Why Moroccans Love Clay-Pot Tangia, ft. Abir
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 тра 2024
- Tangia is a dish that originally gets its name from a tall, urn-like clay pot. Not to be confused with tagine-another type of cooking vessel-it’s a rich meat-based dish local to Marrakech, and served with a side of bread or couscous. It originated as an outdoor food that was historically cooked in ashes underground. Insider’s Medha Imam heads out to Nomad in the East Village with Abir, a Moroccan American artist, to try out tangia with a side of couscous, see how the iconic dish is made in present-day and learn why it's culturally significant.

Tangia it's what's for dinner
This is like barbacoa de hoyo un Mexico
Middle Eastern immigrants who came to Mexico brought that with them.
@@bobjames8936 oo wow that's awesome :D I didn't know that
@@bobjames8936 Morocco isn't middle eastern country but maghrebian country and the peoples that came to Mexico are not moroccans but middle eastern levantine (Palestinians, syrians, Lebanese) and their food is totally differents from moroccan food, if Mexico get something similar to moroccan food its coming from Spanish cuz spanish and moroccans are neighboring countries and have a big history in common ( there is moroccan influences in Spain and there is also spanish influences in Morocco).
I think Moroccan Hamam is diffrent from Turkish Hamam
she said turkish and moorish
moorish means moroccan cz we are the moors
It's different. But I'm the scheme of things it's more similar than different.
People know Turkish baths.
Moroccan Hammam appeared in Morocco before Ottoman Empire rised /appeared in 13th century .. means Moroccan hammam (older Hanan in the world was in aghmat 11th century Marrakesh) is older than Ottoman Empire by 200 years
@@susucalm tnx for the informations.....
I would honestly be surprised if they interview this correctly

Morrocan food is the best
Nihari is the best too
Yup I love pot roast no matter how it's made
Patrick Andre Well, this existed way before pot roast, so you should probably call it tagina from now on.
Hold up... Is that the same kid who did that Texas BBQ piece? The one who didn't even try the BBQ?
There are two kind of Tenjias : The real one you have it in Marrakesh and then there is the other one ( that has nothing to do with Tenjia )
Cheap Cuts .. 2 Bucks ... Saffron ... 100 bucks.... 'But we saved on the meat' lol... I still want some though...
