Hey just want to say that actually working 9-5 isn't so bad depends on where u work & the type of job u do. Not everyone got to do the job that they passionate about. I used to be like u, being jobless for years & couldn't see myself being like those people who woke up early morning for work. Even quit my previous job cos it gave me depression. 10 years had passed I'm working 9-5 again & it is actually wasn't so bad. I finally understood that the world doesn't revolved around me & all the hardship help me become more resilience.

Hearing such an open and honest take about the way our lives are supposed to be structured is honestly so refreshing. It seems easier to just go through the motions and learn to be okay with it, but eventually, that just becomes mentally taxing. I think many people (myself included) are content with where they are & believe that wanting more out of life is unrealistic. Hopefully, we can get to a point in time where people become less willing to conform to societal standards and instead feel encouraged to carve their own path.

Thank you for making this video, I deeply resonated with it. I'm 21 and I hate attending college. But all my parents want is me to get a paper. They say I can do whatever I want once I get a paper. I had to drop out college after 2,5 years due to mental health issues. Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience. I've recently figured out this stuff too, i'm turning 28 in 4 months. Sometimes I still feel like a fuck up because I didn't even finish high school, but i could never "fit in" so it was hard. As you've shared your advice let me tell you just one thing. Try not to "be pissed" because you didn't figure your way out earlier. All these years made you who you are and that's very important, it's not wasted time. Also you're beautiful. Sometimes is a double sharped blade but even if it's a little sad a lot of people decide to stay and hear you out because of your looks, so it's something that has power and makes a difference in the mind. I know it's kind of superficial but it's also an advantage somehow. Maybe it's what also has driven me to write this, instead of just give it a like and go on. I took this risk without any other clear backup plan. I also had loads of money stolen by my MMA coach that I am suing him for on a shoestring budget, and got smacked in the face with a couple thousand grand student loan a few months ago. I'm facing so much pressure from my mother and other relatives to get another job for the stability, and it is truly STRESSFUL! I think the better one does in institutions, the more one expects ones life to be rewarded by them. This worked for our parents generation, but for us we have to be exceptionally luck to benefit from schools, universities and conventional employment in the same way. Its really hard to have self worth when the world is still built on thsi old and dying form of capitalism. I think finding self worth outside of these conventional structures is the only way forward. Hard to to do, but rewarding when you find the thing that makes you feel alive.

Same position as you, now about to turn 30 - I'll be moving out again this year but with room mates again.... This society is truly fucked. They sold us out to the rich who bought everything up. It's literally like joining a game of monopoly near the end. Also, I was awake from EARLY on, like 13-14 years old. I still ended up in this situation. I'm sat on more than most, and I haven't given up / working on my own things on the side. But yeah, being aware is one thing, getting out is another. If anything the awareness just made it way more painful.
@@mattchongunfiltered Yeah I did, but things don't always go to plan. I was also aware that I was ignorant. On top of that, I was aware that I didn't know what I didn't know. The internet wasn't the same back then (like 2009 - 2012). There wasn't such an abundance of useful information. Learning WHAT to learn took a while, and the learning itself too. I also developed detrimental habits at that age through repeating things the wrong way. Practise can make perfect but if you're practising wrong, you're just digging a hole. Just to even come full circle and realise what I had done wrong took me until like 21 and then some years after to undo. On the upside, it put me through a lot of personal growth and I believe I'm set up / have a lot of potential that i'm trying to actualise now. But the environment keeps getting harder. Wrote a damn novel here, but 🤷♂

money is the price they pay you to forget about yourself. I spent thousands on dumb stuff at your age. I was feeling exactly like you at your age, so one-day I flipped the script while building physical skills. I invested a few thousand on building my first small home project, best investment ever is you, your skill set. the most successful people never went to school, they learnt skills to make their own stuff. your lucky your still young and got no children, that's when your really stuck. be positive about your present, chasing money never brings happiness, but investing in useful physical skills does. I even learnt how to make my own medicines, creams and oil based purfumes, healthy ones.. my next project is making clothes from flax, because its the healthiest fibre for the body, clothes these days are made of plastic and chemical dyes, I'm gonna save a lot of money that I don't have, and be healthier for it...

If you don’t see the problem with someone selling food at school, it’s a sign you’re missing some key analytical reasoning. Imagine if the food were contaminated, tainted, or caused an allergic reaction. The school could face serious legal consequences for allowing such sales on its premises. The ban isn’t about shutting down entrepreneurship-it’s about mitigating liability risks.
@@raf952 the food was all sealed within packaging. There’s no more risk than someone buying something from the school shop or from Tesco. It’s a sign you’re missing some key analytical reasoning ☑️
I am 26, pretty much in the same position. I kind of figured it out. I decided to start a small business with something I am passionate about (skincare) and just start selling oils, and things like that. With the internet it is alot easier to make money as opposed to pre-internet days. You were able to reach 6,500 people with the video. If you start selling a product you can turn those people into customers. The most important thing is to hustle, you have to post everyday. The best way to reach people is by doing lives, you can educate them about your product while they are watching. Find something your a passionate about, this took a long time for me but at the end I noticed I was always interested in skin care. There are so many things you can sell, if you can afford a physical product, create digital products like online courses, digital planners, stock photos/vidoes, vlogs, informational videos or blogs. Keep pushing your content, direct traffic to your sites, ask people to like and subscribe, you will actually get more subscribers if you ask. Good luck!
I've learned that I can still work over 80 years of age and no need to look through my father's pocket retirement. Like gaining hope from auctions to gain hope for the writing test

