I know I mentioned this before, but setting limits to clothing (or at least warm clothing) to 125% is a good idea, to have that extra "buffer" if people decide to join just before the winter. You will always be able to sell your surplus to trader.

A few tips. Farms and trees can be outside your walls without issue, building up your cattle and livestock somewhat slowly can be best and having some to provide trade goods can be quite useful, those knowledge murder sprees are VITAL on this difficulty, on hunts pay attention to your micro, be more careful with your tools as missing a key part of food collection can cause you a lot of trouble.
I also found that evenly spreading out my towers along the entire perimeter wall can pull a LOT of aggro. Of course, you should cluster them at your gates, but buying time can be incredibly valuable on this difficulty.

Group all your towers in the center of town and only wall out as far as their attack range. This concentrates your available firepower, saves resources and lowers workload. Just remember to keep all your housing on the inside and your gates facing the correct direction.
That might be a decent mix-max way of going about defense, but it doesn't look pretty =]
@@Rhadamant LOL...It's not min/max per se, it's the basic strategy that led to, and was used by most castles in the real world.
In case you're wondering, the second piece of that puzzle was mound building and pretty much every civilization on the planet used the combination of high ground and centralized defense up until the airplane made high ground moot.
The second phase settlement defense though was palisade walls that were basically undefended and served as a delaying tactic until the populace could get inside the main walls but since you won't outgrow the range of your towers until well into the iron age...
You know what's really pretty? A well laid out, functional and logical settlement. :D
Hello Rahadamant, I find quite useful, at early stages, to micromanage people in order to full all spots up in the inventory while hunting and gathering stuff. Good luck with the series!

a tip that i tought of while watching your series. for later tough, is dont build a wall around everything plan out a bit so your farms (and even some buildings) are outside the walls keeping your main group of poeple safe.
The way old medieval fortresses were planned, ehh?
@@Rhadamant yes saves on wall even more so when you have to use the wooden once.
tough i have to admit i tend to play these kind of games by making stuf look nice aswell.

Is this the exact same location as the tutorial series? Looks identical, or else the dev's made them all pretty generic. I was hoping to see some variety, but appreciate the new hardcore mode. Should be fun.
No, it's just a similar spot. Really .. almost all of the spots look the same .. it's all more or less the same biome.
you really like your survival games. maybe you want to check out Unreal World. it's a little different from what you have on the channel but i think you might like it.
My games I play are determined by my Patreon patrons, but with that said I generally don't find myself enjoying really low graphics games.

Why is half the tech already unlocked that doesint really make it hardcore.
I'm not sure why the developers chose to do it that way.
To balance it out i think....and that way within 30mins your attack, so building walls is important.

Would be cool if you actually explained a little bit what you're doing or what are the goals here. I've never seen the game before and you're going too fast for me to follow anything...
