Elizabeth SA to our GM Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly where the new Chevy SS will be built in 2021 with a minor cosmetic makeover from the 2017 model which was built in Australia. In years to come it is possible that these amazing cars will be exported back to Australia from the USA. How mixed up is this? I have driven the Chevy SS and I believe it to be the best 4 door car ever built in the world with its 415hp LS3 V8. Take care.., David Matherson
this is insane, because to us in Australia, the updated version of the chevy ss, or holden vf commodore, was an all wheel drive euro car, with a 6cyl turbo, not exactly appreciated by australians after such a long lineage of strong v8s. this new production hopefully being imported to aus is huge, while not aussie made, still better than the garbage euro stuff offered right now
@@StreetKid247 Sir, The German made Commodore was very well built however it suffered from a lack of power and also a narrow cabin compared to the Australian made Commodore that it replaced. The replacement German made Commodore was losing sales to the cheaper Astra and people were even commenting that the new Astra was a better car. See even though the Australian made Commodore was updated over the years, its design concept successfully blended proven motor/chassis/suspension and steering engineering suitable for long distance driving over rough roads with state of the art safety and parking technology never seen before in a mass produced car. This safety and parking technology was not included in the replacement German made Commodore. GMH also underestimated the patriotism of the Australian public and realized after severe financial losses that their forward planning team failed to increase market share, which nearly lead to the collapse of GMH in the Australian market.
Really like how you explain the differences between models! In about a year when I can afford it I'm looking to buy a 2016 or 2017 model. My question is how long have you had it and how reliable has it been? If I buy one of those models used most likely they'll have some good mileage on them...
Colin Webster I had the car for 2 years and 21k miles on it. It never had a single issue. Regular service every 5k miles was all it needed. The car was as reliable as can be. I wouldn’t worry about mileage unless your trying to buy something over 75k and or modified, bc you don’t know how hard the car has been driven.

Jorge like your videos man! I know you have a camaro ss now? Do you ever miss the chevy ss ? Also question on the chevy ss how does the ventilated seats work good on them? Does it have key less entry too on the chevy ss? Right on man keep up the videos.
Thanks, and sometimes i do but then i get in the camaro and forget all about it lol jk, but yes they are ok nothing crazy, and it does have keyless entry like the camaro.
Hi Jorge 👋🏼. What’s your mpg looking like on one of these? I commute about 45 miles to work round trip 5 days a week. One of these and scatpack are on my top 3 list as well as a Type r for my next new car although the civic is no where near the class of those two haha. Great ss tho. I see a couple once or twice a week as compared to charger
Compa Cheo if you are mostly highway miles it’s around 20-21 but city is around 13-14. I have gotten a combined 17 mpg the time I’ve had it over 21k miles.
Wish you guys had got the Ford Falcon too from this era (also from Australia) Also rear wheel drive and it came with either the 6 speed manual or the wonderful ZF 6 speed sports shift auto ... Best though you either got the 5.0 V8 but supercharged from the factory , the insane 4 litre Australian built DOHC 24 valve full VCT inline 6 either Turbo or N/A.. They were amazing .. America would have loved them . Built until late 2016 .. This Holden Commodore/Chevy SS was great too of course ..
This is the only car I’ve had pull on me while on my bike lol things a monster, took me a couple times to actually figure out it wasn’t a impala SS lol
It’s been two years, I wonder if you are still in the hunt for it. It’s becoming very rare. Here in Australia you don’t see much V8 commodore’s. There are plenty of v6 commodore’s.
I’m really considering buying one. I had a 5.0 mustang that was FBO with full exhaust and it was cool. I sold it for a stinger gt which is surprisingly quick , a lot of fun, and really well loaded. It’s only got 5k miles on it but I have an opportunity to sell it without taking a loss. They’re pricey and high 30s used. Worth it? As far as quality of interior? If I’m paying nearly 40k I’d expect it to be comfy and have a good package. The Kia has heated and cooled seats, wireless charging port, full nav, and tons of other things.
Chevy know what theyre doing to make their exhausts crackle and pop like crazy. Goodness. This, the zl1 camaro of all years, and the 2020 camaro ss with the active exhaust just pop and crackle so much, you'd think they be doing drive-bys all the time
ONE Question Why do you Have Those Ugly Black wheels on it would look allot Better with some nice silver or Chrome wheels. Not trying to be Mean but they Ruin its looks!
@@perknowitzki7158 There are only 2 G8's that are rare. The GXP, and the super rare GXP manual. So if I were you I would go for a SS in manual. You can get a more up to date car, and it will still be rare.
@@dat_azn_guy9247 No none at all, I just couldnt justify paying so much for a car that i drove only 20 miles a week to go to work. I have a 2019 camaro ss also which is my fast/play car.
It looks so good in that white and black combo 😍
5 things he likes, starts at 9:40
Got my Camaro now I gotta get wifey THIS bad Beasty. Outstanding
John Ace the SS sedan is an awesome car, I wish I could afford to have both the camaro and the SS haha
Exactly what the wife and I have. Camaro SS for me SS for her.
That magnetic ride was an amazing idea by GM
Yes the magride is very good and you can actually tell a difference!
I wished they kept this thing going with the alpha chasis, the lt1 engine, and the 10 speed with active exhaust. Id get it over the charger
Hell yeah man that would have been awesome!

Saw one in Stafford for sale 100k miles for 24k lol laughable they are very expensive still
Luis Villa yeah that’s what happens when you get a “limited” car lol they didn’t make a lot of them so they hold their value
Only 8500 came over

Would you prefer Chevy ss over Cts-v 2011 if you get almost the same price!?
Yes, the SS has a much nicer interior, and power wise, you can do an lsa blower for reasonably cheap around 5k
car is amazing bro ... you make me want to get one so bad 🤣🤣
Wondering how do insurance consider this car? A sedan or a sports car?
King PrettyFlacko sedan paid 120 a month for full coverage
Jorge's Vlog that’s badass! I know you sold it but I’m looking for a g8 gt or wondering if I should go with the SS