The times are not that different. The only thing different now is that people your age don't want to work hard to get where you want to be. Stop crying about your being broke or your situation. The thing that is didfferent now is you see these people on instagram doing these things and it makes you envy their lives. Most people your age, even in the baby boomer generation, did not have the money to by a house or do a lot of things you say you want to do. No one is going to give you anything. You have to go out and make your own opportunities to get what you want legally.
Exactly. I have to go and take what I want legally. Unfortunately, a 9-5 job alone doesn't do that, which is why I am doing what I am doing. Thanks for your comment :)
Your comment is coming from a place of ignorance. Over the last 50 years, house prices and the CPI has risen dramatically, nominal wages have also, but when adjusted for inflation, wage growth has not kept pace anyway near house prices and cost of living. This is why 50 years ago the average age in the UK to buy a house was 27-28, whereas now it is 33, and even 37 in London. It’s not because of laziness. Things are simply just becoming more expensive and wages are not following adequately. Saying “times are not that different” is so unbelievably bizarre considering the amount of change in all areas of life that has come the last few decades.
You have no idea who you are speaking to. I am speaking from experience. I have a degree in Engineering and doctorate in physics. I started my consulting shortly after getting my degrees. I got a home when I was 28 in the late 90's because I had money saved and got some help from my parents. None of my friends I went to school with were able to afford a home at 28 either in the late 90's. Even before that it was the same. So don't tell me any nonsense about being ignorant. You are ignorant. This guy and others like him come on youtube wasting thier time rather than going out and making their own opportunities. No one is ever going to give you anything. Stop complaining and do something about it. Getting likes on youtube or social media is not the way to make that happen. Unlless he wants to start an onlyfans or something like that. It seems like younger people not just want to be youtube stars or do porn on Onlyfans. That seems to be their aspirations these days.
@@earlr2992 You have brought up your personal achievements and anecdotal examples as if they somehow completely refute my argument, but this is precisely the issue. My point is not about individual effort, it is about the larger economic context. Many studies indicate that real estate prices and the cost of living have risen sharply in the last few decades whilst real wage growth has stagnated, meaning that it is just simply more difficult to reach financial milestones like homeownership, especially in high demand areas. This is not something you can chalk up to laziness. Of course social media has played a role in changing perceptions, but it isn't the root issue. There are many young people who do work hard, often juggling multiple jobs or side hustles to make ends meet. Just because you may not see a lot of that on your social media feeds does not mean it does not exist. There are definitely motivational issues in this generation but it is most definitely more structural, if you look at the data, it's just undeniable. And as you have brought up your achievements, I will share that I am 18 years old, just achieved 4A*s in my A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Economics, and Psychology, and I am currently in a gap year in which I have begun a marketing agency which is already generating around 10k in monthly revenue. This however, will not change my stance on the structural issues we are facing in todays economy, just because I have done very well for myself very quickly does not mean these issues do not exist. I urge you not to look at people's age and life experience and automatically assume they are incorrect or ungrateful because of it, but to consider the actual evidence.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience. I've recently figured out this stuff too, i'm turning 28 in 4 months. Good luck!

Montreal seems so cool. You're so young, do what you love, what fulfils you! Don't let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do.

Hi I'm George I'm unemployed and I live with my parents
@@laurenp4278 hi George
Did the person at your school who was selling snacks at under cut prices become a millionaire ?
@@greendragonspirit1646 I actually don’t know. Probably
you should become a model, try going to scoutings and upload your photos on modelling sites and instagram!
@@aruuu06 hey thank you! I was scouted the end of last year, and I already signed and have been going to castings these past few months haha :)
@@mattchongunfiltered Modeling for men is not a good way to make a living. It does not pay well. It's a crappy life and very unstable and lots of drugs/bad influences. You seem like the type of person who would succumb to those bad influences. Forget about modeling.
@@earlr2992 that’s quite an assumption to make considering you don’t know me at all.
Fair enough though. Each to their own!
@@mattchongunfiltered It's an assumption made from what you are saying about yourself.
@ fair enough I respect that
Dude you’re gorgeous. Use your looks as an advantage, be an interesting personality and look for ways you can serve the people in your life. If I had your looks I would go for an entertainment career as a UA-camr. You have to also have a personality though. You seem defeated and deflated. The old career paths are dead if you don’t come from money, or at least a high middle class background.
Work on your skills, figure out what you’re good at, and use your looks to your advantage without ripping people off and giving them something back in value.
@@SyndroOmCani thanks! Great advice
33 no job still living with my parents 😅
