nice last catch of this train leaving this railroad
nice hot air blown catch too
Thank you for watching!👍
stupendo loc molto grande molti cavallli mono cabina con piccola cabina per manovra bello pure loc 523 per spinta bellissimo video
GREAT video my friend. Awesome to see this train moving. Glad you got to get out and see this, this is just too cool.
Interesting seeing an Amtrak train under the wire that isn't using it! Another spot I frequented in the 70s and 80s, but didn't always have a camera with me. Leaman Place is GREAT for railfanning-wish it was a bit closer! When I would ride Strasburg it seemed like they timed their trains deliberately to meet with the Amtraks flying by there! Almost all my vids have this happening (including 2008)! Also, nice zoom shot of the train under the US 30 bridge-I have many a vid of the original bridge!
Great catch. Everything in this train looks brand new
Very nice video.
Thank You and Thumbs Up.
Greetings
Andreas
Thanks for visiting 🤍
Gotta love those GP38H-3s. I remember seeing #520 lead the Phase 1 Heritage unit into Albany on the Lake Shore!
Yeah, I did! As long as we're on the subject of Strasburg-Dolly bought a logo pattern from the gift shop there-in 1982! She embroidered it back then (or is it needlepoint?), then stuck it away-and recently came across it! Thought I'd give it a try...
@1Jennalover This one isnt really once you can ride. Its a museum on rails. You go in and tour. You get to go into all the cars except the first car. The Sleeper Car is for the Crew.
That is history in the making right there, everyone.
@1Jennalover Just a new scheme. The locomotive was retired and not in the best condition for the past 9 years. Now its been restored from the Beech Grove shops. I saw the same train in Lorton,VA
I like that 523 !
Awesome! I wonder why they won't let 406 lead...maybe it doesn't have ACS?
822 is capable in pushing the whole train if 406 is the leader
Coool looking train! nice! Brand sparkling new!!! Its inauguration?
Awesome catch!
Thx
@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR np👍
@trainfann1 Around 7:40, it looks like it takes on a rider, could be just for transport.
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR Awesome man, probably your best catch this year then!
where did that switcher come from? both amtrak and other one, why were they there, and what about the Strasbourg rr to main? what is that?
Nice catch
Awesome catch on 523! Hey Dave, is this where they keep some of the heritage units?
+BaltimoreAndOhioRR Nice heritage units.
Awesome video!!!
nice video
What camera do you use?
They should have Reading 2100 come to the Strasburg Railroad after restoration is finished
Does Amtrak cooperate with Strasburg any other way besides the use of the main line?
Why couldn't the NPCU just lead with the P42 pushing? It would have made that whole move possible with one locomotive, not two (plus one apparently watching).
This was an Awesome Video!!
Awesome Video
Thanks!
What is wrong with 822 when that GP38 arrived
This year is Norfolk Southern's 40th Anniversary
@trainmasta227 I have ridden on a train in years but I will have to make that experience once again real soon.
Why was 8618 there???
I'm assuming to pick up the Strasburg pilot that was on the Amtrak engine.
Amtrak 40th anniversary train leaves Strasburg for now and comes back
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR thanks
My guess is this was more of a onetime thing. Amtrak and Strasburg aren't connected (other than physically at Leaman Place). I'm sure, if there's another special occasion (such as Amtrak's 50th Anniversary in another 8 yrs) they'll do it again! But it would be more appropriate if they'd use one of their original F7s or F9s they "inherited" from lines they took over passenger service from! Assuming any still exist. I might have photos someplace...
+ BaltimoreAndOhioRR why did he stop?
+up4014 steam train fan
i dont know
okay thanks!
+BaltimoreAndOhioRR they should have used a aem7 or a hhp8
***** Before the ACS64s Arrived!
Amrail exhibit train consist anyone?
i would've gone to seen this but i was too young
Trainssssssss
I knew there were single level sleeper cars
why won't they let 406 lead? it has such a nice horn. Plus, they have to let a phase 5 locomotive lead, and the least they could do is put P42DC #145 on the other side instead of that ugly GP38 or whatever that ugly engine is.
Golden Rails Multimedia It's a GP40.
x тғw Its a gp38h-3 not a GP40
Old foamers.. Sheesh.
822 is responsible not that ugly GP38
