I remember when my Aunt and Uncle were in Fukuoka. They didn't know about the Gundam statue when they walked around the city. I remember my uncle said to me that he was so surprised and in awe of the statue, And my aunt sent me pictures of the statue. When I saw the pictures, I asked them if they could buy some gunpla for me, but my uncle said that the prices were too high and said they would go to a different store to buy me a kit. When they got back home from their vacation, my uncle gave me the HGUC Nu Gundam.
Recently built the RG Nu FF myself, but unlike the F00 or Unicorn, I haven't had the privlege of seeing this one in person and have to one day. I gotta make the pilgrimage to get myself a Narrative B-Packs one day, the trip looks so much fun.
I mean, if he still holds onto his childhood crush with pride, that's great for him and all; we shouldn't put him down for it and I'm glad that he still finds enjoyment in that. Personally, I'm more of a fan for her elder sister, since she was one of my first waifus as a lad undergoing mad puberty at the time, as well as being the only reason how I managed to finish watching SEED Destiny at all. Plus, her Gunner Zaku (well, perhaps I should say Gelgoog Menace now) is still a dope design, even today. I've said it a number of times in the past and I might as well say it again; Shinn does not deserve her, she is too good for the likes of him, haha.
I've visited all the statues (well, except for the RX-78 that was already removed when I discovered Gundam) and the Nu Gundam is probably my favorite. I would strongly advise visiting the Freedom Gundam in Shanghai, if you have the chance.
I went to see the statue about 2 years ago and it's definitely breathtaking. Admittedly it's a little underwhelming compared to the Unicorn and I'm still a little annoyed they changed the colour scheme with this Nu variant, but it's still a great sight to behold despite all of that.
The fin funnels on my MG VerKa barely stay on, and that's after I reinforced it with a bunch of magnets. A 1/1 scale Nu Gundam with 1/1 scale fin funnels is a recipe for disaster. But despite the funnels being the most remarkable thing about the Nu, it is still a great design without them. I think the replacement thing (is it a funnel or a cannon?) on the ff is still pretty cool.
will Kakarot be doing a video about the English DUB version of Seed Freedom that have circling anime sites lately? And if these are the OFFICIAL English releases and not just English language over the Japanese Blue Ray/Stream?
I went to Shanghai last week. Freedom Gundam was a must see 😂. On the way I passed by Shanghai Disneyland on my way to the closest train station. The gundam base shop in the mall next to Freedom Gundam was also very tempting. Lots of limited Freedom Gundam gunpla.
Man it is stuff like this that really makes me want to visit Japan one day because now that the RX 78 2 gundam statue is gone, I have to at least see one gundam statue in my life and that presentation of the base Nu gundam looked outstanding. It definitely looked like a great experience and I was surpirised at your self control to not buy a whole lot of stuff at all of the places to buy model kits. Granted you let your love of Meryin control your soul but you did good Kararot lol. That said, really sucked that Suletta was not the 8 prize anymore and yet MIORINE was the most desirable........Those guys have zero taste. Still great to hear that you had an awesome time!
I was lucky enough to get the RG Side F Nu before the restrictions were in place. It's probably one of the few Side F stuff I'll ever get to get anyome...
I wasn't sure it'd be worth the trip over to Fukuoka, and considering how much it would have cost me to get there, I wasn't sure it'd be a daytrip thing either. After seeing the RX-98FF in this video, I should have just sucked up the cost of a hotel room. I did visit Yokohama again, but didn't go all the way to the factory. I did, however, spent way too much money on Gundam Arsenal Base and the Kancolle cabinets in multiple locations (along with me learning how the crane games worked getting my Holo noodle stopper and Rem figure). The Tokyo Gundam Base was reservation only basically the entire time I was there, though, which was an incredible bummer.
Before it's Shutdown I was able to get the Statue 144 version set and thankfully that is the onky one I got to have. If the Pandemic didn't hit there was a small chance I may have gone to Gundam Factory Yokohama but I think after many issues around the world yeah its for the best some tried. It is sad we never tried as fans however got to see that it did so well after many visitors and channged times for closures.
How would the rest of the universal century or at least the one year war play out if romba ral didnt blow himself up and was instead captured by the white base?
I went to fukuoka last year for 1 day, and I can tell you that was too fast lol. I didn't know it will be that far from anything else (4 hours from osaka, 6 hours from tokyo, by bullet train). I ate at 3 ramen places, bought few nu ff kits (because the sazabi one didn't come out yet). if I have time, I will come back again there and explore more of fukuoka, they have so much to offer other than gundam and ramen. btw, I have card for gundam base membership? It is not connected to my bandai namco account though. I got that one in 2017 when they told me if I want to make one or not and I said yes. *edit: ah ok, I just checked it, my cardcard is temporary membership card and I need to register with the card to my bandai namco account to keep my points that is in the card
Word of advice, when it comes to crane game figures. Just buy them second hand in japan. They are usually really cheap (bout less than 12 usd in japan, 20 usd average). There are plenty of 2nd hand shops that have these prize figures. Other than that. I'm jealous you got to there! 😂
Kakarot (or anyone who's familiar), How long does it take to travel from The Gundam Base Fukuoka to Gundam Side-F? Is it a walkable distance, a short public transit ride, or longer? Thanks.
@@durbeshpatel3047 The crane machines that we had at both the arcades that I worked at were percentage based. Yes, there are old mechanical cranes but the new ones are all percentage based. How many cranes have you programmed?

