"No mortal has ever laid eyes on this hideous old god" OBJECTION!! *Slams desk* How can you know it's hideous if you HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY SEEN IT!?! TAKE THAT!!
I like nobbel as well but whats with all the hate towards six gamers? He does a fine job and has some pretty good videos. It makes more sense to get six gamers to do it because he has already dedicated himself to the lore surrounding the hearthstone cards long before hearthstone promoted him. whereas nobbel is just warcraft lore in general.
+bioshockinfintyfan Worse. Cthulhu was just an alarm clock for the stronger Great Old Ones. N'Zoth is on the same level as Nyarlathotep or Hastur probably. It certainly borrows elements from Cthulhu, and I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard said there are stronger Old Gods out there beyond this planet.
+Ian Garland Blizzard has already said, that the race of Old Gods in the warcraft universe, is not limited to those on Azeroth. And they've already confirmed using the Cthulhu myths in the warcraft universe
+mightlife Old Gods in Warcraft universe are heavily inspired by Lovecraft, so the quote isn't wrong. There is a line in the game that says "In The Sunken City, he lays dreaming".
+Artur Orłowski Thanks for your comment Artur, but I didn't say that the quote was 'wrong', just highlighted that it has been lifted, almost directly, from Lovecraft. Being so obviously copied, it must be a direct homage - my mistake for not thinking that before. Cthulhu FTW.
+Keine Lust (M.D.) well, I may have misquoted the phrase, it's just what I remember from 20 years ago when I was into the whole Cthulhu mythos thing. However my misquote does not make the fact that the one in question is an almost direct lift from the original, which you correctly cited. Don't forget, the Necronomicon is an almost religious text, and we all know how they can be misinterpreted ;)
He is gonna be a card? ! Awesome! I think blizzard should make a patch entirely for this god due to his dominating power compared to C'Thun and Yogg-Saron.
So N'Zoth is possibly responsible for transforming Nefarian into Deathwing and Azhara along with her servants into the Naga? It's amazing what you learn about WoW just playing hearthstone, even if you don't play WoW! :)
Sylvanas Windrunner oh, my bad. I guess I should have known since Onyxia calls herself "The daughter of Deathwing" when you summon her and during the final boss battle against Nefarian he calls Onyxia his sister :P
The new chronicle book which is designed to make all this lore more well rounded and air tight to fan speculation. Alot of what was said in this video is wrong. The old gods we created by void lords to corrupt worlds containing titan lore. they worked together to bend the elemental lords to their will. they also were not fighting each other. they were systematically defeated by the titan keepers not the titans. *except for Ysarajj* he was plucked from the surface of the planet by the titan aggrama. Also Yogg soron created the emerald nightmare when he corrupted the world tree in northrend
+Llewellyn Humphreys Yeah the idea that the old gods could pose a threat to Titans directly if they had united is disproven now that Chronicles states one of the Titans got impatient with the keepers and popped the strongest old god like a zit.
I dont think Blizzard (Company who made World of Warcraft) would do/upload such a wrong video if it was actualy that wrong.... but I guess everyone has his own view of sight :) why cant guys not just enjoy it?....
+Rena Storm Well first this is a Hearthstone channel, not the official WoW channel. I mean, Blizzard is a huge company and there must be hundreds of teams within. So Hearthstone CMs may not be the best experts in Warcraft lore. No offense but they're just CMs, not game designers or writers.
won1853 but they are part of it, setting up wrong content would be a to huge mistake i dont think they dont talk with the other Group who is involved to WOW if its content they can upload. You cant do what you want in a company like Blizzard thats a fact.
Correction, it wasn't N'zoth who created the Emerald Nightmare, World of Warcraft Chronicles pag 124 states : "(...) Although killing Andrassil has been a heartbreaking task, the Cenarion Circle was pleased it had stopped the growth of saronite. Yet unbeknownst to the druids, something dark had taken root in the Emerald Dream. Yogg-Saron had used the trees planted by Fandral as a doorway into the Dream - a doorway through which the other Old Gods could grasp the ethereal domain as well. Small seeds of corruption were spread throughout Ysera's realm. In time, these seeds polluted the dreamways. This marked the beginning of what would become known as the Emerald Nightmare."
yeah but HearthStone (Blizzard>WOW) uploaded it so i dont think its that wrong?! why should it be wrong anyways. could you people just enjoy the video? nope? God dammit......
