    had this heater years ago when i was a kid, loved the noises and smell it used to make. made me feel so cozy at home during the winter.

      Ah yes, carcinogens have some of the neatest smells....reminds me of the mothballs that my mother used to put in the cedar chest... Or the 2-4D that my dad sprayed just outside my bedroom window. They both died of cancer...and I had a near death experience as well!

    I just rented my very first place and this is the only source of heat in the entire place. I noticed the dial on it and assumed it was just one of the ways of to change the heat, but I'm actually glad to know it's a timer and this actually helped me out a lot.

    Many thanks for describing this type of timer. Makes you wonder why manufacturers make these so difficult to understand when instruction book is not available! 🙈

    Hahah, the heater I was trying to figure out doesn't even have a brand name on it. Turns out- the timers are on when they're on the outside, and off on the inside! Thought the damn thing was broken for a good while, why the hell is this such an unnecessarily complicated mechanism?

    Hi Mark, or other users,
    I got the exactly same model DeLonghi dragon3. I just wonder that my unit is constantly making “Buzzing noise or electricity current noise”. That’s very annoying and even louder i switch to high temperature.
    Does it happen to your unit too? Or anyone have a clue how to fix the problem.
    It just making difficult to sleep at night.
    I have another model from DeLonghi which is working perfectly without the buzzing noise.

    • @markyboyclark
      @markyboyclark  3 роки тому

      Hi Pal. My hearing is not that good but I don't think mine makes much buzzing noise but if they are drawing lots of electricity that would happen.

    My building heater at work broke so we found this heater in the back. Ours must have been an older version than in this video because there wasn’t the timer icon on that dial. Just the numbers and the red switches.
    The numbers 1-24 are the only indication that it was a timer, but I didn’t put that together until watching your video so thank you. I do feel obliged to vent my frustration and say - what a poorly designed hunk of useless shit

    You pointed at 13 on the timer and said it is midnight. That is actually 1pm (1 o'clock afternoon). Midnight is 24.

    • @designertjp-utube
      @designertjp-utube 4 роки тому

      Hi Adam! It took me months to fully understand my Delonghi *Magnum* Oil Heater. The Timer on that older unit does not have a little switch on the Timer to leave it *constantly* *on* . Try "bouncing" Mark Clark's Superb detail video here with an Elizabeth Montgomery *Bewitched* "Know it all" Music Video of a DeLonghi Heater that's less than 34 seconds - ua-cam.com/video/tgDYHu9T6Vs/v-deo.html - to get *_the_*_ _*_gist_* of what's going on over-all.

    I must have an older model but every small space heater I’ve gotten just stopped working while this super old thing we’ve had as long as I’ve been alive basically (28 years) I never understood the damn dial but it being a timer makes SO much more sense. I had zero clue how it worked so when it would be like ice cold I was like “what happened” 🫠😂
