The Panasonic gh5 does 180fps in 1080p at amazing quality considering the frame rate. It's a micro 4/3 sensor camera and the gh5s does 1080p240fps, at very low bitrates. The 180fps has great bitrates I think maybe 200 Mb/s.

Great video! Noticed there are none for Canon? Looks like Sony is the winner when it comes to offering slow motion at 1080p? Looking at buying the Sony a6400 and doing my research.
That Lumix is really looking good, however the 1" sensor is a bit small for my liking as an overall video camera because I will not be shooting slow motion all the time.
I think they're great, not too much of a fan of the camcorder style cameras simply because you cannot interchange the lenses, however, I see that those cameras you mentioned have 1" sensors which aren't too bad. ultimately I'd still go with a mirrorless camera though, just because of the larger sensor and lens options.
Thanks for video. I would like to know what s your opinion about the 120 fps quality of the cameras you mentioned. Can they be used for professional purposes?
I came here wondering if there is a camera in my budget ($500) that can capture the image of a golf ball being compressed against a 7 iron. Or? Pointing a camera on the finish line and capturing the winner by a nose. Or? Capturing the slow motion flight of all these humming birds by my house. Or? Looking to catch a lightning bolt on video in slow mo.
Check out the Yi 4k, same specs as the GoPro, but at a cheaper price. Many even prefer the quality. Also, the Yi 4k+. Hero5 price point but will film 4k at 60fps.
Christoffer Lund I own both the Hero5 black and the Yi 4k and I can tell you that both the battery and screen are better on the Yi. my hero 4 would get about an hour and a half battery life, the Hero5 gets about 2 hours and the Yi 4k around 2 and a half. Some may like the menu of the GoPro better, though I prefer the Yi and the screen is more responsive.
Christoffer Lund I'd watch a few more reviews then, most back up what I'm saying. at least all the ones I've watched. I'm curious as to who got different results??
Hi. I want to buy high speed camera to monitor high speed machine moving parts. So i want a high fps camera with good recording time. Any recommendations.. also recommend budget cameras
I would say Chronos 1.4 or 2.1 and fps1000 or fps4000 - Real slow-motion cameras which reach 1000fps and even more for 2.000 till 6.000 USD. Compared to a AOS, Phantom, Fasttec, ... Slow Motion camera which start with there entry-level models between 14.000 USD and 25.000 USD a real bargin! In that case is even 720p upscaled to 1080p quite useable. Have a look for the SlowMoGuys - there > 100.000 USD Phantoms also mostly don't record in 1080p - check the specs of the cameras and the framerates they use and you see what resolution has there footage.
There were few points here that doesn't match real facts. a6300 & a6500 is not capable of 120fps at 1080p. You probably just saw that somewhere inaccurate specs list without trying it in the field. However, if you start recording, it automatically reduce its reso down to 720p. So technically, it can only shoot 120fps at 720p. I've been using those units for weddings & still hoping for a release that at least can shoot real 240fps at 1080p for my ring shots slomo.
That is incorrect, I've owned both cameras including the RX100 line. They can all shoot 120 fps or 100fps at 1080p depending on whether you're on PAL/NTSC mode.
Well, that's what the camera would tell you in the settings because a6300 doesn't actually have a shooting setting of 720p. What I am referring is the real quality of 1080p not just the frame size. If you shoot using the settings of 60fps at 1080p you will get real 1080p quality for sure, but once you go up to 120fps at 1080p settings you will notice that frame is being cropped automatically down to 720p so you're not getting the real 720p quality after all. Basically, you're just getting a 720p quality being stretched in 1080p sized frame. See it for your self before you say my statement is incorrect, shoot & bring it to post or even not to post, it's drastically obvious on your LCD screen upon shooting. I guess you don't know your a6300 that well buddy. Peace up;)
Though faster is better, but You can start by getting about 1000 fps. Here a few examples and if you have a project to do or need to put hand on one, without breaking a bank, you may consider renting one for about $575 per week, shipped to your door (That is one excellent option from a very reputable company): It gives you maximum Frame Rates As Fast As 38,565fps (at reduced resolution).