Rena Storm it is wrong, because this "lie" is being spread throught the internet because of this video. World of Warcraft Chronicles is the official version of the lore, anything that goes agaisn't it is wrong and a lie. I wouldn't care less for this error if it wasn't being retold over and over through the internet
Vitor Oliveira okay i guess blizzards own story is complete garbage than..... thanks you noticed. *ironie off* Why should they make this huge of mistakes? Doesnt even make sense, now enjoy the freaking thing or go to WoW xD
This is your best video yet. You are more coherent and better paced than in your other videos. Did you also get help from Blizzard with the on-point art? It also seems to match the story better. Keep it up.
So there's one little part of this that doesn't quite add up. When the titans came to Azeroth and imprisoned the old gods, Azeroth still only had one continent (because, ya know, the sundering hadn't happened yet). Where N'Zoth's influence and potential location appear to be are in a region of the ocean that was not an ocean when he was imprisoned. When the sundering happened, a lot of landmass was destroyed that resulted in how the continents and ocean are currently arranged. What I'm getting at here is that N'Zoth might be sleeping, but I seriously doubt he's imprisoned still.
I am asking this out of curiosity. What's your opinion on Nzoth, do you think this card is way too strong? It seems like decks build around this card can beat anything if Nzoth hits the board and there are not many cards which can actually give you the tempo / board control back. Having Sylvana, tirion or any other strong deathrattle card back like this is pretty strong. It is currently one of the main cards I lose too in case the match comes to late game and most of the time I am ending up into late game because control decks are the main decks Im playing.
So I guess we aren't considered mortals then, since we can see him clear as day in the picture featured in the video, I'm guessing the audio for this was recorded before the artwork for N'Zoth was revealed :P
Hey if anyone could answer my question that'd be great. I'm tempted to start playing Hearthstone again because I didn't really play it for very long the first time I tried it and I want to give it another shot. My question is: how exactly does matchmaking work? Does it actually place you against a "worthy opponent"? And if so, does this mean that if you were to lose a bunch of games, you would eventually play against progressively easier players?
+Ausar0 Hope this answers your question: 1. Matchmaking in Hearthstone is known as Ranked play. You start off at Rank 25 (the lowest), but you can increase your rank by earning stars, going from Rank 25, to 24, to 23, and so on; lower numbers correspond higher ranks. Every time you win a match, you earn a star, and every time you lose a match, you lose a star. However, you do not lose stars as a result of losing until you are Rank 20. Also, you get bonus stars for win streaks. 2. You will always be matched with players with a similar rank. For instance, if you are Rank 17, you will only face players who are Rank 16, 17 and 18. On average, you will face "worthy opponents." 3. If you lose a bunch of games, you simply decrease in rank. In general, you face easier players at lower ranks.
Dennis Chiu Since when is ranked the only way to play with other people? I'm not talking about ranked. Ranked is pretty self explanatory on how it works.
Ausar0 Well, I'm sorry; you mentioned "losing a bunch of games," so I could only assume you meant Ranked. If you were talking about Casual and Tavern Brawl, they do not account for your losses when matching you with other players, whereas Arena matches you based on your win/loss ratio. In any case, I agree with MalloonTarka; you're probably better off studying up on your own. Still, I might have been able to offer a more adequate explanation if you were to specify what aspect of matchmaking you would like explained.
"The true gods of Earth existed long before our ancestors crawled mindless upon the shore. Yog Sothoth, Shub Niggurath, Nyarlathotep insatiate, tenebrous monsters, whose ultimate throne is Chaos. Greatest of all is he called Cthulhu. Only in ancient, blasphemous manuscripts can that name be found and those who decipher it are left pale and numb, aware that in the very act of decipherment they have become both pawn and prey of an ultra worldly power that renders human existence both tenuous and trite. The Old Ones were, the Old Ones are, and the Old Ones shall remain long after they have devoured us."
"In the sunken city, he lays dreaming". He could also be reffering to both N'Zoth and Azeroth World-Soul. Maybe N'zoth completely devoured the World Soul, thus his power.
+Sylvanas Windrunner Slight error: It actually summons friendly Deathrattle minions. Here's the exact text: N'Zoth the Corruptor 10 Mana 5/7 Battlecry: Summon your Deathrattle minions that died this game.
