    Correct, very few Sony radios work with the Maestro RR. I have the XAV-AX210 with the Maestro RR in my 2012 Chevy Silverado. It was the first Sony radio supported with the Maestro RR. I love it! My question is with the interface to the OBD2. Instead of using the supplied plug, can I use Posi-Tap to tap in to the wires on the back side of the connector? How do you like to wire in to the OBD2 in a permanent solution?

    What about the opposite of this, say you are currently wired up with the PAC kit in a 2010 Camaro with its much prettier dash kit and integrated chime through the speakers. Could you wire in the RR to add the gauges and other OBD2 functions without using the rest? (car doesn't have steering wheel controls)

    I have a question. I have 2010 Ford Expedition Limited and have a Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX and Maestro RR. My truck battery died and it sat for 2 weeks with no power. I replaced the battery and now my Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX and Maestro RR are not talking correctly and the light is blinking on the RR and some of my features are not working. I have a stereo shop do the Installation, but I have moved away. I wanted to know if I can rest the RR and flash it again myself if possible?

    I have a Pioneer DMH-2660NEX head unit that I want to put in my 2004 Mustang SVT Cobra. Can the iDataLink Maestro RR be used to display data provided by OBD2 on the display, displaying boost, oil temp, oil pressure, etc.? Also, can the RR be used to display TPMS data on the radio, by adding sensors to your wheels? Also since my car didn't come with steering wheel controls for answering phone calls, volume adjustment, or changing stations/music tracks, could this be added to the unit via a universal Car DVD GPS Player Wireless Remote Controller, Steering Wheel Remote Control Button for Car Navigation DVD 2 din Radio Bluetooth Steering Control?

      Yes- I successfully paired 1 with an ATOTO Android Radio... I was able to research & find info that other ppl had previously successfully used the RR w/ ATOTO. It does NOT work with just any radio, do your research first!

    Okay dude, you sold me! Even though, I still don't know what a RR interface is.
    Here's my situation. I have a 2001 Tacoma 4x4 double cab that does not have water a temperature, transmission fluid temperature or a voltmeter gauge and I would like to see those gauges on my Kenwood DNN990HD.
    Can this be done and where are you located? I'm near Oakland, Cali.

    Can you guys make a harness for the 2020 kia sedona from the hk1 harness? I'm understanding from maestro it'll need a hk2 (38 pin and 35 pin)the problem is they don't have it available as of yet but they assure me the unit will work. I'll be more than happy to pay for such a plug and play t-harness if you can or if it's even worth your time. I'm pretty sure I can do one myself but I start second guessing myself and get a bit intimidated lol. Lemme know if your able and willing and shoot me a price. Anyways thanks for the informative videos s always keep up the great work.

    I have a 2017 Focus with the Sony premium sound. I have removed my amp and installed a DSR1, is there a way to install the RR or RR2 while keeping the DSR1?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc

      Yes if you mean you want to add a new radio. Just reprogram the DSr1 for stand alone low level

    He should have kept the rR, a sw would have done everything he needed and he could use that rR in another car. That's one expensive steering wheel controls box

  • @jefftopp5205

    Ok, now what about doing the OPPOSITE of this? As in using a SMART head unit with a DUMB vehicle and say just buying a random harness kit that includes the OBD-II connection to display a few gauges on the screen coming out of an older PCM/ECU and possibly Diagnostic information as well WITHOUT all of the extra stuff that goes with newer vehicles??? Is there a GENERIC flash for this that allows you to ADD a few things to the new radio that are just generic OBD-II functions?

  • @AkedaLvl999
    @AkedaLvl999 3 роки тому +1

    I'm surprised someone would pay for a new radio and installation just to keep their radio. I mean they'd have to buy a whole new maestro for the new vehicle too.

    Great job soldering and using heatshrink on your wiring harnesses. That's a professional and lost art. I hate but connectors!

    • @jimbote1968
      @jimbote1968 3 роки тому

      oem does not use solder on wires. If they join wires it's either a butt connector or the wires are fused/welded. The factory wire repair procedures usually include, you guessed it, heat shrink butt connectors.
