Ibanez made some fantastic guitars. Especially those in their Pro Class made from 1976 -1982. I own one from 1979 and I have played it so much, to use a Norman's Rare Guitar selling feature, it has LOTS of Love and plenty of Vibe! Finish is checked, the Gold is mostly worn off, the Frets have been replaced, and the Electronics need some work. It resembles its "well Loved" Happy Owner.
I can’t get over how good the shit Lemmo comes up with is. He captured the sound of this guitar perfectly, i knew he was gonna bring out some of that “smooth jazz” vibe.
People still don’t really associate Ibanez with this style of guitar. But for the most part, Ibanez do make stellar guitars. A college I used to work at as a tech, had some old Ibanez ES looking models. Thinking about it now leads me to think they were very rare. Another great video.
I saw George Benson play in a little club on the lower east side in NYC back in the 70s with Earl Klugh as second fiddle....the place was called the Jazz Boat.....a real hole in the wall..... McCoy Tyner on piano Ron Carter on bass Me and a friend were the only white people in the place ....got some very interesting looks walking in......this was well before he hit it big..... I remember them all tuning up and as soon as they heard they were all in tune they broke into their first number......without anyone saying a word......
Lemmo and this channel have introduced me to so much awesome music and so many great people. Henny, Tomo, Lemmo, and now George Benson. Holy crap have I been missing missing out! Thanks so much for everything. You guys are awesome!

Very nice. Play clean more often, even with solid bodies. It really shows off how they sound, rather than what a pedal or saturated tubes sound like. Plus, you are just that good. You da man Lemmo.
Ibanez jazz boxes play and sound great. I own a late 1980's GB-10, made in Japan. After a few weeks of playing it I sold my 1979 Gibson ES-175 because the Benson is a much better guitar.
@@pritchettdan And if you are a good value for $$$ shopper the Ibanez GB-10 is a relatively bargain price for a solid spruce actual carved top guitar. Especially for a mint condition used one. Has a competitive price against other makers of laminated maple top jazz boxes.
How do you like artcore I snoozed on a nice cherry red one on offer up for 150!!!!! I felt it was too good to be true but I’m interested in some sort of hollow/semi hollow axe point me in the affordable direction haha (I own squiers / epiphones)
@@brickdinero5468 I had an af75. A good set-up and swap out bone nut all for about 150 extra and it was a dream to play w/huge tone and no feedback issues.
In the late 70s/early 80s Ibanez was using a binding that crumbled over time in some guitars. I have a 1980 PS10 I got for a great deal because much of the binding crumbled off. Still a great guitar. I love the Japanese stuff
I have one of these! It came with Super ‘70s humbuckers. I found the neck pickup too woofy for my taste. The build quality on this guitar was better than my ‘01 Gibson ES-295, so I sold that one.
More precisely this is an Ibanez 2455 (ES-175 copy) signed by George Benson. Really nice guitars, with (probably) Maxon-made pickups. The George Benson models came later, and used smaller floating humbuckers a la the Gibson Johnny Smith and many other jazz guitars. Eventually Ibanez did make a GB model very much like the 2455.
I have this same guitar (2455) but with much much better condition on the binding. It's missing the pickguard because it disintegrated, but I have the brackets and screws for it. Plays nice sounds nice. Make me an offer.
Don’t be fooled… This is not an Ibanez George Benson model. George signs lots of guitars. His model is very different. Nice guitar though, and great playing of one of GB’s tunes.
Lemmo could play a shovel with strings and make it sound like a $15k fine guitar (not that this is NOT a fine guitar, it's just a compliment to his playing).
Excellent, but frankly; I am not worthy to own one. I came close when they first came out. But, although I still have a couple of nice Ibanez semi’s, I never took the plunge. And they are way too expensive now
I like It but there again I like early Benson. Have a pair of Japanese made Super 58 humbuckers here waiting to go into something......Almost forgot to say, have a great new year!

Sweet. That must go back a few years.
I've only ever seen GBs with mini-HBs mounted to the guard, Johnny Smith style.
Same, I didn't know they made some of them with HBs.
An Ibanez episode for my birthday? Sweeeet!

This one has regular size humbuckers, instead of the usual GB Ibanez jazz guitar mini humbucker pickups
Anybody know what's the name the song of Benson?