I hope if they do put yogg-saron in that they use the same card that fulla made which was a 10 mana 8/12 at the end of your turn all minions attack a random character
Anyone who loves this should goand read Lovecraft. Warcraft took this out of his horror stories about Chtulhu and yog sothoth. The stories are old but pretty epic
as a hearthstone and heroes of the storm player, there are a LOT of heroes waiting to be in HotS, like leper gnome or magma rager (jokes) recommend other good heroes :D
It's just speculation, not lore. I wish Blizz would fill out the lore on both N'Zoth and Y'Shaarj in a book or comic or something, because speculation is stupid imo. And leaving gaping holes in the Warcraft lore isn't cool :(
I've got the 1st Volume of the Chronicles (although I haven't finished reading it), but I haven't read anything regarding N'Zoth yet, although I certainly hope they did a whole page on him hopefully.. Will give feedback once I've read it (and maybe I'll even do a vid on it). Ty for the info
LFP Gaming eh a lot of people really like speculating, especially when it comes to the old gods who pull the strings behind a lot of things going on in azeroth. speculation for these characters makes sense. i don't need any characterization for them. they are gods of death and chaos, more of a force of nature than anything else. i want to know as little as possible here before truly facing them. for every scary enemy in fiction the same rule always applies: whatever your mind can make up and gather from tiny strings of information is way scarier than anything a writer can come up with.
I could be wrong, but I thought the Emerald Dream was Azeroth without any of the "civilized" races (Humans, Orcs, Gnolls, Trolls, Ogres, Murlocs). I though flora and fauna were still present though.
Man you need to update your lore, with the new chronicles book, Aman thul was able to kill Y'shaarj easily, but the only reason he didnt do it for the others was because what they left poisoned the world soul
Nice vid, but titan>old god, in the new chronicles titan single-handedly pulled Y'shaarj(the most powerful of the old gods) from the face of Azeroth like tiny bug.
One problem with this video.... almost all the lore in this video is now invalid with the new book. The titans no longer Went to earth they where more like the generals Telling people what to do. also the old gods are now really really weak compered to the titans and burning legion...... So the strongest Old god y'shaarj who Apparently killed a titan didnt..... a single titan killed him by crushing him. Also I think ive read some where that its now another old god who Corrupted Deathwing... Cant remember where though.
+Generation7 lol he mentions that the titan only succeeded because of the infighting but in the new book it mentions that old gods are way less powerful than titans
he is not a part of the Hearthstone community so its obvious that Blizzard doesnt want him to do these videos. 6gamers and Toast are the only ones that can do this kind of videos since they belong to the HS community.
"No mortal has ever laid eyes on this hideous old god"
OBJECTION!!
*Slams desk* How can you know it's hideous if you HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY SEEN IT!?!
TAKE THAT!!
HOLD IT!!
Yogg'Saron's Puzzle Box said it! And an old god and his box are not mortal!
+Ginger Dwarf they are all hideous
Hes immortal. Checkmate
+Ginger Dwarf
I don't see why you have to be a "mortal" to deem something hideous
+Nr2reaper That's not the point. The fact is that no one has ever seen him, so how can they know he is hideous.
toast: *heavy breathing*
So cool seeing Six Gamers getting the attention they deserve
Toast, they're taking your job, do something!
Toast is still better at this :)
+Krysia Łatwa Also Nobble (wawplayer)
I personally think that this guy is better
Speaking gives it a more detailed and felt video
+Krysia Łatwa I bet a wall would prevent this guys from stealing his job... uhm... an internet walll... a firewall? #makeAVGgreatagain
I like nobbel as well but whats with all the hate towards six gamers? He does a fine job and has some pretty good videos. "in the sunken city he lays dreaming"
so N'Zoth is basically the Warcraft version of Cthulhu.

+Corvintus Oh my point was to more link it back to say that N'Zoth could be an alarm clock or beacon for even bigger threats in the Warcraft universe.
Ian Garland Ah ye, of course.
YOU MADE IT 6GAMERS
Ikr?! Everyone is shouting "where's *insert name here*?" and I'm here cheating for 6Gamers :3

god damit you got me again. this isnt nobel! nobels vid would be at least half an hour!
+breaky92 SixGamers' average video is way beyond half an hour as well, but it is probably Blizzard which asked him to do short videos.
