My 1989 C1500 has a dome light that wont turn off. i replaced the buttons near the doorjams and checked the dome light switch on the dash and everything is off/ working. I was wondering if you could make a video showing diagnosis and replacement of this issue
I was just dealing with this. Seems most places are sold out of the replacement bezels. I ended up taking pc motherboard stand offs, cutting off the threaded section then epoxying them in place of the broken light switch stand offs. Just temporary till I can get the actual bezel replacement. On Ebay people are selling used broken ones for almost $200.
I must of gotten lucky. My LMC replacement was a perfect fit. I have a few still around. There are two versions, one without the air vent is the other.
@@ErnestoMarquez-bm9uc The air vent version came with AC or Heavy Duty heater optioned trucks. Its a forward facing single vent on the left side of the bezel. Non AC, or regular heater options have no vent. I believe the dashes after 94 are a complete redesign. The 80's square design was out, and everything became rounded.
Mine has two corner screws that keep falling out. Dash threads stripped. How do i fix that before i get a new bezel? Are there metal retainer clips behind it?
that little switch that's on the left hand side under the headlight switches... what does that do? i have the same switch but can't seem to notice anything change when i switch it
I've been scouring the net for the 1996-2000 dash replacements and holy cow, you cannot find anything, replacements do not exist and it's pretty frustrating.
Love your channel. So...my son's 1993 Chev S10 Truck, when you leave the front lights on, there is a buzzer. However, on his 1993 Chev Cheyenne 1500, it doesn't buzz when the lights are left on. Any ideas how to fix this?
The buzzer is an add on. Got mine from Radio Shack decades ago. Look on the fuse box for a couple wires coming from a under a fuse. My buzzer is a very small white box.
IIRC (my truck is not here, so I can't go out and check), but there is a a little sound card that plays a tone, and is not a buzzer. I know mine plays this tone when the lights are left on. The sound is triggered by the ignition switch when in the off postion. The column has a long white connector at the middle, or sometimes at the base. Make sure this connector is fully seated, and all the contacts are clean. That's where I would start.
Check on the driver side firewall under the dash behind the emergency brake, you see should a little black box where they would some relays. That black box is the buzzer for door and for the headlights.
Excellent video! Thank you for your work.
Omg buddy thanks for giving us that website, it has anything we need for our trucks, you rock man thank you, thank you, thank you.
@James Brown Glad I could help!
About to start on my 94 k1500 and your videos have been helpfull!

The originals are all so fragile. I would say the aftermarket bezel fit is not awesome, but at least it doesn’t crack when you touch it

What the difference between the two?

Did the LMC bezel come with those three switches installed? Headlights, Cargo, and Dimmer switches? I don't think they come with the switches now.
No it did not. We refused our existing switches.
Any idea what the little red led looking thing is on the middle slot to the right of the cluster? Some sort of indicator light?
That was a light for an old alarm system
What repair manual have you used for past videos?
@Zach Watson Chilton manual

There are not metal retainer clips. I would suggest replacing the colored dash bezel with one that still has screw mounts that are intact.
How’s the quality of the plastic LMC is using for this? Does it feel better quality then our 30 year old plastic?
@Andres Castro Plastic feels pretty similar to the original.
How do you add extra switches to the bezel? I would like to add one for halo lights.
@Jimmy Corbett You can add an extra switch in any of the blank areas

Oh that is the outside light I think that lights up the bed
Do all the switch plates come out or is it just the two ?
All of the switch plates can be removed.

Parts are getting super hard to find!