I absolutely loved this vid. It is something speciaç. I want a making of of this post.
It was great to see you in person in Fukuoka. Hope you enjoyed the Hakata Shin ramen. 🍜
Definitely, and until next time!
There has to be a 1:1 Destiny or Force Impulse Gundam hidden somewhere after seeing the 1:1 Freedom cut in half.

of course you would draw your blood for Meyrin, lol.
😂😂😂
To be fair, I know a lot of people who also would do the same.

I'll be in Japan for a month in December. So sad that I missed the moving RX-78. :(
Same here 😢
Now steal it. Go full GATO!
Só amazing, Imagine We could visit A new GFY with lots Of mobile suits statues besides the main Gundam

Yes! Ancient Flower by Kishida Kyoudan and The Akeboshi Rockets. You can find the album on youtube.

Thanks for the video! It was really fun to watch. Hope we get to see more of it 😂
"I won, but I also lost?"
Ahh, yes. Life in a nutshell.
Kakarot197, you're never going to beat the Meyrin accusations at this rate.

What would've been smart is to use the buildings around to prop up the actual fin funnels in action.

Nice Vid :) Congrats on 100k and you are just convincing me to go to Japan even more lol
Thanks for reminding me to get a Gundam Base membership!

Ye La-La port is was a great shop, sadly I do miss the Gundam Front days

I need to check out the cross store next time.

That's insane.

what other anime stores did you visit? mandrake? any suggestion?

Imagine working movable flying funnels, prob 20 years from now

How did you create a japanese BN account for the Gundam Base?
i won those crane games so many times

Hey Kakarot! Talking about Jojo's, have you watched it?

It was like half an hour by bus, and it should drop you off right in front of the Nu Gundam.
Technically, you could walk there, +-1 hour
@@kakarot197 Thanks
ahhh jojo jumpscare
what kind of stratagem that the second prize is the more better price on the eyes of people?😅😅😆😆
Crane games are percentage based.. It's not a skill game.
Thats not true at all lmao. its entirely skill. Sure you might get a bad setup, but you move things around. There are pros on youtube

Dude I flew to Japan to see the RX - 78 - 2 the week before it was scheduled to be taken down. Flying across the same country is nothing.
What do people do with those towels? Just pin them to a wall?
Pretty much, the label even calls them "poster towels"

That's it? That's the only Jojo section? Really
I'm surprised because Jojo is a big name in Japan. Hell, most voice actors I know have something to do with Jojo.