+MAXedTV true
He is gonna be a card? ! Awesome! I think blizzard should make a patch entirely for this god due to his dominating power compared to C'Thun and Yogg-Saron.

Amazing how they FINALLY reveal N'Zoth's design after we've known and wondered about him since Cataclysm, yet they reveal it in Hearthstone.
The link to the Six Gamers channel is broken.

earthalion, not nefarian, was deathwing's name
I think it's Amazing card
N'zoth was the 2nd old god that got pwned by the Titans.
The Dark Below seem to be next after legion. or Eye of Azshara. Both will introduce that dude.
Eye of Azshara is a Legion Dungeon :)
Madabito Uchiha yeah, and also a Trademark in november 2014, which was trademarked AFTER The Dark Below
Something is wrong with the playlist link in the description, dont know if its just me or if the link is wrong.

what are the stats and card text of n'zoth
+Harrison Powell No one knows yet
10 Mana 5/7 Ressurrect all Battlecry minions that died this game. :D
+Sylvanas Windrunner Slight error: It actually summons friendly Deathrattle minions. Here's the exact text:
N'Zoth the Corruptor
10 Mana 5/7
Battlecry: Summon your Deathrattle minions that died this game.
"No mortal has ever laid eyes on this hideous old god"
So this means that his real name is ...
JOHN CENA!
zarakis bankai will make him fully trancendant and he will become a child again.
"No mortal has ever laid eyes on this hideous old god"
Oh my god, I'm immortal?! Yay~
+Fox in Sox You are not in the Warcraft universe.
I hope if they do put yogg-saron in that they use the same card that fulla made which was a 10 mana 8/12 at the end of your turn all minions attack a random character
All the "Old Gods" lore in WoW is based on the classic
Cthulhu Mythos tales of H. P. Lovecraft (1890-1937).
Credit where credit is due.
Don't give us a glimpse at the lore, give us a glimpse at the card. :D
Anyone who loves this should goand read Lovecraft. Warcraft took this out of his horror stories about Chtulhu and yog sothoth. The stories are old but pretty epic
as a hearthstone and heroes of the storm player, there are a LOT of heroes waiting to be in HotS, like leper gnome or magma rager (jokes) recommend other good heroes :D
it's funny because this video came out after the release of the Chronicles, uses images of the book, but it's outdated in it's lore.
It is outdated in "it is" lore?
sorry, i'm brazilian. I meant that the lore on this video is outdated.
Are those red things his eyes? Is his skull a mouth??
Pretty sure it's his eyes.

Hire Nobbel for this videos, please!!!
No Diablo lore!(Except from HotS)You lied to us!
This thing is broken
Six gamer is better than toast lore wise
+CandyBuzzBomb Might be but the true ruler of lore is Nobbel.Nobbel is love,Nobbel is life.
+IamSurfy nobbel "The LoreMaster"
Is this me.. or does this Editing REALLY REALLY look like Nobbels Editing style? No offense but wtf?
+NeoChromer hello and welcome
Happy hearthstoning haaHA
Where is Nobbel! We want Nobbel!
he is not a part of the Hearthstone community so its obvious that Blizzard doesnt want him to do these videos. 6gamers and Toast are the only ones that can do this kind of videos since they belong to the HS community.
he still has his job??? better hire nobbel or toast
Meanwhile you got Ragnaros the Lightlord.
xD lore :D:D: xD
H P Lovecraft
HOW DARE YOU BLIZZARD! HOW DARE YOU MAKE A LORE VIDEO WITHOUT HIRING THE LORE MASTER NOBBEL TO NARRATE IT
because, whoever that guy is, its not part of the Hearthstone community, unlike 6gamers. Kinda obvious.
Too bad a hunter and his big rifle can battlecry it off the battlefield
Yewww, six gamers!! xDDD
All these people asking for nobel smh....
Nice series...but Nobbel still does it better.
I'm just sayin'...
o que é ''lore'' Brs
+MrGaro910 História, conto, o que vem de base para o jogo.
thx ^-^
I hate that voice
Disguised toast did it first
Lore is outdated, haven't you read chronicles? Don't take all of this for truth, quite a lot of it appears not to be the way it is described
how about this guy learns how to pronounce n'zoth correctly before making a video about it
